Chapter 40: Waking Up-2

"It’s okay Belle, stop crying," Zlatan said, holding his little sister in his embrace as she sobbed. He didn’t know how he was moving, nor how he could feel now. But it didn’t matter, to Zlatan it was just a dream.

"I’m the one dreaming here, why cry over me." He added softly.

Staying together in each other’s embrace for a few minutes. Belle’s sobs subsided as she lifted her head to look at her brother, her hands moving up to his chubby cheeks again.

"Massagy..." She mumbled, yawning as she fondled his cheeks with her little hands, a sparkle in her pair of black obsidians- an eye colour which ran through the entire Elmore family, except a select few.

’It feels so real.’ He thought, looking down at her face.

"Is she real?" Just then, it came again as her face shifted to what he remembered, dead with her eyes lifeless. "Brother?" She called out to him, snapping him out of his mind.

Staring up at him, Belle thought of a reason behind his odd behaviour and as she found one, voiced it out the moment it came to mind. "Did Uncle throw you too hard?"

"Uncle?"

"Mmhm, it was great and throwy throwy. I didn’t get to have some, I couldn’t finish the chunks in time- hmph." She complained, folding her arms as she sighed at the end of her words.

"Throwing? Uncle? When did that happen?" He didn’t even know why he was asking or showing any interest, It was just a dream anyway no matter how real it felt.

Belle’s eyes narrowed as she moved from left to right on the bed, her eyes on his head and looking at him from different angles before she spoke. "You really did hit your head that hard, brother."

Zlatan was now super confused, unable to recall whatever she was speaking about, not even in the real memories of his. After all, to him, this dreamscape was happening according to his memories. However, he just couldn’t recall since he didn’t know what this day was and so he asked. "What day is this?"

"Um, um, I really don’t remember but Bella would. Let’s go ask her." She was already off the bed, wearing a fitting black gown and having her hair tied up in a bun. "Oh, the curtains." Fast as she was on those short legs of hers, she soon drew the curtains open. As the bright sun rays burst into and filled the room with its light.

"Ah, the summer sun is very bright. Definitely scorchy outside." She remarked, turning to be met with Zlatan staring right past her and out the window.

"Eh?"

’That view? I remember that view.’ Zlatan couldn’t believe he was seeing not only a forestland which stretched over the horizon but a garden he could also recognize. ’My Bedroom? This should be my bedroom.’

’Does that mean?’ Thoughts ran through his mind, and he couldn’t accept the fact. Though everything did pinpoint to it being exactly where he was thinking it was. ’The Mansion?’

"We are in the Family Mansion" He voiced.

"Mmhm, I think we should- aaaahhhahahah!" Belle yelled out in shock as she was suddenly lifted from the ground before she even noticed Zlatan move.

"We are home!!" Turning around he held up Belle by her waist, swirling her also. Beaming with a smile on his face, the fact he held in his mind of it being a dream disappeared to the side of his mind as he enjoyed the moment.

Stretching out her arms she yelled out. "Brother is so strong!"

’I’ll eat more to be like big brother.’ She thought to herself, flapping her hands like a bird.

"It seems someone is awake and having fun here." A voice was heard, catching them off guard, especially Zlatan who came to a stop and turned in the direction of where it’d come from.

’Cousin?!’

His eyes widened in disbelief, the thought which had hidden resurfacing. ’This is definitely a dream.’

"Jaisal, Elena." He could see two figures standing there, taller and older than him as both wore similar tunics since Elena wasn’t a fan of gowns and kirtles but did vouch for smocks once in a while. "You’re alive?" The words came out of his mouth unconsciously, though he was in awe rather than the regret he felt upon seeing his younger sister.

"Aren’t we supposed to be asking you that instead," Jaisal said, walking closer in their direction, when Elena dashed past him coming towards Zlatan.

"Big sister, brother doesn’t have any goodies right now." Elena froze in her tracks hearing Belle’s words as he now sat on top of the bed.

"Pfft!" Jaisal tried to hold back his laughter, only to receive a glare of daggers from her before she turned back towards her little cousin. "Sweetheart, I’m not here to do that."

"Huh? To steal?" Belle asked, swinging her legs back and forth at the edge of the bed while having one of her innocent smiles up her face.

"I-" Her cheeks flushed red, although, she had long grown to hearing such things and so taking a breather. She smiled and spoke, "No, I’m just here to check up on the young lord here."

"Oh, brother isn’t doing that well. He hit his head hard and got stronger."

"Eh!" Zlatan exclaimed. ’When did getting stronger become something bad.’ He thought as just then, like a certain reminder, his memories knocked on the door of his mind.

"Zlatan got stronger. We should eat more meat then." Jaisal chimed, brushing his hair through his short silver hair as he spoke.

"Whoa, big brother is so smart and handsome." Belle cheered, her eyes full of admiration as if she’d finally seen her idol.

Jaisal felt a chill run down his spine, as the next second he noticed Elena glaring at him, already thrashing him in her mind. "Heh, smart and handsome." Hearing her say the same words, it didn’t sound any way near the first, being cold and murderous instead.

*BAM- BAM!

Everyone’s attention turned to the door as a knock was heard on it. "Young Lord, breakfast is ready to be served. Please head to the dining hall." A feminine and familiar voice of one of the maids came from behind.

"Okay!" They all responded in unison except Zlatan, the figure behind taken aback from hearing others also in the room.

"Forgive me, Young Masters and Ladies." The figure said. "Please head to the hall." She added and was soon gone.

"Now who’s up for a morning feast?"

"Me! Me! Me!"

’This is still a dream right?’
