Chapter 513: Chapter 0515: Searching for Jade [Part 2]

Chu Feng and his two companions spent the night in Yunshuang, yet Fatty Tang’s men followed Ma Hong’s people and rushed to Yunxi ahead of them. They needed to leave Huaxia for Myanmar, and there were some preparatory matters to take care of beforehand.

Ma Hong had arranged for the finest and most distinctively featured hotel in Yunshuang to receive Chu Feng and Fatty Tang, providing them with a feast to wash away the dust of travel.

Immersed in such exotic customs and the beauty of the folk dances, Fatty Tang and Ma Hong quickly succumbed completely to the tender land of pleasure.

Chu Feng was a man who appreciated beauty without indulging in excess, especially since the beauties at home were unmatched by any here.

While Ma Hong and Fatty Tang wallowed in drunken dreams, Chu Feng left the hotel room.

Yunshuang was already basking in the scorching summer, and suddenly transitioning from the North Country to the Southern Country, Chu Feng felt somewhat acclimated and needed to step outside for some fresh air.

Chu Feng came to the hotel lobby, found a random seat, ordered a pot of authentic Pu-erh tea, and watched the lake and mountains outside.

Such tranquility was somewhat of a luxury for Chu Feng during this past month, and he greatly enjoyed it.

"Young friend, may I sit here?" A rich and benevolent voice sounded.

Chu Feng opened his eyes and saw a monk standing opposite him. Buddhism was prevalent in Yunshuang, but it was still somewhat strange to see a monk in such a hotel.

The old monk had a kind face and a fragrance of sandalwood about him, which felt reassuring to the senses.

"Master, please take a seat," Chu Feng said as he got up to invite the monk to sit down.

The monk sat opposite Chu Feng and said, "Young friend, you seem out of place here."

Chu Feng smiled and replied, "Aren’t you the same, Master?"

The monk said, "That’s why I came to find you."

Chu Feng poured a cup of tea and placed it in front of the monk, saying, "Master, please enjoy the tea."

The monk, observing Chu Feng pouring the tea, asked, "Do you have enemies, young friend?"

Chu Feng smiled and said, "Quite a few."

The monk said, "That’s why you are wary of me."

Chu Feng did not hide it, nodding in agreement and said, "Master is inscrutable to me. I do not know if you are friend or foe, hence my wariness."

The monk said, "You are very honest, young friend. To you, I am neither foe nor friend. You come seeking jade, and I am here for the same. You seek the Earth Vein Essence, while I seek the Human World’s uncut jade."

Chu Feng looked at the monk, aware that he was not lying, but this only deepened Chu Feng’s confusion. Being past the age of naiveté, Chu Feng didn’t believe there would be a master appearing before him, praising his extraordinary physique, proclaiming him a martial arts prodigy, asking him to protect the Earth and to maintain world peace.

The monk seemed to perceive Chu Feng’s doubt and said, "Because I cannot see through you, I wish to get closer and try to understand. This is my fixation, my Heart Demon."

Chu Feng smiled and asked, "So, has Master seen through it yet?"

The monk shook his head and replied, "No, it only grows more obscure."

Chu Feng asked, "What is it that Master wishes to understand?"

The monk answered, "Your fate."

Chu Feng said, "My fate?"

The monk continued, "My master told me, if I encounter someone in my life whose fate I cannot decipher, then it would be my own destiny."

The monk’s words really left Chu Feng a bit confused, as he said, "Master, I’ve read quite a few books, but I’ve had little contact with monks. You’d better speak plainly with me."

The monk said, "Inscrutable, indescribable. I have nothing more to say."

"How about this, Master, why don’t we have a fight? If I win, you talk plainly with me. If I lose, I won’t ask any more questions. How about it?" Chu Feng was truly frustrated by this feeling, which made him feel like a headless fly.

Without responding, the monk passed his palm over the teacup. Then, the tea in the cup dramatically transformed, turning into individual droplets, each encapsulating a tea leaf. The red tea looked almost like amber.

The pattern of falling tea droplets was orderly, with one layer over another, as if revealing the myriad states of the world.

This move took Chu Feng’s breath away. Such a technique was definitely beyond the Earth Level, a feat only a master could achieve. It seemed Chu Feng was truly no match for the old monk.

"Are you trying to intimidate a junior, Master? Do you find that amusing?" Chu Feng said with a bitter smile.

However, by the time Chu Feng had finished speaking and started to look around, the monk had vanished without a trace.

Chu Feng searched all around but couldn’t find any sign of him.

"Waiter, did you see the master who was sitting opposite me just now?" Chu Feng asked the waiter.

"I’m sorry, sir, I didn’t see anyone, and there’s only been you at the tea table the whole time. No one else has come in or out," the waiter said, looking at Chu Feng as though he was mentally ill.

Chu Feng didn’t want to believe he was hallucinating; even so, how could he explain the tea?

"Get your surveillance footage, I need to see it," Chu Feng insisted.

The waiter said, "I’m sorry, sir, I don’t have the authority to do that."

Chu Feng was annoyed and said, "Then find someone who does have the authority to come over."

What was supposed to be a pleasant evening was ruined by a sudden appearance of a monk, and what bothered Chu Feng the most was that he still didn’t know anything about the monk.

The feeling was truly exasperating. Even if the old monk came out and gave Chu Feng a beating, it would have felt better. At least he would know if the monk was a friend or foe.

"Sir..."

"Don’t tell me you don’t have the authority. If you can’t get your manager here, I’ll make sure your establishment can’t continue operating," Chu Feng said, now truly angered.

In the end, Chu Feng pulled Ma Hong away from the bellies of two women, and with Ma Hong’s intervention, the hotel’s general manager personally attended to Chu Feng.

"As I said, there was only that gentleman..."

However, before the waiter could finish, he saw with his own eyes a monk walking past him boldly.

He didn’t even attempt to stop him as if he hadn’t seen the monk at all. If it weren’t for the surveillance footage, he would never have believed it.

Moreover, the restaurant’s surveillance footage also recorded him sitting opposite Chu Feng, although there was no sound.

Then, two minutes later, the monk walked past the waiter again with the same boldness, and he still had no reaction.

The waiter appeared to have seen a ghost, his eyes bulging and limbs trembling.

Such power, to pass in front of someone without drawing any attention, was beyond Chu Feng’s capabilities. But who was this monk, and why had he come? It really infuriated Chu Feng to the point of madness.

"Check the outdoor surveillance for me, I want to see where he went," said Chu Feng.

When the outdoor surveillance was brought up, the old monk was walking among the crowd, and the people around him seemed to have no reaction to him either. In the end, the old monk disappeared into the crowd, leaving no trace behind.
