Building a World Class Empire in another World -
Chapter 114: Rich
Chapter 114: Rich
Aric used the root until they made it out of the town. The townspeople watched in amazement and shock as a massive root tore through their streets.
When they got to the border of the forest, they all came down from the root. Aric looked at the town in the distance and shook his head.
"I guess getting along with him is off the table now," Aric said.
"They’ll surely retaliate for what you did," Ariel said.
"And we will be waiting for them, ready. I’m done with holding back. We don’t need them for the development of Terra," Aric said and turned, facing the forest.
He walked into it, vanished within the trees. Ariel, Elisa, and Pentharis followed him in. They travelled for a while, and when they finally arrived at the village, Aric was shocked to find out that all the ohries had evolved while he was away.
He had given Unara the task to ensure that all of them got their true names, and it seemed she found a way to do that.
Immediately he returned, everyone in the village greeted him, bowing their heads as a sign of respect. He didn’t really like the fact that they did this, but he didn’t bother to stop them, as Ariel had made it crystal clear to him that a clear and distinct system was needed when running a society.
He headed right for the house. He walked in, followed by the three. Immediately they entered, Ariel shut the door.
"We’ll have a meeting tonight. In the meantime, I’ll be getting some things ready, so I would love if no one distracted me," Aric said and went up the stairs.
He got into his office, walked to his chair, and sat down. He leaned back on the chair, his hands behind his head.
"System, show me my stats."

"I got a title? When did that happen?" Aric asked. He wondered when he had gotten a title; he had received no notifications at all.
"System, what benefits does this title give me?"
[Village Chief: Ruler of the village of Terra. Your word is seen as order within the village. All stats are doubled when in village. Spells have twice the effect inside the village. All system purchases cost half the original price when inside the village.]
He read the details of the title, and his eyes widened in shock. The benefits were all insane. He would be able to make sure they developed faster with the help of the title and also provide more defense.
"I wonder what I’ll get if I push the village up to a town," Aric said. He gazed at the ceiling, daydreaming about it, and then he came to the realization.
"Why wonder, when I can make it into a reality." He sat up straight and opened the system shop. He began surfing for things that he needed.
He sat there going through the system for thirty minutes, only purchasing a few things, but even what he purchased was still a lot, as boxes filled the office so much that the ground had vanished.
Inside were books, and even mana-saved videos of different things that he needed them to learn. With this small spending spree, he had eaten into a hundred and fifty thousand gold in that moment.
He had to stop because he felt he had spent too much.
[Major development achievement unlocked: 500,000 gold, level up, 10 free stat points]
[You have completed the first housing for your villagers: 500,000 gold, level up, 20 free stat points]
[Technological advancement achievements: 500,000 gold]
[Cumulative building reward: 500,000 gold]
As Aric was thinking about his lack of gold, a string of notifications came in, and immediately he saw them, he knew where they came from, the housing was completed.
Ron had finished all the houses that were planned, and that was a real shocker, seeing it was only a week now.
He was yet to go and check what was the status with the buildings. He felt that they would still be working on it, but to his surprise, they had finished it.
Because of them, he had gained two million gold. That was more than enough for what he had planned in the coming days.
He got up from the table and headed out of the office. He made his way out of the house and toward the houses.
He was immediately amazed by what he saw there — rows and rows of houses spread out far into the distance, all of them built properly.
Each home had two rooms, a parlour, and a few other necessary parts. They were simple yet very cozy and effective.
Though the system said the houses were now complete, he still saw ogres and goblins moving materials toward one direction. Riven decided to follow quietly and see where they were headed.
He made sure that no one noticed his presence. After a while of walking, he finally saw where they were headed to — they were building a bigger manor, a better one.
"I didn’t ask them to do this," Aric said.
"Yes, Ron decided you needed a better home," Ariel said behind him. Aric jumped in fright when he heard her voice. He didn’t even feel her presence when she came.
"Don’t scare me like that," he said with a pissed expression.
"Hmph, I found your scared expression cute, so I’ll probably do it again," she responded.
"No it wasn’t, so please don’t," he responded, but the look on her face told him that she was not going to do what he said.
"Sigh, either way, tell Ron to call off the construction of the manor or whatever they are working on. They’ll need to leave some new things before we continue any development.
Also, they need rest. Finishing all these houses in nothing but a week is crazy already," Aric said.
