Chapter 568: Chapter 0570: Delivering Wine [Part 2]
Having left Dragon Soul, there was a car ready to take Chu Feng directly back to Yanjing.
After all, Chu Feng was now an Earth Level Expert, even though he was still a deputy leader in Squadron Seven. However, the treatment he enjoyed was that of a first-class Tributor.
In a seemingly quiet but heavily guarded courtyard in Yanjing City, the Dragon Soul’s car stopped right at the entrance.
Even though it was Dragon Soul’s car and its people, it still underwent a thorough inspection before finally allowing Chu Feng to enter alone.
Chu Feng, carrying only a bottle of wine, walked directly into the courtyard.
Chu Feng glanced at the six hidden cameras at the entrance of the courtyard and then proceeded into the premises.
The yard was a large six-section compound, and Elder Huang’s quarters were at the very back.
After passing through the hidden Heavenly Net, Chu Feng finally reached an area without any hidden cameras.
Elder Huang disliked the feeling of being watched, and indeed, if someone could breach the layers of security and reach the third section of the courtyard,
then even having cameras would likely be in vain; they could not stop the intruder’s progress.
In Elder Huang’s courtyard, an old man with slightly squinted eyes was meditating and exhaling.
This was an expert, and undoubtedly a top-tier expert.
At least Chu Feng was not confident that he could definitely defeat him.
The old man also felt Chu Feng’s arrival, and as he opened his squinty eyes, a sharp gleam flashed through as he looked at Chu Feng.
Chu Feng greeted the elder in the way of a Martial Artist, offering the respect due to an elder.
The elder nodded slightly to Chu Feng and then signaled that he could enter.
Carrying the wine, Chu Feng entered the room and saw Elder Huang listening to an opera.
Elder Huang was a carefree man, not seeking to involve himself in politics since he was not in a position to do so. He had retired and would no longer express his opinions on national affairs. Even if people came to him with questions, he would hold his tongue.
He understood that every word he said could have a substantial impact, so he did not speak out. He trusted the current government. Therefore, after retiring, his daily activities were listening to operas or playing with stones. These were his two greatest hobbies now.
"Elder Huang, I’m here," Chu Feng said, placing the wine on the table as he sat across from Elder Huang.
Huang Jianye turned off the radio and gestured for Chu Feng to sit down.
"Take a look at this stone for me, boy," Elder Huang said, pointing to a brown piece of rough stone with a natural exterior in front of him.
Chu Feng had already noticed that there was nothing inside the stone except for a bit of sparse green mist. Such stones could deceive the uninitiated, who might end up paying a large sum for them.
"There’s nothing in it," Chu Feng said truthfully.
Huang Jianye, upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, couldn’t help but feel regret, saying, "It looks like I, an old man, have been deceived again."
Chu Feng smiled and said, "Elder Huang, tell me who deceived you, and I’ll go smash their stall."
Huang Jianye chuckled and said, "Being deceived is a tuition fee. If you’ve never been deceived, life would be too boring."
Huang Jianye’s attitude toward life was indeed carefree, even Chu Feng had to admire it.
"Elder Huang, this is the wine that Brother He asked me to give you," Chu Feng said.
Huang Jianye glanced at the wine bottle and said, "He told me it was two bottles, how come it has become one? You didn’t sneak a drink, did you? Do you know how long I had to ask him for this wine before he finally decided to give me two bottles?"
Chu Feng said, "Elder Huang, there’s a reason for this. The day before I came, someone who practices with Poison Worms visited our school. I was worried that the Poison Worms would harm the students, so I used that bottle of wine to ignite his worn-out jacket."
Upon hearing Chu Feng’s explanation, Huang Jianye’s face showed no shock, only nodding in agreement, "One bottle of wine in exchange for the whole school’s safety is worth it. But you need to make up one bottle to me."
Chu Feng looked at the unbranded wine and said, "Elder Huang, this wine doesn’t even have a brand. How about you tell me what it is, and I’ll go buy a case for you?"
Huang Jianye said, "You can’t buy this wine even if you have the money. He Zhen didn’t tell you about the origin of this wine, did he?"
Chu Feng said, "No. Brother He just asked me to deliver it, he didn’t tell me about the origin of the wine."
Holding the wine bottle as if it was a treasure, Huang Jianye said, "This wine was actually one of two jars that the Grand Ancestor gave to He Zhen back in the day. He Zhen has never been willing to drink it and kept it sealed. I asked him for it more than once, and he never gave it to me. If it weren’t for you, I probably would never have gotten a chance to taste it in my lifetime."
After hearing Huang Jianye’s words, Chu Feng was stunned. He truly hadn’t expected the wine to have such a significant background. It was much more than he had imagined.
The wine that the Grand Ancestor gave to He Zhen in the past, whether good or not, even if it was water, Chu Feng had no way to get it.
Chu Feng said, "Elder Huang, I really didn’t know this. If I had known, I wouldn’t have used it to burn that tattered jacket, even if it killed me."
Huang Jianye chuckled and said, "It’s not too late now you know. Just figure out a way to make up one bottle of wine to me."
Chu Feng grimaced and said, "Elder Huang, I really can’t do that, and I’d be too embarrassed to go ask Brother He for another bottle. Just do whatever you want with me."
Huang Jianye said, "Even if you went and asked him, it wouldn’t be the same. I definitely wouldn’t accept it."
Chu Feng said, "Elder Huang, then I really have no other options. It’s up to you to decide what to do. I only weigh about a hundred pounds, see if you can trade that for some wine."
Huang Jianye burst into laughter and said, "You really are shameless. I don’t need you to trade for the wine, but you just need to do one thing for me."
Chu Feng said, "Elder Huang, I know you have a granddaughter, but I can’t commit myself to her. I have a girlfriend, and I love her very much."
Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, Huang Jianye was momentarily stunned, then he scolded with a laugh, "You really are a sly one, trying to change the subject."
After a pause, Huang Jianye said, "The favor I’m asking of you isn’t hard for you, don’t leave Dragon Soul. Help the General Captain cleanse Dragon Soul thoroughly."
Chu Feng knew that when Huang Jianye mentioned the General Captain, he was referring to the leader of Dragon Soul.
Chu Feng said, "Elder Huang, aren’t you the one who believes in not seeking office without the proper position? Why are you getting involved in the affairs of Dragon Soul now?"
Huang Jianye chuckled and said, "Are you saying I, this old man, am meddling too much?"
Chu Feng quickly replied, "I wouldn’t dare say that."
Huang Jianye chuckled again and said, "In this world, there’s still something you dare not do, even forcing a palace in Dragon Soul."
Chu Feng embarrassingly said, "There was a reason for that, Elder Huang. You surely know some of it. They detained my people, so I had no choice."
Huang Jianye said, "I know. That’s exactly why I’m asking you to stay. I might not seek power where I don’t belong, but I hope our country can be better, I hope our people can be happier. I’m asking this of you as an ordinary citizen of Huaxia."
