Chapter 52: Getting new spells part 2

Aric noticed that the prices of the plant spells were much higher than those of the earth. His heart bled as he saw them, but he had no choice. He used 22,000 gold to get all the spells.

The information filled his head in an instant. His smile widened even more. Sure, they were costing him a lot, but the rewards were looking good. He was eager to try them out as soon as possible.

He opened the system without hesitation again, this time to get spells for healing magic.

[Mend Flesh]

Description: Rapidly closes open wounds and restores damaged tissue using concentrated life energy.

Effect: Stops bleeding and accelerates natural regeneration, though deep wounds may require multiple casts.

Weakness: Cannot regenerate lost limbs or organs, and excessive use can cause exhaustion in the caster.

Cost: 5000 gold

[Purge Affliction]

Description: Removes poisons, diseases, and magical curses from the target’s body.

Effect: Neutralizes toxins and dispels harmful magical influences, restoring normal bodily functions.

Weakness: Ineffective against high-level curses or afflictions deeply rooted in the soul.

Cost: 5000 gold

[Vital Surge]

Description: Fills the target with revitalizing energy, boosting their stamina and temporarily reducing fatigue.

Effect: Allows the target to keep fighting longer without suffering from exhaustion, though it does not heal injuries directly.

Weakness: If overused, the target may experience extreme fatigue once the effect wears off.

Cost: 5000 gold

[Restoration Wave]

Description: Releases a wave of healing energy in a wide radius, mending injuries of all allies within range.

Effect: Heals moderate wounds for multiple people at once, making it ideal for battlefield healing.

Weakness: Requires a large amount of mana, and its effectiveness decreases the more people it affects.

Cost: 5000 gold

[Divine Rebirth]

Description: A powerful spell that restores missing limbs, organs, or severely damaged body parts.

Effect: Uses a massive amount of mana to reconstruct the target’s body, even reversing the effects of near-death injuries.

Weakness: Extremely draining and cannot revive the dead—once life has fully left the body, it becomes ineffective.

Cost: 5000 gold

Aric couldn’t hold his smile back as he looked at the spells. He had made a pretty good selection, but they were 5000 gold each. That was an absurd price, but he was not worried. The spells all looked worth it.

He spent the full 25,000 gold and got all the spells. The information filled his head like before.

"All these spells are amazing. I wonder how good legendary ones will be?" Aric said. He decided to check the legendary spells, and immediately, he was frightened. The average legendary spell cost well above 20,000 gold.

"Damn, that was a huge leap, but I still want one. I still want to see what one looks like." Aric said. He steeled his resolve and decided to get three at the 20,000 price.

He wanted one for each affinity. He went through the several lists and found the ones he wanted from each affinity.

[Earth – Titan’s Domain]

Description: Transforms the battlefield into a massive, ever-shifting terrain of towering rock formations, bottomless chasms, and crushing stone walls.

Effect: The caster gains complete control over the terrain within a massive radius, allowing them to raise mountains, create canyons, or bury enemies under an avalanche of stone.

Weakness: Consumes immense mana and cannot be maintained indefinitely. Water and wind magic can erode or weaken the structures over time.

Cost: 25,000 gold

[Plant – World Tree’s Wrath]

Description: Summons the might of an ancient, godlike tree whose roots spread for miles, altering the land itself.

Effect: The roots and branches grow at incredible speed, forming an impenetrable forest that devours enemies, drains their life force, and strengthens the caster. It can even terraform barren landscapes into lush jungles.

Weakness: Fire-based magic can burn the forest, and ice magic can slow its growth. The caster must remain connected to the tree’s core to maintain control.

Cost: 20,000 gold

[Healing – Miracle of Eden]

Description: A divine healing spell said to restore all injuries and ailments, as if the target had never been harmed.

Effect: Fully regenerates lost limbs, removes all diseases, neutralizes curses, and even restores life to those who have not completely died. Those affected feel as though they have been reborn.

Weakness: Requires an enormous amount of mana and time to cast. It cannot bring back the dead if their soul has already left their body. Overuse may permanently weaken the caster’s life force.

Cost: 20,000 gold

Aric felt his heart tear as he paid for the spells. He paid 65,000 for them.

He wanted to celebrate getting such good spells, but the system stepped in to spoil the mood.

[Discount on spells has now been removed.]

[All spells have returned to their original prices.]

Aric saw the notification and became immediately confused. What discount was that? Was there a discount? Different questions filled his mind.

He checked the system again to see the prices of spells, and he nearly choked on air when he saw them.

The advanced spells that he had bought cost 50,000 gold on average, while the legendary ones cost 200,000 gold.

"What the hell is this? You mean I could never even afford a legendary on my own?" Aric asked. He thanked the heavens for this discount that he knew nothing about.

[Next discount is scheduled to happen in six months’ time.]

"Six months? So if I need a spell, I have to use my gold and pay for those absurd prices? Well, it doesn’t matter. I got enough today, though I could have gotten more if the system had told me about the discount." Aric said.

Now that he had gotten the spells that he needed, he could start preparing the final aspects of what they would need to battle what was coming.

First was to create weapons for the goblins, but that would be easy with the help of Pentharis. He also needed to probe and find out about the enemy. He had seen the direction that the bird flew, so that was where he would head.

"I need to move faster," Aric said. He got up from the ground and walked out of the house.
