Chapter 60: 059 Have I already lost you?
Hailey Hill watched Charlotte Miller serving them coffee, the closer she got, the more her heart ached.
Although she held the title of CEO’s wife, Charlotte was still meticulous when serving coffee as a secretary.
She bent slightly and placed the coffee on the coffee table in front of the sofa. Hailey’s gaze fell on Charlotte’s hands, which had five tiny dimples on the back. Her fingers were slender and delicate like scallions, the skin on her hands white and smooth, soft as if boneless, exuding a faint fragrance as though of flowers or fruits—a unique scent. Her hands were so captivating, not to mention her bright yet gentle face.
Charlotte was undeniably beautiful, the kind that captivated one’s heart; no wonder Atlas Hallow was moved.
Hailey was just here for a glance, wanting to know what kind of woman could enter the CEO’s office.
Visitors to Atlas Hallow’s office were rare, especially female ones. What kind of prominent person could come here? The CEO’s office on the top floor had become a forbidden area, yet this woman was sitting boldly in Atlas Hallow’s office waiting for him. Charlotte was quite curious.
So she intercepted the two cups of coffee being brought in, partly because of Daniel Parker’s attitude, leading Charlotte to deduce that this woman had a close relationship with Atlas Hallow.
Her gaze unobtrusively swept over the woman sitting on the sofa. She wore a smoky-grey long dress, and her emerald coat was draped over a nearby armrest. Her long hair curled and draped down, one side tucked behind her ear, revealing emerald earrings that shimmered.
Everything about this woman seemed perfect in detail, yet she carried a strange feeling, one that couldn’t be pinpointed—something was missing?
But she was perfectly formed, her voice pleasing; everything appeared good with nothing lacking.
She couldn’t linger, because as a secretary that was her boundary. Holding the tray, her gaze shifted from the woman’s body, sweeping over Atlas Hallow as her eyes met his, only to find those eyes like the surface of the sea at night—dangerous yet calm.
Today she acted impulsively, troubling Daniel Parker and displeasing Atlas Hallow, but she wasn’t afraid.
Some things she should know, and she wished to know the whereabouts of Atlas Hallow who didn’t return all night—was it at this woman’s house where he changed that set of clothes?
Outside the Hallow Family villa, Atlas Hallow had another place to stay, which always sparked Charlotte’s curiosity.
Curiosity might really kill the cat, while not knowing felt worse than death; her personality couldn’t change.
"President Hallow, do you need anything else?" Her watery eyes blinked as she looked at Atlas Hallow with a smile that obscured her inner thoughts.
"No need..." the man’s pure, magnetic voice floated in the air, and upon hearing these three words, Charlotte quietly retreated, gently closing the door behind her.
Hailey Hill clenched her fists tightly, the sharp nails piercing into her tender palm, almost drawing blood.
Because she clearly saw a deep red kiss mark inside Charlotte’s slightly unbuttoned collar, it resembled a blossoming red cornel, hidden within the shirt, stabbing her eyes to the point of bleeding.
Were such marks present all over her body?
"Atlas, have I already lost you?" This time, she no longer controlled her tears, because she already couldn’t—they fell one by one.
No amount of imagination compared to seeing it with her own eyes; experiencing it, Charlotte’s beauty sliced her heart like a knife...
