Building My Guild With A Blank Scroll -
Chapter 42: Waking Up-4
Chapter 42: Waking Up-4
The three guards stood there silently, confused about who to even find in the first place, as they had no knowledge of any Wizard entering the Mansion. Since they were the upper floor units, and so there was a need for more info to help in their search— but how were they even going to ask that from him?
"S—" Mustering the courage, Ral was about to speak when his entire being and insides shook.
"FIND HIM!!"
As Kaleb spoke, his words were filled with a violent spiritual energy which caused their hearts to skip a beat. Fear taking all over them, the guards glanced at each other- beads of sweat all over their faces. Knowing that they were definitely not getting anything else from him, there was only one way left to go about this. They would have to find out from the other units and it had to be done fast before whoever it was escaped.
"Yes Sir!" They said in unison, bowing and running out of the study room the next moment.
Taking a seat, he dragged it closer to the table as his hand went under the desk. Finding the exact spot he was searching for, he pushed it up with a clicking sound being heard, a small compartment popping out right before his face.
He looked into it and could see a ring which was the only thing in the compartment— a storage ring. Reaching for and holding it between his fingers, Kaleb scanned through its contents.
’Vans, you and your bloody witch will be next on the list after am done with him. No matter his power level—he’d die like a rat.’
Finally finding the exact thing he expected to be inside it, a smile propped up his face as he thought to himself.
Done there, Kaleb stood up, now wearing the ring on his hand. Heading to the open door, he was soon out of the room, banging the door behind him as his rage continued.
*YAWWWN!
At the right corner of the room, Bella yawned as her eyes flickered open to the bother of a ray of light that had nowhere else to situate itself except on her forehead. A burning sensation emanated from the red dot now on her forehead. Which made her look as if she’d been marked by a sniper for a headshot.
Stretching her arms wide as she enjoyed the sensation of such morning exercises. Bella sat up on the bedding she had slept on, one made with nothing but scrolls. It was an idea she had been given earlier, having been promised to be better than her previous bed- the desk which could be seen at the center of the room.
She went to grab one of the three books which could be seen at her side, just for something on the ground to catch her attention. ’Huh? When did that happen?’
As she looked at the mess on the floor with pieces of glass among others there, a single thought came to mind. ’That old man.’
"Did he come back again?" She mumbled to herself, remembering something. As turning to look at what was considered to be a pillow, she reached and took out a scroll which was part of the others to form her headrest.
’He said it was for big brother- He needed it to survive.’ Bella thought and soon as the words replayed in her mind, other memories of what had happened the previous night came to mind. ’Uncle had hurt him right?’
’He’s so strong, wouldn’t brother have died?’ Slowly something seemed to add up bit by bit to the pieces in her mind as the realization soon hit her. ’So this is supposed to save big brother.’
She looked at the scroll in her hands for a while, her gaze then shifting to the wheelchair a few inches and within arm’s reach. Now aware of her brother’s situation, she had to get the item to him as fast as she could, but there was an issue.
She couldn’t walk or feel her legs, and to top it up, she had never gotten in a wheelchair by herself. After all, she was a noble and had a personal maid, though it was so due to her condition. Thus, getting whatever it was to him would prove to be a tough task she wouldn’t be able to undertake alone.
Yet it wasn’t impossible, to place the book carefully back in its position— she valued them greatly. Bella brought herself forward with her hands supporting and pushing her. Eager to get to it, she tried harder with each push and just when she’d gotten close to the chair. She brought her upper part forward, crawling towards her target. Bella soon held onto the armrests as with all she’d got in her body, she only managed to raise herself three inches when-
*BAM!
She came back down colliding with the floor, butt first. "Owwieee!! It hurts, It hurts- waaaaah waaaah!!" Bella exclaimed loudly, the wheelchair rolling away from her and stopping at the wall, now beyond her reach.
"Lady Bella?" She didn’t even know when someone had entered the room already.
"Waaaah waaaah!! Help me Kezzziaa! It hurts!! waaaah!"
"My Lady, what were you doing?" A feminine voice was heard asking.
"Eh? I–"
*********
"Do not let anyone find out about this scroll, if you care about your brother and want to save him." The croaky voice of Lo-an replayed in her head.
That was when she’d been handed the dark purple scroll she currently had with her.
*********
"I- I- I wanted to give this to Big Brother. Without it, he’d die!" Bella sobbingly said, holding the scroll out to her with both of her hands.
However, the maid a young and short woman with navy blue hair and a pair of brown eyes wore a puzzled look on her face. "But the Young Lord has already woken up."
"Waa— wait, what?!" Bella was taken aback, her gaze shifting to the scroll alongside the maid’s.
’Did he lie to me? But he seemed like a good person.’ She thought to herself, disappointment all over her face.
Although Kezia on the other hand had recognized what it was, her eyes went bling as thoughts flooded her mind.
’How much is this worth?’
’It’s a taboo scroll and should be a powerful one. If I could get my hands on it, working for that witch would be useless to me.’
’No, I have to get my hands on it at all costs.’
"My Lady, can I get a look at it? I wonder what about it could have saved the young Lord."
"Um, okay. I think it should wake him up if dropped on his head — it’s quite heavy but a good pillow too."
’Fufufuuu, with this I can be set for life without having to work.’ Kezia held the scroll in her hands with care, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she couldn’t believe her luck.
Puzzled she tilted her head to the side to get a look at her, something weird of course. ’What’s she so happy about with a scroll? Huh, wait does she also want my pillow?!’
"Give it back!"
"Eh??"
