Bride To His Darkness
Chapter 107: Shades Of Possesiveness

Chapter 107: Shades Of Possesiveness

"W-what?" Samantha’s pupils dilated, and her eyes widened. "....you just said?" She subconsciously shifted back on the bed, as if to escape from the impromptu question he had asked - to avoid him most notably, but to her surprise, he grabbed both of her hands that she had used to support herself in leaning back, and she inadvertently met his crimson eyes that demanded her attention.

"Running away? Well I can’t let that happen." He admitted softly, sounding partially frustrated. "This is all new to me, I need to understand what is going on, in my head, in my heart, and unfortunately for you, you’re going to have to help me get to the bottom of it. Listen, I am silently going out of my mind here, and your silence..? It’s making it harder for me to comprehend."

He let go of her hand when he sensed she wasn’t going to pull back any further, but he didn’t pull away from his position. Jerking his head slightly upward to push the strands of hair that disturbed his face, he let out a puff of air before meeting his little lamb’s dazed countenance.

"Maybe I’m being punished." He said conclusively, "I don’t know what it is but I can’t stop thinking about it.... about you, and believe me when I say I have tried. In all honesty, It’s the only thing I can think about and so I thought... Maybe if I did it again, satisfy these cravings, it could go away." It has to, thought Ivan who kept switching glances between her tempting lips to her alluring green eyes. He had so much to think about, many issues that needed his attention considering the four Lord’s were here, but how can he sort them out when his little lamb had chosen to occupy the entire space in his mind? And when he breathed in, her floral scent that reminded him of Jasmine and balsamic took over.

It was impossible to work where his mind was right now.

Samantha felt the weight of his words hanging on her shoulder, and her hands subconsciously grabbed the bedsheet, steading her resolve. It was difficult, but she had somehow managed to successfully pull that kiss at the back of her mind, promising herself never to dwell on it as it meant nothing. She didn’t want to wake up and remember that she had lost her first kiss to a vampire Lord... not that she had a problem with his kind, but he was someone she barely had feelings for..... or so she thought.

She never imagined her life would turn out to be this complicated, and she wanted to avoid it the best way she could by pushing the memories of his touch from her mind, but here he is, requesting she lets him kiss her again and ruin what she worked hard on to block away? Absolutely not!

"I’m afraid I’ll have to decline."

"Why? Do you have a problem with it?" He arched an eyebrow at her, giving her a serious look that told her he didn’t believe it. "If you hated it that much, then the least you would have done was rage, make a complaint, but then, I do not know you as someone who stays silent about what they hate, little lamb."

"I get the point you’re trying to prove, but please do not take my silence for approval and be so quick to judge. You do not know me that well." Samantha turned her head to the side to avoid looking into his eyes, and she was unable to suppress the sudden beating of her heart. "I.... understand your reasons for doing what you did last night, which is why I decided to brush it off. What happened was nothing more than an act we pulled in order to fool your family, and it will be better if we do not discuss it any further....I have no intention of remembering it."

"Bullshit." Ivan murmured a cuss before letting out a pained laugh, and Samantha did not fail to grasp his one offensive word.

"What did you say?" She frowned unknowingly, but Ivan clicked his tongue before licking his lips.

"Do not deny it," he met her brilliant green eyes. "What happened was more than just a sharing what we had to offer. We both felt it, your reaction was conceded, and while you go on about your day like everything is fine, I’m the only one whose suffering, trying to understand what is wrong with me, but today I need to understand what is happening before I go all out of my senses. You’re not the only one who doesn’t want to feel like this, okay? The last thing I ever felt worried about was having my emotions mixed, and I did a good job damaging myself. It has come back to haunt me and you don’t know how hard I battle with these feelings."

"You have somewhere important to be..." Samantha stood up from the bed, using it as her cue to escape before she eventually fell into his trap. "I am not comfortable having this discussion with- hey, let go of me! What are you–" Samantha’s eyes widened when he grabbed her hand and pinned her back to the wall, but before she could cry out her protest, his lips were on hers again, making her freeze from the contact.

When he pulled back, Ivan’s eyes were staring right into her own, and for a brief moment no one uttered a word. "You’re quite awful at telling lies when it comes to your emotions...my little lamb." Ivan’s voice had turned gravelly, snapping Samantha back to the reality that had hit her with another feel of his mouth on hers.

"This is very inappropriate, My Lord." Samantha managed to say, drawing out the Lord in a sharp tone so he’d stay aware of the formalities between them. There was a tight difference between their background, their kind, and Samantha did not want to let herself get personally involved in a marriage with one. She had no allies, no powerful families or a kingdom that would assist him if EmptyHollow lands in terrible danger.

She was nothing.

"I want you to admit it to me." He breached the closeness between them. "I don’t know why but I’m losing grip here, and the cause of it can’t tell me that she feels absolutely nothing, I won’t accept it! You’re not escaping this so lay it out for me little lamb, or I’ll make use of my second choice...one you will not approve of."

"C-can we calm down?" Samantha slowly retreated when Ivan’s irises turned oval in shape, and the dark shade in his eyes, everything about signified his possessiveness. She had let her brother read a few books to her, and she had heard of certain creatures that tend to be possessive when their eyes turn three shades darker than their initial form, but... She wasn’t frightened by it.

"Your heart is racing." He whispered, bringing Sam’s attention back to him. "I can hear every heartbeat of yours, Little Lamb, and they hold no fear. Stop with the act and tell me you don’t feel the same need that I do."

"I-I don’t." Samantha hesitantly denied, but she tried to keep her resolve. "Please don’t make me do this, I- I don’t like you that way...so I can’t possibly have any romantic interest in you. Forcing me to accept it won’t change the truth and that is that I harbor no type of feelings for you. You’re my Lord, I’m your servant, let’s keep it that way."

"Servant?" Ivan scoffed and drew her between his legs, "you’re mine, and that is no position a servant will ever hold to me. Don’t you get that?"

In the middle of the rising tension, an unexpected knock on the door suddenly interrupted their moment. When Samantha thought it was an opportunity to escape from Lord Ivan, she heard him say. "come in."

"Huh?!"

In no time, the door opened, and Lucy, who was about to step in immediately did a U-turn at the sight she was welcomed with.

"Speak."

"Uhm-yes-I..... Herbert says it is time to leave, My Lord." Lucy quickly informed, but Ivan didn’t move away from his little lamb before saying. "I’ll be there in five minutes."

"There’s no rush my Lord, please take your time." Lucy assured him with a smile of mischief before closing the door quietly.

Due to the information, Ivan had to let go of his little lamb, gently loosening his grasps, and when he turned to her, he added. "we’re not done with this conversation, I’ll need you to make up your mind."

And he left.

Samantha, who waited for him to leave could feel her legs sink to the ground, and now, she needed to get some serious rest.

Ivan showed up outside where his black powerful steed was waiting for him. Herbert who noticed his Lordship’s troubled mood, decided to stay and watch him get on top his steed before asking. "Are you sure you do not need company?"

"No," Ivan shook his head slightly. "Keep an eye on my little lamb till I return, I won’t be long. Presently, I’m going to check if my lovely little trap has caught any of the hunters."
