Bride To His Darkness
Chapter 111: What Are You Going To Do To Me?

Chapter 111: What Are You Going To Do To Me?

"How cunning." Ivan’s eyes sparkled with mirth when he turned on the door knob to find it locked. Of all things he had imagined his little lamb would do in order to get away from him, locking the door and keeping him out was definitely not on the list.

Surprisingly, his little lamb surely knows how to play the game a lot better than he expected. If it were someone else, she would have won to be more precise, since getting to her while the door was locked would be nearly impossible. But then again, she seems to forget that he wasn’t all human, but a vampire with innate abilities.....and one of those abilities includes breaking the door down with his physical strength, or possibly, unlocking the door using one of his psychic phenomena.

"Let’s play it your way, little lamb." His lips twitched, almost making a smile on his lips as he backed away from the door. He then leaned closer, placing his ear to the door to make out any movements or suspicious sound that would help him locate exactly where she would be hiding.

Meanwhile, inside his chamber, the entire place was dimly illuminated as the heavy curtains concealed the outside world from Samantha’s view, but presently, that wouldn’t be considered a problem to the young maiden. Pacing back and forth, Samantha was yet to comprehend his intention on why he had decided on a hide and seek chase. She found it childish and totally unlike him, not only that but she was more concerned about why she had run away just because he was giving her one of those looks again, and maybe it was time she confronted him, one on one.

She needed to find the courage and face that vampire Lord, she’d point a finger at his face and give him a little piece of–

A stifled gasp escaped her lips when her eyes darted to the door to find the door knob moving, as though someone was trying to open it from the outside. At this rate, Samantha could hear her heart thumping loudly against her chest, and she didn’t make a sound until the movement stopped.

Did he leave?

Thank goodness she locked it, but why was she afraid? Samantha couldn’t find anything sensible to explain why she was anxious, maybe because prince Tobias himself had told her to run, and she was unaware of what Ivan might do to her if he catches her. What did she do exactly??

"Little Lamb."

Hearing the familiar voice call her name outside, Samantha didn’t dare respond and immediately went to find a place to hide. Tiptoeing silently on her bare feet, Samantha tried not to make even the tiniest sounds as her quick eyes darted to Ivan’s bed, and when an idea popped in her head, her emerald eyes gleamed as though she had thought of something brilliant.

Adding more strides, Samantha reached for the door that led to the balcony, opening it and leaving it slightly ajar. When it made a creaking sound, Samantha knew that was what she needed to deceive Ivan about her whereabouts. Thinking she had come up with the best plan, she heard the door knob click loudly as if he had managed to unlock it from outside, and when the door knob began to move again, Samantha immediately went under his bed, staying quiet while also trying to deal with her breathing.

A few moments pass, the room remaining eerily silent. Then the sound of the door creaking open had Samantha clasping her hand on her mouth as if she was hiding from a bandit that had broken into her home and room. Ivan prowls in, closing the door quietly behind him. His eyes gleamed with an otherworldly hunger as he scanned the room, searching for a specific prey that he couldn’t wait to get his hands on.

Samantha’s alarmed eyes fell on the familiar black boots that strided into the room. He came to a stop at the foot of the bed and hushed.

"My sweet little lamb, what is the use of hiding when I can smell your intoxicating scent? Are you going to come out and receive punishment, or should we do this the hard way and I double it for you?"

Samantha bit her lower lips at his luring words, her heart thundering in her chest as she composed herself to remain quiet. Silently assessing the room, Ivan moved to the other side of his bed, his steps silent as he came to another stop, whilst Samantha prayed he didn’t look under the bed.

Ivan’s eyes narrowed subtly, detecting a faint sound that seemed to serenade his senses. Smirking triumphantly, he turned away from the bed.

Samantha’s gaze followed Ivan’s boot that went into the balcony where she had left the door slightly ajar, to her relief. When he disappeared from her sight, she quickly got out from under the bed, wanting to escape from the room since he seemed hell-bent on not stopping till he found her.

"Little Lamb."

"Eek!!"

