Chapter 340: Chapter 0341: You Need to Cultivate Good Connections
Boom!
Spiritual Energy and Sword Qi collided mid-air, emitting a sound like thunder, a rare occurrence in winter. Today, however, everyone on Broken Wave Cliff heard it with their own ears.
The clash between Spiritual Energy and Sword Qi created a deep pit nearly two meters wide, flinging soil and snow into the air. All spectators were boiling with excitement.
This was no special effect; it was real Kung Fu.
Sword Obsession was sent flying, and so was Chu Feng.
Both were coughing up blood. The shock had severely damaged Sword Obsession’s meridians and internal organs. The destruction caused to his body by Spiritual Energy was not to be underestimated.
Chu Feng was injured because, although the Yang Nine Calamity harnessed the Spiritual Energy of Heaven and Earth, he was already wounded. This attack exacerbated his injuries.
Chu Feng somersaulted in the air and then also stood firmly on the ground.
Sword Obsession wanted to stand firmly as well but staggered backward three large steps upon landing, and half of his body was already dangling over the edge, with the boundless sea behind him.
"Bang!"
Chu Feng took a deep breath and then struck out with his palm, ready to seal the deal.
By now, Sword Obsession was at the end of his tether, and facing Chu Feng’s fierce palm strike, he could only close his eyes and wait.
"Puff!"
However, just as Sword Obsession resigned himself to his fate, a shadow blocked his path.
It was a Ninja from the Iga Family, using his own body to shield Sword Obsession.
He didn’t use any Inner Strength, relying solely on his body to bear the brunt.
He coughed up mouthfuls of blood, and his body was flung out as well.
The body flew out of Broken Wave Cliff and was about to plummet into the sea.
With quick reflexes, Sword Obsession grabbed his clan’s Ninja while also flinging a rope to wrap around the only small tree on the cliff top.
This battle was over, and ultimately, Chu Feng won. Though it came at a cost, Chu Feng emerged victorious.
Moreover, Chu Feng saw that the Iga Family Ninja no longer had any desire to kill them. Moreover, this defeat was harder for someone as prideful as Sword Obsession to stomach than death itself.
"You all leave, and never set foot in Huaxia again. Otherwise, next time, Huaxia will be your grave," Chu Feng said before turning and leaving Broken Wave Cliff.
His coat had shredded during the fight, but fortunately, it wasn’t cold while it was snowing.
Seeing Chu Feng turn and walk down the mountain, the expressions of the people on the Observation Deck varied.
Chu Feng had won, increasing the stakes for the Zhuang Family and the An Family. Unless something decisive happens to change the situation, either the Zhuang Family or the An Family is sure to become a noble house.
At this moment, those who had chosen their sides too early were somewhat regretful.
The Tang Family, however, was very happy, since, because of Tang Xiaoxiao, they were already aligned with both the Zhuang Family and the An Family.
As long as one of these families ascended to nobility, the rise of the Tang Family was assured.
Chu Feng was now very tired, and all he wanted to do was go home and sleep. This battle had drained too much of his energy, and the injuries on his body made him feel like he might not last much longer.
The mountain path was already blanketed in silver, but at the moment, Chu Feng had no mood to enjoy the scenery.
Chu Feng walked down the path, and upon reaching mid-mountain, a Daoist wearing cloth shoes also blocked his path.
The Daoist appeared here as if out of thin air, without any footprints behind him, nor to his sides.
This was an expert, stronger than Sword Obsession, if not equally formidable.
"Are you here to kill me?" Chu Feng looked at Taoist Buxie and asked calmly.
"Yes," Taoist Buxie admitted without concealment.
"Are you sure you can kill him?" Before Chu Feng could respond, an elder in a Sun Yat-sen suit came down from the direction Chu Feng had arrived from, moving downward.
"Is it you?"
Taoist Buxie, seeing the elderly man in the Sun Yat-sen suit coming down the mountain path, also furrowed his brows.
This elderly man in the Sun Yat-sen suit was someone Taoist Buxie had seen before. He was the same elder who had spoken for Chu Feng at the observation deck.
"Which faction are you from?" Taoist Buxie asked the elderly man in the Sun Yat-sen suit.
"I am a Huaxia martial artist," the elderly man replied calmly.
The Daoist narrowed his eyes and said, "Are you here to protect him?"
"Obviously," the elderly man responded.
Chu Feng, watching the two old men banter endlessly, also said, "Gentlemen, if you’re here to rescue me, please start fighting quickly. I’m really not holding up well."
After speaking, Chu Feng sat down on the steps, watching the two old men staring each other down.
"I think you should let him go because you cannot afford to offend his master. His master has already broken through the Xuan Level Late Stage and is preparing to advance to Earth Level, with a success rate of over eighty percent," the elderly man in the Sun Yat-sen suit said quietly after glancing at Chu Feng.
Taoist Buxie, upon hearing the elderly man’s words, tensed up.
Earth Level!
That was a realm he had wanted to reach all his life.
Chu Feng perked up upon hearing this and said, "Is Master preparing for another breakthrough to Earth Level?"
The elderly man in the Sun Yat-sen suit nodded and said, "When I came, your master had already successfully broken through the Xuan Level Late Stage. He wants to make a continuous effort to break through again."
Chu Feng laughed and said, "Hey old man, did you hear that? My master is about to break through the Xuan level. Try touching a single hair of mine and I guarantee my master will shave off all your hair, even those at your privates, not leaving one. He’ll do the same to your master, strip him bare too."
"You know why he’d leave your privates? Because it’d be useless even if he left them, since you’re a monk. But seeing how you casually attempt to kill, you’re hardly a pure monk. Honestly, how many Daoists have you kept outside? You monks are all hypocrites, doing all sorts of sneaky things behind the scenes." The more Chu Feng spoke, the more amused he became, indulging in self-questioning and answering.
Taoist Buxie, hearing Chu Feng’s words, turned ashen. Chu Feng was enough of a scoundrel; he truly wanted to tear Chu Feng’s mouth apart.
"You’d better not act rashly, because if we fight, he can easily escape. Then, failing to establish this good relationship, you’ll find yourself in even more trouble," the elderly man advised.
Chu Feng added, "He’s right. Without this bond of goodwill, you’ll be in more trouble, because when I rise up, I’ll personally pluck every hair from your body, leaving not even your privates. You won’t be able to play with Daoists ever again."
Taoist Buxie’s face turned iron blue, and with a sudden flicker, he stomped on the mountain path, causing a large part of it to collapse into a big pit. His body then leaped up, disappearing without leaving any trace on the snowy ground.
"Destroying public property, call the police on this shameless old man!" Chu Feng shouted from behind.
Taoist Buxie, hearing Chu Feng’s words, wavered slightly, clearly very angry.
"Your master hasn’t broken through yet," the elderly man said softly.
"Ah!" Chu Feng, hearing the elderly man’s words, swallowed back the words that had almost reached his lips.
