Chapter 259: Chapter 0259: Company Matters [Part 2]

Chu Feng, hearing Cui Jingyan speak so seriously, also knew that something significant must have happened at the company, otherwise Cui Jingyan wouldn’t have been so grave.

Chu Feng didn’t waste words and directly said, "Okay."

After asking Xie Mengying for some time off, Chu Feng took a cab straight back to the company.

Upon arriving, Chu Feng headed straight for Cui Jingyan’s office.

Once in the office, Chu Feng saw Cui Jingyan on the phone; her words carried an extra hint of earnestness.

Seeing Chu Feng come in, Cui Jingyan gestured for him to wait a moment.

After hanging up the phone, Cui Jingyan felt a bit dizzy and rubbed her temples.

"I’ll do it." Seeing the overworked Cui Jingyan, Chu Feng walked up to her, stretched out his hand, and used Inner Strength to massage her briefly.

Feeling a surge of cool relief, Cui Jingyan felt much more comfortable.

"That’s better, I’m okay now," said Cui Jingyan, opening her eyes.

Chu Feng let go of his hand, sat opposite Cui Jingyan, and asked, "Sister Yan, what happened?"

Cui Jingyan said, "The venue we had contacted for the concert has suddenly breached the contract unilaterally."

Chu Feng frowned and asked, "A unilateral breach? When did this happen?"

Cui Jingyan replied, "It happened last night, but I only found out this morning."

Chu Feng asked, "Do you know why?"

Cui Jingyan answered, "Not yet. I called the venue, and they just had their secretary talk to me about it, showing no sincerity at all."

Pausing for a moment, Cui Jingyan added, "There must be someone sabotaging us behind the scenes; otherwise, this wouldn’t have happened so suddenly. You know, the penalty for breaching a contract unilaterally is quite substantial."

Chu Feng thought for a moment and then asked, "Do you have any suspects?"

Cui Jingyan responded, "There are too many people capable of doing this, so it’s as if there are no suspects."

Indeed, there were many potential suspects, like the Jin Family, the Wu Family, and the Jinying Society, all of whom were plausible suspects, having the necessary influence. This could only be attributed to Chu Feng having offended quite a few people, but he felt that those who respected the rules wouldn’t engage in such sabotage.

This was tantamount to breaking the rules. It’s not breaking the rules if I haven’t signed a contract and you compete with me, and I lose—that’s fair. But now that I have signed a contract, and you suddenly sabotage it, that is clearly breaking the rules.

After all, we are all in the same circle; if you disrupt me today, I might disrupt you tomorrow. Such retaliation would harm everyone eventually. Therefore, unless necessary, nobody would commit such acts.

After sharing his thoughts with Cui Jingyan, she also said, "I also feel it isn’t like them to do this, but I can’t think of anyone else who might."

Chu Feng was silent for a moment, then asked, "How would it affect us if we changed the venue now?"

Cui Jingyan said, "The impact would be quite significant. After all, this was the first concert we had planned since our company was established. If the first concert goes like this, it’s not just a matter of luck. Our reputation and goodwill would be severely damaged.

In the future, probably no one would want to collaborate with us, and our painstakingly prepared stage rental company would effectively be hollow. Such a move against a newly established company like ours is akin to completely undermining it, risking our initial investments turning into nothing. That’s another reason I suspect them."

According to Cui Jingyan, they indeed deserved suspicion. And very much so, considering it was a move to pull the rug out from under someone.

"President Cui, the matter has been thoroughly investigated," Cui Jingyan’s secretary said as she pushed open the large doors to Cui Jingyan’s office.

Chu Feng seldom appeared at the office, so hardly anyone knew that he was the real boss behind the scenes.

"Who is pulling the strings behind the scenes?" Cui Jingyan asked eagerly.

It’s not the hidden enemies one should fear, but not knowing who they are—that’s the most terrifying part.

"It’s Hu Hua from Shuyu Entertainment Company who’s causing trouble behind the scenes," the secretary replied.

"Shuyu? We have no dealings or grudges with Shuyu. Why would they do this? And with our current size, we should not yet pose a threat to Shuyu’s position in East River, right?" Cui Jingyan’s brow furrowed slightly.

The secretary said, "President Cui, I have also looked into this matter, but I found not a single clue. I completely don’t know why Shuyu would suddenly do this. Moreover, according to the current investigation, all the cancellation fees for the venue were paid by Shuyu."

Chu Feng glanced at the photo in the documents and immediately understood, saying, "I know why."

Cui Jingyan demanded, "Why?"

After speaking, Cui Jingyan also looked at her secretary and said, "Alright. You may go now. If there’s nothing else, I’m not receiving anyone today."

"Alright!" The secretary gave Chu Feng a meaningful look, then left without asking another question.

"What exactly is going on?" Cui Jingyan asked.

Right away, Chu Feng went through his own issues with Hu Hua.

After listening, Cui Jingyan also became enlightened. Chu Feng had deeply offended Hu Hua; it would be strange if Hu Hua didn’t seek retaliation.

Cui Jingyan hadn’t expected this matter to be stirred up by Chu Feng again and was somewhat helpless, saying, "So what do we do now?"

After pondering a moment, Chu Feng said, "Sister Yan, do we have any alternative venues? Let’s not worry about other issues or think about the losses for now. Whether it’s from Hu Hua’s side or the East River Stadium’s side, I will make them come begging on their knees for us to host our concert there."

Chu Feng rarely became genuinely angry, but this time he was truly furious. If you play by the rules, and I cannot keep up, it’s due to my incompetence. But now, if you don’t play by the rules, I’ll play hard too.

Hearing Chu Feng’s words, Cui Jingyan also said, "Indeed, we do have alternative venues, but neither their location nor facilities compare to East River Stadium."

Chu Feng said, "Then let’s go with that one. Immediately hold a press conference to explain the whole situation, and also announce that we will compensate everyone by selling all the concert tickets at half price."

Cui Jingyan said, "If we do that, our losses will be substantial, at least around five million."

Chu Feng sneered and said, "Don’t worry about that loss; someone else will bear it for us, will pay for us."

"Sister Yan, call East River Stadium now and give them one final ultimatum. If they continue to honor the contract, we will let bygones be bygones. If they don’t, we’ll sue them until they go bankrupt!"

Cui Jingyan replied, "Okay! I’ll get on it right now."

A glint of cold light flashed in Chu Feng’s eyes as he said, "Elite Society, I hope this isn’t the beginning of breaking the rules. Otherwise, you’ll regret it."
