Chapter 190: Officially married

Knox waited, but Azrael only stared at him, giving him a look that silently said to understand him. How could he though? How could he understand something he didn’t want to explain? Knox was conflicted.

He closed his eyes and pursed his lips tightly. Turning his back from the alpha, Knox said once more, "I will apply for a marriage license tomorrow. So, you have until then to think more about what you want to do."

"You can’t apply for a marriage license alone..." Azrael whispered, slowly following Knox behind.

Before opening the bedroom door, Knox turned to look at Azrael and sneered, "I will know whether I’ll be alone tomorrow or not." His words have emphasis and are sharp. He opened the door and stepped in, leaving Azrael alone in the corridor.

The next morning, Knox woke up from small kisses smothering his face. When he opened his eyes and found those grey eyes looking back at him, his lips formed into a smile. He was a simple-minded omega. All he wanted was to wake up next to his alpha and he’d be happy again.

"I’m sorry..." Azrael’s soft and apologetic voice reached his ears. He sighed and cupped his face, turning his back to his snoring son, and facing Azrael fully. "Let’s do it. Let’s adopt Aresh. I’m missing the little guy too, and I’m sure Knoa will be happy having an older brother."

Knox pouted and sourly asked, "Did you really need eight hours to think about that? So, you did hesitate. I don’t know what to feel—

His words were swallowed with hungry lips crashing on his. Knox’s eyes opened wide, thinking how reckless Azrael was when their son was just right behind them. He patted the alpha’s shoulder lightly, but Azrael just deepened their kiss.

Knox panicked, but Azrael’s kisses were making him lose focus.

Azrael’s hand moved on his back, and before he knew it, their places were swapped. Knox was the one on the edge of the bed now, and Azrael was beside Knoa. His wide shoulders were hindering the kid’s view.

Azrael bent down again, kissing him passionately and exploring his mouth once more. Knox threw his worries in the air and just wrapped his hands around Azrael’s body, kissing him back with the same intensity.

It was as though the little misunderstanding between them last night had not occurred, and as though they had been separated for long, they held each other like they just had their awaited reunion.

Azrael bit on Knox’s lower lip after breaking the kiss. He heaved deeply, grunting inwardly, "I want you..." Knox could feel his heart racing against his chest. "You don’t know how I want us to marry and finally become a family, Knox. I’m sorry I couldn’t answer you immediately last night. I’m just...just afraid you’d change your mind if you know what I’m doing...and for the record, Mr. Arden, you know the place where I took a shower. It’s my unit. I just don’t want you to see me...covered in...dirt."

Knox’s eyes softened as he realized something. Just like how he still feels anxious despite his putting his trust in Azrael, Azrael felt the same as well. They both have their own fears and instead of sharing them together, they are keeping them away from each other, because fear, just like happiness, is contagious.

Knox held Azrael closer and showed him how much he loved him, despite whatever things he did in the past. If he feared that he might leave one day, then perhaps, Knox wasn’t doing his best to reassure him.

So, from now on, Knox promised to shower him with love Azrael won’t doubt him again.

That morning, as they lay beside each other, Knox continuously whispered in Azrael’s ears the three words and eight letters he felt embarrassed to say before. Each time was said with devotion deeper than the last.

Days later, after they applied for the marriage license, signed it in front of Knoa, Luis, and Kayden, and registered their marriage, the certificate they needed finally arrived.

"I know you’re busy with work, so just let me and Knoa go to the orphanage," Knox said after they reached home. They picked the certificate together and decided to spend time alone with each other.

Azrael’s reluctance was apparent. He wouldn’t feel at ease if he let his husband and his son leave by themselves. However, he still wasn’t finished with his work, and his father’s movements became more active.

They decided to keep their marriage a secret temporarily, knowing that Rage would take advantage of their union if he found out.

On top of that, Athan hadn’t yet contacted him, meaning no additional progress in his findings.

Azrael sighed frustratedly. Here beside him seated his gorgeous husband. He wanted to slap himself for not giving him a grandiose wedding as he deserved, yet he was still itching to go on with their wedding night, which was delayed because Knoa didn’t want to be apart from them, feeling so elated upon hearing that Aresh will come home to them soon.

After that, he was so preoccupied with work and discussions with Sandro, that whenever he would come home, Knox was already sleeping.

Azrael parked the car in the basement parking lot of the apartment building. Knox tried to open the door but was a bit confused that it remained locked. He turned to Azrael and was about to ask when he paused at the way he looked at him.

Azrael’s head was rested on his arms folded above the steering wheel. His eyes gazed at Knox with familiar heat, burning brighter as they explored the omega’s face and exposed skin.

Knox swallowed hard. An alpha eyeing his prey is truly captivating and a bit overwhelming. His back tingled from the way his sharp, blazing eyes stopped on his neck.

Azrael broke the tense silence with his voice lowered and demanding, "When will you have your next heat?"

Knox blinked, wondering what the question was for. He answered, still baffled, "Next month."

Azrael stared at him intently, a hint of impatience passed his eyes. He then asked cautiously, "Now that we’re married, can I...can I attempt to...imprint you completely?"

Knox’s heart drummed louder, not just from the question Azrael threw him, but from how he looked at him intensely. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the nervousness invading his chest. He answered his mesmerizing gaze with extreme honesty as he mumbled, "Will you please do it properly this time?"

Azrael’s gaze softened. He leaned forward and reached for his omega, cupping the back of his head and pulling it closer to him. "I can’t wait to do it."

He unbuckled Knox’s seatbelt and motioned him to move on his lap. Knox hesitated, looking at the tinted windows as if worried that they would be seen from outside.

"Dear...," he called out nervously as he let himself be guided by Azrael’s strong arms.

A few moments later, Knox found himself sitting atop Azrael, while the driver seat was inclined fully. From outside, if the windows weren’t tinted, one could only Knox’s figure, sitting backward from the steering wheel.

Knox bit his lower lip. His voice trembled in shame under the scrutinizing look of his husband, exploring his whole body despite still wearing his clothes. "A-Azrael...we shouldn’t do this here..."

"Why not?" Azrael asked amusingly.

Knox bent forward, "It’s...cramped, and what if people see?"

"They won’t. The windows are tinted, and it’s a weekday. People are at work and no one will see us," Azrael insisted.

Knox glanced around. It was true that there weren’t many people dropping by, and most of the slots were empty, but that only made their cars more conspicuous. What if a guard passed by and noticed the car creaking?

Knox was going to shoot another complaint but then Azrael’s next words made him speechless. "Also...it’s one of the things I wanted to try with you. Car sex."

He gave Knox a dirty look and a playful smirk. Knox gasped at the shameless bluntness; his face turned red at the brazen declaration. He was taken aback by Azrael’s boldness which made his heart only race faster.

Fascinated, Azrael took advantage of Knox’s shocked behavior and slid his hands inside his clothes. His smirk softened into a tender, teasing smile as he gently caressed Knox’s hips and back, touching everything his hands could reach and leaving traces of his warmth.

He said those words anticipatedly, but if Knox didn’t want to, he won’t pushed it. His hands were just teasing and seducing him, knowing his husband was a rational one. He admitted his plan sooner, "We don’t have to do anything if you’re uncomfortable. I just wanted to share this moment with you. If we go upstairs now, my men are in my unit, and Knoa will surely latch on us again. I won’t have time to touch you like this again."

Azrael’s voice was so low and soothing, that it poked on Knox’s conscience. The alpha’s touch remained gentle and considerate, making Knox shiver pleasantly.

He took a shaky breath and pressed his lips together, and then without answering his alpha husband, he rubbed himself on his lap, leaving Azrael in surprise.
