Chapter 61:Touch of Déjà Vu

A few minutes passed quickly, and Zara—who once looked like a beggar—was now cleaned up and looked much better. A warm smile graced her face as she followed Zaiyila to the nearby restaurant.

"Eat something first," Zaiyila urged, placing the menu in front of her.

"I... I’m fine with anything," Zara murmured, not daring to order freely and hoping to appear unpicky.

Zaiyila sighed and selected some food before handing the menu back to the waiter.

She looked at Zara and sighed again. "You still want to abort the child?" she inquired.

Zara remained silent.

"Well... if you change your mind and decide not to abort the baby, I can help you," Zaiyila offered gently.

Zara’s eyes widened, and she almost lost her composure. "Re... really?" she stammered, tears welling up in her eyes.

Zaiyila nodded in response. "Yes. But if you still want to go through with it, I won’t stop you—it’s your decision," she added.

"No... no, I’m not aborting. I want to give birth to my baby," Zara cried, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Zaiyila didn’t quite know how to console her. Just then, the waiter arrived with their order. "Erm... eat something first. Staying hungry isn’t good for the baby’s health," she commented.

Zara nodded and, with teary eyes, began to eat.

"What a coincidence. My Queen is here as well," a familiar voice echoed, causing both girls to lift their heads toward the source.

Zaiyila was surprised. "Eryx, you’re here too," she greeted him warmly. "Come and sit down."

Eryx smiled, though his gaze fell on Zaiyila’s neck, and a faint frown flickered across his face. He quickly masked it with a soft smile and took the seat beside her.

"Did My Queen miss me?" he teased.

Zaiyila’s face flushed with embarrassment, and she scratched the back of her head. "Um... I won’t lie. I almost forgot about you," she confessed.

Eryx smiled, wanting to sulk, but kept his composure. "Damn you, Everett. Must you occupy all her heart?" he cursed silently.

"It’s understandable. After all, we’ve only met once. I know My Queen will have more time for me in the future," he responded calmly.

Zaiyila chuckled. "Sure."

Zara’s gaze darted between the two of them as they joked and laughed. Of course, she recognized Eryx—and that was exactly why she didn’t want to draw any attention to herself.

"I didn’t expect my sister to be so popular. She even knows the acting god!" she screamed inwardly, looking at Zaiyila with admiration.

Zaiyila took a spoonful of food, then turned to Eryx. "Right, I wanted to ask you something, Eve—Eryx," she corrected herself quickly.

Eryx was now feeling irritated, but did he dare show it to Zaiyila? Of course not. He could only vent his frustration on the one who wasn’t present.

"Many curses on you, Everett. You’ve taken her heart so completely that she’s calling your name everywhere," he grumbled inwardly, though he looked at Zaiyila with a sweet smile.

"Please ask—I’m all ears," he encouraged.

"Um... actually, I wanted to ask if you and Eve are related in any way by blood," Zaiyila questioned carefully, avoiding the word "twins."

Eryx stayed silent for a moment. Seeing the curious look on Zaiyila’s face, he sighed. "No... we’re not related," he replied.

"Oh." Zaiyila nodded. "I was just wondering, don’t mind me," she added with a sweet smile. Then she turned to Zara, who was quietly eating.

"Ah, my bad. Let me introduce you—Eryx, this is my sister, Zara," she announced warmly.

Zara was stunned. She hadn’t expected Zaiyila to acknowledge her as her sister—it felt like a dream. But what shocked her even more was that she was being introduced to the world-renowned acting god. Her heart swelled with excitement; she wasn’t even sure how to react.

She turned to Eryx to greet him, but one cold glance from him sent a chill through her chest that lingered painfully.

Zaiyila clearly saw the icy look Eryx gave Zara and couldn’t help recalling Everett. "They really are quite similar," she thought, gently tapping the table to catch Eryx’s attention.

"You... do you have something important to do?" she asked.

Eryx shook his head. "I came to try their food. I don’t really have anything else planned," he responded.

"Um... I heard from Lizzy that you’re an actor. If you don’t mind... could you help my sister? She’s quite good at acting," Zaiyila suggested.

Zara dropped her spoon, her eyes wide. Her heart raced with both anxiety and excitement—it was all too much to process.

Eryx remained silent for a moment. "I can, but I have a condition," he proposed.

"What is it?" Zaiyila asked, unfazed.

"There’s this movie I’m working on. I’m not fond of the actresses they’ve selected for the female lead, and it’s slowing down production. If My Queen doesn’t mind, could you be the female lead?" he proposed.

Zaiyila’s eyes widened. "Hey, don’t entrust such an important role to me! I’m not even good at acting," she protested.

Eryx smiled. "Since you’ll be acting with me, I’ll cover up any flaws. And of course, you’ll be paid accordingly," he promised.

Zaiyila thought for a moment, then nodded. "Why don’t you just accept the other actresses?" she asked curiously.

"Can I touch your face?" Eryx requested politely.

"Ehn?" Zaiyila blinked at him in confusion.

"I just want to confirm something," he clarified.

"Oh, okay." Zaiyila wiped her mouth and turned back to Eryx.

He reached out and gently caressed her face, looking into her eyes with a soft smile. "Now I feel better—I’ve been longing to touch her," he thought.

Zaiyila stared back at Eryx. "Even his touch is the same as Eve’s... but they both deny being related. I don’t even know what I’m feeling right now. The only difference is Eryx’s hand is cold, while Eve’s is always warm. But the more I look at Eryx... the more he feels like my husband," she thought.
