The black tea emanated a charming rich aroma, and she obediently drank it when he brought it to her. Then, she placed the empty cup on the nearby tea table.

The atmosphere seemed somewhat unpleasant, with Charlotte Miller’s silence and Atlas Hallow’s restrained anger. But why was he angry?

She was the one scared today, she was the one bitten and in pain. What more did he want?

Just then, there was a gentle knock on the office door, and a few seconds later, Daniel Parker entered.

"President Hallow, Mr. Shaw is already here, waiting outside." Everything in the office appeared normal, yet even Daniel Parker felt a slight discomfort because the boss’s expression did not look good.

"Let him wait." Atlas Hallow coldly replied, and Daniel Parker swiftly turned around and exited the office.

Right now, the president’s office was not a place to linger.

"If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave first. You have a guest, don’t you?" Charlotte Miller looked at Atlas Hallow standing in front of her, feeling as if he was a huge mountain exerting boundless pressure, making even looking up at him a strain.

A drawn-out sigh resonated in the depths of Atlas Hallow’s heart. Her gaze was so clear yet carried a hint of fear. This wasn’t the outcome he desired, but if fear could keep her from daring to escape, perhaps it wasn’t a bad thing.

"I’ll have Daniel Parker prepare lunch for you. Make sure to eat well, okay?" He leaned down and gently stroked her hair, as his chill, minty aura lingered around her, tightly enclosing her.

Charlotte Miller nodded, then stood up and walked out of the office.

Until the moment the door closed, his scent gradually dissipated a bit, though it couldn’t be completely erased. Because this man’s presence seemed like a brand, deeply imprinted in her life.

Perhaps he was special, for it was he who transformed her from a girl into a woman. This man led her through a transition from one identity to another, a pivotal change in a woman’s life.

As Charlotte Miller walked out, she brushed past another man without sparing him a glance.

The downturn in her mood made even the sky seem bleak. Ultimately, the most challenging thing wasn’t the complex data she once thought, but understanding human emotions, especially Atlas Hallow’s.

"Telling me to wait, can you really say that?" Joseph Shaw walked into the office with a face full of displeasure, sat on the sofa, took a cigarette out of his pocket, and tossed another one. The cigarette drew a parabola through the air before accurately landing between Atlas Hallow’s fingers.

"How is the progress?" Atlas Hallow paid no mind to Joseph Shaw’s complaints, lit the cigarette and took a harsh puff, sultry lips exhaling white smoke slowly rising up and slightly softening his sharp features.

"Several companies have submitted proposals, and I’ve got my eye on two. What’s your opinion?" This was a project Joseph Shaw and Atlas Hallow were collaborating on together, involving unprecedented relationships and enormous sums. Solo eating could never fatten someone up, a truth both were well aware of.

It wasn’t the first time Atlas Hallow and Joseph Shaw collaborated.

"You decide, I have no objections." Atlas Hallow rubbed his temple, feeling somewhat headache.

Joseph Shaw almost spat out a mouthful of blood. He surely could have no opinions, having no opinions was relaxing, wasn’t it?
