Chapter 380: Chapter 0381: She Wants to Perish Together [Part 1]
Tang Min shook her head repeatedly when she heard Ning Xiaoman’s words and said, "Chairman, of course, I would never betray you, but..."
Ning Xiaoman said, "There’s no but about it, that one percent makes no difference whether it’s with you or me."
Tang Min said gratefully, "Thank you, Chairman."
Having settled this matter, Ning Xiaoman looked at Chu Feng and said, "How long do you need to raise the money? We don’t have much time."
Chu Feng held up five fingers.
"Five days! That’s quite long, and it might be difficult, but I will try to delay for as long as I can," Ning Xiaoman said, frowning.
Chu Feng shook his head, indicating that wasn’t right.
"You mean five weeks? Then it’s too late!" Tang Min exclaimed in panic.
Chu Feng said, "Do you think I’m that incompetent? Five weeks? Why don’t you say five years?"
Tang Min said, "Then is it five hours? With such a short time, how can you possibly raise so much money?"
Chu Feng still shook his head and said, "Five minutes is enough."
"Five minutes! For you to come up with twenty or thirty billion, that’s simply impossible." Tang Min and Ning Xiaoman both expressed disbelief at this claim.
Chu Feng said, "How about we make a bet?"
"What’s the bet?" Chu Feng’s involvement had eased some of their concerns about the company’s future.
Chu Feng said, "Let’s bet on the assistant role, shall we? If I win, you two will be my assistants for a week and let me enjoy commanding others for a change."
Ning Xiaoman said, "Agreed. But what if you lose?"
Chu Feng said, "If I lose, I’ll lend you the money interest-free. I won’t ask for a single cent of interest or a single share of your stock."
"Deal!" Ning Xiaoman said decisively.
Chu Feng’s lips curled into a sly smile, his stratagem a success. He then made a direct call to Cui Jingyan.
Chu Feng’s Fengjing Entertainment Company was very different from other companies. Its scale was not large, but Fengjing’s cash reserves were enough to make many large companies envious. After all, Chu Feng’s channels for making money were many and fast.
Chu Feng briefly explained the situation to Cui Jingyan, who agreed without hesitation.
In fact, for Cui Jingyan, wanting to grow the company quickly was not feasible just by steady steps.
Having a lot of cash in the company was good, but it could also lead to idle funds, which was a waste of resources. Cui Jingyan didn’t mind investing in high-quality investment projects.
Moreover, Cui Jingyan had long ago said she would set Fengjing Entertainment apart and make it a separate entity, like their security company. Fengjing would then act as a group, unifying the management of all its subsidiaries, thus avoiding confusion and increasing efficiency.
Within less than five minutes, Chu Feng hung up the phone and said, "It’s all settled now. Draft a contract. Once I sign it, the funds can be transferred to either your personal or company account."
Ning Xiaoman watched Chu Feng in disbelief. In less than five minutes, Chu Feng had secured an investment of over thirty billion yuan, for an uncertain future. This seemed far more capricious than her own attempts to acquire Chu Feng’s company.
Regaining composure, Ning Xiaoman immediately instructed Tang Min to draft the contract, which Chu Feng and she signed on the spot.
After the contract was signed, Chu Feng faxed a copy to Cui Jingyan. Once she confirmed there were no issues, she immediately began transferring funds.
When Ning Xiaoman saw her personal account suddenly increase by tens of billions, she was still somewhat in disbelief, finding everything surreal, as if she were dreaming.
Tang Min, even more incredulous, could not believe that Chu Feng, a freshman still interning at her company and whom she previously regarded as a younger brother, could mobilize tens of billions so swiftly without even batting an eyelid or showing the slightest hint of worry.
"Next, we’ll start spreading the news that the company is in trouble and deliberately arrange for the stock to fall. Then, using your company’s name, I will open multiple accounts and quietly absorb all the sold shares," Ning Xiaoman said.
Chu Feng replied, "You can handle that yourself, I just need to know the results. But you’d better be meticulous; otherwise, any slip-up won’t be good. And keep this operation secret, waiting for some fools to jump out of their own accord."
After a pause, Chu Feng added, "Don’t forget the bet you both agreed to."
"I won’t, this opportunity is once in a lifetime, I can’t let it slip," Ning Xiaoman said.
Watching Chu Feng walk away, Ning Xiaoman suddenly felt that he was the true benefactor in her life.
An extremely critical situation for her became her greatest opportunity to solve all the company’s problems with Chu Feng’s arrival.
"Chairman, let’s get to work," Tang Min said to Ning Xiaoman, who seemed a bit distracted, as a reminder.
Upon hearing Tang Min’s words, Ning Xiaoman’s face flushed slightly and then she began arranging everything.
The next day, early in the morning, multiple pieces of unfavorable news about Kai Sheng Group were intentionally spread through various channels.
The direct consequence of these reports was that the stock of Kai Sheng Group plunged from the opening bell, rapidly hitting the limit down within ten minutes.
"Who on earth released this news? Didn’t we agree to keep everything confidential, giving Ning Xiaoman time to solve the problem?"
All the shareholders holding the company’s stock were anxious. They had agreed during their meeting to prevent information from leaking in order to buy Ning Xiaoman time to address the issue. But now, only a day later, without the problem being resolved, the news had already leaked. This caused all of them huge losses.
"Chairman Zhao, what’s going on? Was it you who did this?" Zhao Yongbin’s phone had been ringing off the hook since morning.
At this point, Zhao Yongbin was utterly confused and had no idea what was happening.
He wanted to see Ning Xiaoman ruined, but not the company. If the company went under, he would lose everything.
"This was not my doing; I’m investigating what exactly happened," Zhao Yongbin had repeated many times.
"Uncle, what’s going on? If the company is finished, won’t all our arrangements have been in vain? In the end, we’ll get nothing," Ma Xuesong came to Zhao Yongbin early in the morning.
Zhao Yongbin, looking at the trading screen, which had been released from the limit down only minutes before and soon hit the limit down again, felt his eyes turning green with fury.
"How the hell would I know what happened, how would I know what this is about?" Zhao Yongbin cursed loudly.
