Chapter 434: Chapter 0435: Amnesty [Part 1]

Zhuang Xinyan and her two companions entered the An Family house, and naturally, professional doctors were there to treat the abrasions on Zhuang Xinyan’s and An Rongrong’s foreheads.

"Was it Bai Jiahang who did this?" After treating Zhuang Xinyan’s wound, Zhuang Xinyan spoke up.

An Rongrong said, "It shouldn’t be, Bai Jiahang isn’t such a foolish person."

Zhuang Xinyan said, "We shouldn’t rule out Bai Jiahang’s reverse thinking."

Chu Feng nodded and said, "Indeed, we can’t rule out that possibility, but I think it wasn’t Bai Jiahang who did this. However, it’s certain that it’s related to the Bai Family. We can still chalk it up to the Bai Family. Furthermore, the person who made a move clearly didn’t intend to kill us. He must have a grudge against Bai Jiahang."

Zhuang Xinyan said, "Are you suggesting that Bai Jiarui did this?"

Chu Feng said, "There’s a high probability of that."

"It appears that the relationship between the Bai brothers is more discordant than we imagined. We should be able to exploit this," Zhuang Xinyan stated.

"Indeed, we can take good advantage of this, but playing such mind games is not my forte, you’d better make good use of it." Chu Feng spoke, while using his Inner Strength to help An Rongrong completely clear up the bruise on her forehead, leaving no trace whatsoever.

"Rongrong, you really make your sister envious. Having such a versatile boyfriend, even injuries leave no marks," Zhuang Xinyan said with a hint of envy.

An Rongrong giggled, "Sister Xinyan, if you don’t mind, I wouldn’t mind letting Chu Feng touch you either."

Chu Feng glanced at An Rongrong and clenched his teeth fiercely.

An Rongrong acted as if she didn’t see it.

"Miss, someone from the Bai Family has come to deliver an invitation to Mr. Chu," the Zhuang Family’s housekeeper came in and told Zhuang Xinyan.

"The Bai Family sent an invitation for me?" Chu Feng wasn’t surprised that the Bai Family knew he was there, but he was indeed surprised by the invitation.

"Let him come in," Zhuang Xinyan was also surprised, but regardless of the surprise, with someone at the door, Zhuang Xinyan couldn’t not let him in.

Bai Jiahang’s housekeeper came in, respectfully holding an invitation, and said, "Mr. Chu, our young master invites you to have lunch tomorrow at East Lake Villa."

"Did your young master send you to deliver this invitation, or to check if I’m dead?" Chu Feng coldly responded.

The housekeeper, unaware of the assault on Chu Feng, paused upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, then said, "Mr. Chu, there may be some misunderstanding between us, our young master indeed only sent me to deliver this invitation."

Chu Feng said, "I’ve taken the invitation, you go back and tell your young master. I will come tomorrow; I hope he can give me a satisfactory answer."

"Thank you, Mr. Chu." The housekeeper handed over the invitation with both hands, then left the Zhuang Family under the guidance of the Zhuang houseworkers.

"A feast at Hongmen?" An Rongrong asked, looking at the gilded invitation.

"If it really were a feast at Hongmen, he wouldn’t choose to hold it at our villa. He intends to win over Chu Feng. This Bai Jiahang is more difficult to deal with than we thought. And now I believe that the incident tonight wasn’t done by Bai Jiahang. Someone as capable as he is would absolutely not engage in such child’s play," Zhuang Xinyan stated.

Chu Feng threw the invitation on the table and said, "Whether it’s a feast at Hongmen or an attempt to win me over, we’ll find out tomorrow."

After a pause, Chu Feng looked at Zhuang Xinyan and said, "You’re not in cahoots with the Bai Family, are you? You’re not planning to poison the food tomorrow, are you? If you were that kind of spy within a spy, it would be shockingly unexpected."

Zhuang Xinyan said, "If I could poison anyone, you’d be the first one I’d kill."

"Serves you right!" An Rongrong glared at Chu Feng and said.

"I was just kidding. Can’t I even make a joke?" Chu Feng said dejectedly, touching his nose.

"This matter, I’ll spread the word myself," Zhuang Xinyan said, ignoring Chu Feng and speaking on her own.

Chu Feng said, "Good. Make sure Bai Jiarui gets the news as soon as possible."

Zhuang Xinyan nodded and said, "No problem."

An Rongrong ended up staying at the Zhuang Family home that night, and who knows what secret conversations the two sisters had behind Chu Feng’s back.

Actually, Chu Feng wanted to stay too, he even suggested battling it out with Old Master Zhuang till dawn.

But he was ruthlessly rejected and then driven out of the Zhuang Family’s house.

"I’m coming back tomorrow. Don’t you think it’s troublesome? I don’t mind if you two sleep on the floor and I take the bed," Chu Feng said, trying one last time.

"Get lost!" the two women said in unison.

Bai Jiarui indeed received the news right away.

As he heard the news, Bai Jiarui was being attended to by a young woman. The news brought a gleam of appreciation to his eyes. "My dear brother, he’s even better than I thought, more patient. I never expected him to make gestures of goodwill towards Chu Feng, trying to placate him. This really was beyond my expectations. With him leading the Bai Family, we truly might move from glory to glory," he said.

While he spoke, Bai Jiahang thrust fiercely, causing the woman beneath him to roll her eyes in ecstasy.

Bai Jiarui pushed the now unconscious woman aside, straightened his trousers, and stood up.

"Boss, what should we do next?" his subordinate asked Bai Jiarui.

Bai Jiarui, looking at the stars outside, said, "We don’t need to do anything. Chu Feng isn’t someone who takes losses lightly. No matter who caused tonight’s events, he’ll pin the blame on the Bai Family. Since it falls on us, he definitely won’t let my good brother off easily. We just need to watch. The stronger Chu Feng appears, the more opportunities we’ll have."

"Yes, young master, I understand," the subordinate replied and then left the room.

Bai Jiarui certainly wasn’t someone to take lightly either. If Bai Jiarui really joined forces with Bai Jiahang, the Bai Family’s glory was indeed foreseeable. But no two tigers share one mountain.

Two equally outstanding people, who would willingly be the foil for the other? Obviously, that’s impossible. It would be good enough if they weren’t stabbing each other in the back, let alone willingly playing second fiddle. That’s simply not likely at all.

In the grand estate of the Jin Family.

Jin Yu and his father sat facing each other. The Jin Family had not attended tonight’s banquet. However, what had happened at the banquet was crystal clear to the father and son of the Jin Family.

"Dad, it’s just as you predicted. The waters of East River are thoroughly muddied, and Wu Mingzhe truly died as he deserved," Jin Yu said.

Jin Yu’s father said, "The Jin Family holds no advantages in this struggle. It’s impossible for us to break free from control and leverage our own strength to dominate this grand family council. We can only start by stirring up these waters. After that, we can find opportunities to gain the upper hand."
