Chapter 50: Chapter 0050: Bai Got Beaten Up
An Rongrong frowned and said, "How can you two be like this, what if Wu Liang really is sincerely remorseful?"
Xiao Pang sneered, "If he could really repent, I might as well win the Nobel Peace Prize. Sister-in-Law, you’re well-educated, you must know what they say, ’It’s hard to change one’s true nature.’"
Chu Feng laughed and said, "Xiao Pang, I’ve noticed you’ve gotten smarter lately. The way you talk is getting more sophisticated. Looks like you won’t have any problem getting into college."
Looking at Xiao Pang and Chu Feng who were singing the same tune, An Rongrong said indignantly, "You two are cut from the same cloth, such narrow-minded men."
Chu Feng looked at An Rongrong, who was puffing with anger, and chuckled, "If you don’t believe it, then let’s go together. After all, someone is paying for us to travel for free. We might as well go."
"Fine, let’s go!" An Rongrong said defiantly.
The Labor Day holiday arrived quickly, and at Wu Liang’s invitation, the entire class, including all the subject teachers, as well as Zhang Daqi and Principal Xie Mengying, were among those going on the trip.
"Boss, something doesn’t feel right about this. Why were the principal and the head teacher also invited?" Xiao Pang looked at the number of teachers and felt that something was off, whispering to Chu Feng.
Chu Feng sneered. Even the principal and the head teacher were coming—this obviously wasn’t something Wu Liang could have arranged on his own, there must have been Wu Di pulling the strings behind the scenes.
Chu Feng sneered, "No matter what tricks she plays, as long as she doesn’t bother me, it’s fine. But if she provokes me, I’ll make sure she regrets it."
Seeing that everyone had arrived, Wu Liang, the main character of this event, stepped forward and said, "I really appreciate all the teachers and classmates for participating. I hope this gathering can become our most beautiful high school memory, and I hope after this, everyone can forgive me for any offenses in the past."
"Applause!"
Wu Liang’s words were met with applause from everyone, and several girls even took the initiative to show goodwill towards him. After all, Wu Liang was a rich kid, and now that he seemed to have improved his behavior, he naturally became more popular.
Surrounded by applause, Wu Liang suddenly felt that maybe being a good person wasn’t so bad.
However, remembering Wu Di’s instructions, Wu Liang quickly dismissed the thought.
Wu Liang had arranged a coach bus that could fit the entire class and every teacher.
This trip’s destination was already known to everyone: Hats Mountain. This was a newly developed scenic area by East River, with few visitors, yet it retained its natural beauty.
After more than an hour’s bumpy ride, the bus finally arrived at Hats Mountain.
"Boss, Wu Liang has a good eye for picking spots. I’ve been here before. There’s a naturally-formed lake at the top of the mountain—definitely a romantic spot for couples," Xiao Pang whispered to Chu Feng.
An Rongrong nodded, "I’ve heard my brother mention it before, that the scenery here is beautiful."
Chu Feng looked at An Rongrong with a smile and said, "If you like it, we could build a house on the mountaintop and live here from now on. I bet the kids born here would be super healthy."
"Go away! Who wants to have kids with you!" An Rongrong retorted, her face red.
Xiao Pang knew at a glance that this was none of his business.
Wu Liang’s arrangements for the trip were very proper, not only having arranged transportation but also tents and everything needed for a cookout, including a grill, charcoal, and meat.
"How beautiful!"
It took everyone an hour to climb to the top of the mountain, but the sight of the sprawling, shimmering lake left everyone unable to help but praise it.
Having already scouted the location, Wu Liang wasn’t surprised to see it again.
The weather was clear, and with such a beautiful view, plus a group of high school seniors who could finally relax, it didn’t take long for the place to become lively and animated.
Chu Feng, An Rongrong, and Xiao Pang were sitting casually by the lake. Although everything seemed unusual, Chu Feng’s principle was to ignore Wu Liang unless Wu Liang provoked him first.
But it was strange for Wu Liang: since their arrival, he hadn’t actively sought out Chu Feng. He was busy helping their classmates and seemed genuinely intent on turning over a new leaf. This won him the favor of his classmates, and even Liu Tiemei, the head teacher, praised Wu Liang on several occasions.
Time quickly reached noon, and the top of Hats Mountain was now crowded with people who had come here for a wild cookout.
Everyone began to prepare for the barbecue. The skewers had been ready for a while; they just needed to get the fire started.
However, for these pampered kids, starting a fire was a difficult task, and the teachers were clueless about it too.
Ultimately, it was Chu Feng who stepped in and got the fire going. Having run a barbecue stall with Qin Mei right after his older brother’s death, starting a fire was a no-brainer for Chu Feng.
"Hmm? Where are Teacher Wang and Principal Xie?" Wu Liang suddenly asked.
Hearing Wu Liang’s words, everyone realized that Wang Yan and Xie Mengying were indeed missing.
"This is bad! Teacher Wang and Principal Xie are surrounded by a gang of hooligans over there." Suddenly, a girl came running back, shouting anxiously.
"How dare they bully our teacher, they’re really asking for trouble!" Wu Liang stood up with a whoosh and shouted angrily.
Leading the charge, Wu Liang dashed over, followed by the rest of the students and teachers.
Chu Feng and the other two followed as well, but Chu Feng was only interested in seeing what kind of tricks Wu Liang was up to.
As everyone followed Wu Liang to the scene, they saw seven or eight hooligans surrounding Xie Mengying and Wang Yan, occasionally touching them inappropriately.
"Damn it! They dare to bully our teacher, they are dead meat!" With a weird yell, Wu Liang charged into the fray.
Because Wu Liang moved so fast, leaving only his silhouette behind, no one saw that as he charged forward, his hands were rapidly forming bizarre signs, while squinting his eyes continuously.
"Where did this little twerp come from, daring to interfere in Laozi’s business? Beat him up!" The leading hooligan, initially a bit hesitant at the approach of the group, saw only Wu Liang charging towards them, cursed loudly, and then kicked out.
"Bang!"
Wu Liang was struck solidly and sat down hard on the ground.
"Acting tough, huh? Beat him to death!" snarled the leader, spitting out and kicking Wu Liang in the stomach.
Two kicks had Wu Liang seeing stars.
"You motherfuckers are crazy, don’t you know who I am? Hasn’t Brother Tie Tou told you?" Wu Liang screamed, clutching his head.
"Tie Tou your sister! Beat him!" the leader cursed again and then kicked Wu Liang repeatedly.
Wu Liang realized that his act of bravado had backfired, and he was being screwed over. This was not his own crowd.
"Stop right there, we’ve already called the police!" said Xie Mengying coldly.
"You called the cops, beauty? Well, when they come, we’ll all have fun together, okay?" the head hooligan said, not scared of the police at all.
"Nobody move, whoever comes forward, I’ll kill them!" one of the hooligans threatened, pulling out a knife as some students seemed ready to step in.
"Boss, I’ve found a stunner; today’s our lucky day!" One of them saw An Rongrong and his eyes lit up immediately.
