Chapter 479: Chapter 0481: Du Zitong Equals Stomach Ache
Mo Yanfang brought Chu Feng to her parents and said, "Dad, Mom, this is my boyfriend, Chu Feng."
Mo Yanfang’s father was a somewhat portly middle-aged man who clearly adored his daughter. This could be seen in his tender gaze as he looked at Chu Feng.
Obviously, the tenderness wasn’t because Chu Feng was handsome, but rather it was directed at Mo Yanfang.
As for Mo Yanfang’s mother, she was clearly more worldly. In the private room’s intense heat, she was still wearing a fur coat, a clear display of wealth. For the life of him, Chu Feng couldn’t think of any other reason for her to wear that fur coat.
Of course, what was most important was that her look at him was rather unfriendly. However, this did, to some extent, reassure Chu Feng that he wasn’t caught in some sort of time travel.
"Chu Feng, these are my aunt and my uncle by marriage," continued Mo Yanfang as she introduced them to Chu Feng.
Chu Feng politely said, "Hello, Uncle, Auntie."
"Xiao Fang, this is the son of the vice director of the First People’s Hospital, Du Zitong. He has already graduated with a doctorate from the medical school and is now the chief physician at the First People’s Hospital," Mo Yanfang’s mother introduced enthusiastically.
Chu Feng somewhat understood Mo Yanfang’s resistance upon looking at Du Zitong.
Although Du Zitong was quite presentable, there was quite an age gap.
Du Zitong looked to be nearly thirty years old, while Mo Yanfang was just barely twenty.
Even though a ten-year age difference doesn’t seem like much in this day and age, Mo Yanfang was still of a youthful age, and for her to date a man ten years her senior was something she really couldn’t do. It was indeed a significant challenge for her.
"Pff!" Mo Yanfang couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing her mother’s words and said, "Stomachache, no wonder he is at the hospital."
"Xiao Fang, don’t be rude. Young Master Du’s name is Du Zitong, don’t joke around like that," Mo Yanfang’s mother said sternly.
Mo Yanfang stuck out her tongue and said, "I was just joking with uncle."
Chu Feng truly pitied Du Zitong upon hearing Mo Yanfang’s words.
Being given such a name was one thing, but being called an uncle was another. If it were him, he probably would have turned and left long ago.
However, Du Zitong showed a clear interest in Mo Yanfang, who’s voice cooed and whose figure was well-proportioned, brimming with youthfulness everywhere.
Although Mo Yanfang called him uncle, which made him very irritated, he still smiled very gentlemanly and said, "It’s okay, just a joke. Auntie, let’s sit down and talk."
Mo Yanfang’s mother glared at Mo Yanfang and said, "Aren’t you going to thank Young Master Du for not being mad at you?"
Quickly, Du Zitong said, "Auntie, just call me Zitong. Don’t call me Young Master Du; it feels too distant."
Mo Yanfang’s mother immediately smiled broadly and said, "Then I’ll call you Zitong. That’s better, it feels much closer."
Mo Yanfang’s mother, from beginning to end, didn’t even glance at Chu Feng, let alone speak a word to him. It was as if she treated Chu Feng as if he didn’t exist.
But Chu Feng didn’t care. After all, he was just pretending, and caring wouldn’t do any good.
Once everyone was seated, Mo Yanfang’s maternal aunt, a woman who was equally shrewd, equally inclined to wear fur indoors, and just as corpulent, was the first to stir up trouble for Chu Feng. She said, "So, looking at you now, you must be a student, right?"
Mo Yanfang frowned and said, "Auntie, his name is Chu Feng, not ’so’."
"Why should I bother to remember such arbitrary, insignificant names?" Mo Yanfang’s maternal aunt said with disdain.
"I am a student; currently studying business administration at East River University," Chu Feng said.
Hearing Chu Feng’s words, Du Zitong smiled and said, "So you’re a talented student from East River University, majoring in business administration. That’s a great field. Maybe in the future, you could become a company’s CEO. By then, I might even need your help, little brother, right?"
Although Du Zitong spoke politely, everyone could tell he was clearly mocking Chu Feng.
And Mo Yanfang’s mother cooperated very well, saying, "Zitong, you think too highly of today’s college students. Graduating from college these days is synonymous with unemployment. Besides, which company would let a fresh graduate become their CEO?"
Du Zitong was very pleased with the cooperation of Mo Yanfang’s mother and smiled, saying, "I’m just saying there’s a possibility. After all, he’s still a student. We shouldn’t shatter his confidence, should we?"
"You’re always the thoughtful one, Zitong. But, to be honest, even if he really does become a CEO, he still can’t compare with you doctors. Do CEOs not get sick? If a CEO gets sick, doesn’t he still have to see a doctor? I’ve heard that Director Du has treated many big bosses and leaders," Mo Yanfang’s maternal aunt chimed in at the right moment.
Du Zitong ’modestly’ smiled and responded, "Well, that’s not exactly true. Although my father has treated the vice mayor and many bosses, like those from the Wu Group, there’s really nothing to brag about. No matter how good we doctors are, we can’t make a fortune. At most, people will remember your kindness."
Chu Feng felt somewhat sickened by what he heard. To say there was nothing to brag about was nearly an admission in itself, and naming positions like that was as good as coming right out with it.
Mo Yanfang’s mother, seemingly eager not to be outdone by Mo Yanfang’s maternal aunt, continued sycophantically, "I heard that Director Du has been invited to become the chief health physician for the Fengjing Group. I heard this Fengjing Group is extremely powerful. Their assets reportedly have already reached the tens of billions level."
Chu Feng’s eyes lit up when he heard Mo Yanfang’s mother’s words.
Seeing Chu Feng’s eyes light up, Du Zitong felt increasingly proud and said, "Actually, that’s not a big deal. Fengjing Group is indeed very large. However, my father is too busy; he doesn’t plan to go and is considering recommending me for the position."
Mo Yanfang’s mother, as if she had discovered a new continent, said, "Is that true, Zitong? I hear Fengjing Group is lavish and won’t skimp on your consultation fees."
For Du Zitong, it was no big deal, "In fact, it’s not much — just a seven-figure annual salary."
Once Chu Feng heard this, his eyes shone again, which made Du Zitong feel incredibly validated.
However, Du Zitong had no idea what Chu Feng was truly thinking.
Chu Feng was planning to go back and teach Cui Jingyan a good lesson. It wasn’t easy making money, and yet here he was, offering a hefty seven-figure annual salary to such an incompetent person. If this wasn’t squandering money, what was? Chu Feng decided that once he returned home, he would teach Cui Jingyan the importance of frugality.
Of course, Du Zitong could never have known this. If he had known that the person in front of him was the owner of the Fengjing Group, he probably would have run headfirst into a wall.