Samantha halted at the entrance when he called her by that specific name. Slowly turning around, she found Ivan standing close to the balcony door, his crimson eyes watching her as a slow sadistic smile curled his lips.

"I assumed you’d come out yourself, be a good little lamb and get over here." He began walking in her direction.

"Ah! No!" Turning around, Samantha immediately dashed out of his room, but when she turned to see if he was still following her, he was. He wasn’t running, even his strides were measured, but Samantha knew he would find her, he always does, and that meant she had to keep running.

When Samantha ran past a few guards who were guarding an entrance way to the courtyard, her actions had left them unmistakably baffled, but when they saw Lord Ivan also heading in the same direction a few minutes later, they wanted to go after her, taking it that she might have done something to anger their Lordship, but to their surprise, Ivan was quick to stop them from going after her.

"Is there a problem?" One of the guards had asked just to ensure his safety, and Ivan shook his head before eyeing the direction his little lamb had taken.

"This is my chase." He said to the guards and continued moving. It was unlike Lord Ivan to chase after a woman, and the guards exchanged glances, hoping they weren’t daydreaming.

Samantha, who had made it to the servants quarters on time, immediately knocked on Lucy’s door. It didn’t take Lucy up to a minute to open the door, but before she could say a word to her friend, the flustered maiden had rushed into her room, closing the door and locking it from inside. Lucy, who had been caught off-guard by her friend’s action, watched in baffled silence as Samantha tried to catch her breath.

"Are you alright? Did someone follow you here? I need to know in case there’s a chance I’m kicking you out." Lucy said to her friend who was still in the middle of catching her breath, and then she turned to Lucy.

"If he comes, I’m not here." Samantha quickly said to the puzzled Lucy before going to hide behind the curtains.

"Who exactly?"

It wasn’t too long after Samantha had dropped that one information did she hear another knock. Opening the door to see who was bothering her friend, Lucy was stunned to find Lord Ivan standing outside - the insults she had been planning to deliver to whoever was making her friend hide, were immediately swallowed by her.

"My Lordship? What.... brings you to the servants quarters?"

"A little lamb of mine has wandered off, did she perhaps find her way here?" He asked, but before Lucy could respond, he silenced her. "Can I come in?"

"Uhm..yes! Why not?"

Lucy nodded immediately as she let him in, infact, she personally showed Ivan where Samantha was hiding. Quietly, Ivan approached the curtain that concealed his prey. When he opened it up, Samantha froze at the sight of him, but before she could think or do anything else, Ivan had grabbed her wrist and thrown her on his shoulder.

"You are a good servant uhm... What is your name again?"

"Lucienne, My Lord."

"You’ll be rewarded for this, little lamb, let’s go."

"You bailed on me!" Samantha stared at Lucy with wide eyes, feeling betrayed, but she eventually came to her senses when Ivan finally took her out of the room, and she was now aware of the multiple servants staring at them, making her feel flustered and her face blooming red.

"You didn’t think I’d be that confident enough to step in here? You underestimate me." Ivan tsked, and Samantha couldn’t believe he was openly carrying her on his shoulder for everyone to see.

"What are you going to do to me? If I’m going to die, can you give me an easy death? Perhaps give me poison to drink? I don’t want to be beheaded."

By this time, Ivan had already brought her back to his chamber, and he dropped her to her feet, but when she made an attempt to slip from his clutches, he blocked her path. Feeling cornered in all angles, Samantha moved back, but she hadn’t realized she was moving closer to the wall, whilst her head gently hit the tapestries.

"Why do you speak of death?"

"Aren’t you an angel of Death?"

"I’ll believe that when I grow wings." He teased, but then he noticed his little lamb was still conscious of his intention. "What are you going to do to me?"

"Hmm....care to guess?" His beautiful fingers suddenly grabbed her throat, making her eyes widen in apprehension. His hold wasn’t threatening to say the least, but it was firm.

"Are you.... going to choke me?"

"No, little lamb." He leaned forward, closing the gap between them as he looked straight into her sparkling green eyes, and then he whispered close to her lips. "I’m going to kiss you deep, little lamb, so incredibly deep until you forget whose air you’re breathing."
