Jingyan felt a burst of relief, as the frustration Chu Feng had caused her moments earlier completely dissipated.

Jingyan smiled at Chu Feng and said, "If you’ve got the guts, come at me. I absolutely won’t resist."

Chu Feng, enticed by Jingyan, felt his body heat up with a surge of blood rushing through his veins. Jingyan was too devilishly enticing; such a temptress could have outshone even Daji in the Shang Dynasty.

"Don’t push me; when I’m desperate, even I’m afraid of what I might do," Chu Feng said, holding back his impulses.

Chu Feng stood up and took two steps towards Jingyan. Just when Jingyan was both expectant and fearful, Chu Feng turned around and headed straight for the bathroom.

"Giggle, you gave up on your own. It has nothing to do with me," Jingyan said with a playful laugh.

"Sister Yan, give up on what? Are you going around doing something with the boss without us knowing?" Xiaoxiao’s voice carried down from the stairs.

Startled by Xiaoxiao’s voice, Jingyan, her face flushing to her neck, quickly adjusted her robe and hair and said, "Why did you come down?"

Xiaoxiao replied, "I was thirsty and came to find something to drink. Did I ruin something good between you two?"

Jingyan spit out, "Go on, drink your water and get back to sleep quickly."

After Xiaoxiao finished her water and went back, Jingyan realized why Chu Feng had walked toward the bathroom after taking just two steps—he had seen Xiaoxiao.

"Seeing Xiaoxiao coming out and not giving me a heads up, you let me make a fool of myself in front of her," Jingyan complained as Chu Feng returned.

Chu Feng said, "I was afraid I’d breathe fire if I spoke, so I decided to cool down in the bathroom first."

Jingyan gave Chu Feng a look and said, "Excuses."

Chu Feng said, "Let’s talk about something serious, Sister Yan. You know, with all the anti-pornography and illegal content crackdown going on. Imagine, getting caught at home, that would be really annoying."

Jingyan raised her fist and said, "You little rascal, looking for trouble? They can’t bother me with that kind of crackdown; who do you think I am?"

The two bantered for a while, finally starting to discuss some serious matters.

"Alright, let’s talk about something serious. Are we going to that banquet the day after tomorrow or not?" Jingyan asked.

Chu Feng replied, "No need to go; we don’t need to give the Bai Family that satisfaction. Sooner or later, we’ll soar to great heights; we shouldn’t give anyone the slightest chance to strike at us."

After a pause, Chu Feng continued, "Moreover, I plan to cause a scene there the day after tomorrow."

Jingyan asked, "You suspect that An Wenxing’s affair involves the Bai Family?"

Chu Feng replied, "Sister Yan, just continue with your plans; let Fengjing Group become an empire behind the scenes. We’re not short of money now, so whatever you want to invest in or however you want to operate, you’re free to make moves."

Pulling out a crumpled cheque from his pocket, Chu Feng said, "This $1.5 billion is my compensation this time. Just handle it as you see fit."

Jingyan took the cheque, laughed ironically, and said, "A year ago, I was still struggling managing a loan of over ten million for Golden Cauldron. But now, in less than a year, I’ve taken control of a conglomerate worth tens of billions. I’ve also realized that when you have too much money, you really don’t know how to spend it."

Chu Feng confidently said, "It’s mainly because you found a capable, competent man."

Jingyan corrected, "A little man."
