Chapter 54: 052 I like hearing you call, Mrs. Hallow
Charlotte Miller’s heart was about to leap out of her chest, her brain buzzing; she had no idea that resisting this man would bring such a thrilling pleasure.
It felt like raging waves surging up and down her entire body, as if she couldn’t hear anything, yet could clearly hear her own intense heartbeat.
Her heart was almost jumping out...
Her finger was just a hair’s breadth away, just a millimeter from touching that cold button.
To her, that button seemed like it could open a door to escape, making her want to laugh and cry at the same time, even her fingers trembling.
The air felt like it had solidified all around her, Charlotte watched her own finger reaching out in slow motion like in a movie; it was so close to touching, but was blocked by another large hand.
Her heartbeats were off the charts, screaming to break free, but she was held even tighter.
From the moment she fled the door to the elevator, it was probably two minutes, yet it felt like a two-hour adventure movie, but the ending wasn’t so happy.
In the movies, the heroine always manages to escape the clutches, but she was an exception, caught right at the very last step.
He had the audacity to just walk out like that, without wearing clothes.
Not a single piece of clothing.
Wasn’t he afraid someone might come up?
"Where do you think you’re going? Do you like doing it outside? So you like thrills, huh?" Atlas Hallow looked at Charlotte, whose amber eyes flickered with countless lights, each seeming to pierce painfully.
"No... it’s not..." she stammered, seeing the towering figure of Atlas Hallow in front of her, her heart suddenly shrank as if she had encountered a Beast.
"What’s wrong? Charlotte, what are you running from? What are you resisting?" Atlas Hallow’s displeasure flashed into the air like thunder and lightning, as he gripped her chin a little too tightly, quickly leaving red marks on her pale chin.
With a bit more force, she’d likely have her chin bone crushed.
The pain snapped Charlotte’s awareness back to consciousness, as she shouted, "Let go of me..."
She hated him like this, his eyes filled with ferocity, as if he were someone she completely didn’t recognize.
"Let go of you, why?" Atlas Hallow laughed lowly, looking at her like a cornered animal, with a glimmer of hope in her eyes that was quickly clouded by despair, the sensation of holding her in his hand was too wonderful, he leisurely savored her beauty, even her fear and tension were so enticing.
Downstairs, the servants were tidying up the living room, seemingly aware of the sounds floating down from upstairs, the entire large living room was open, and the woman’s voice mingled with the light reflected by the massive crystal chandelier, as if calling for help, as if struggling.
The housekeeper stood by the fireplace, his back to the light, his sharp gaze sweeping over the servants cleaning up, clearly warning them that this was none of their business.
Charlotte was so tense her whole body stiffened, and when Atlas Hallow pressed her against the marble wall by the elevator, she was about to cry.
His intentions couldn’t be clearer, but this wasn’t the bedroom, their space.
"You like thrills, so I’ll satisfy you a bit," Atlas Hallow said lowly, as his muscular arm lifted her long leg to hang across it, mercilessly advancing when she was completely unprepared...
Her mind felt like it exploded from the pain, her entire being nearly passing out, Charlotte bit her lip to keep herself from making a sound.
She knew there were people downstairs, she didn’t want them to hear.
Yet Atlas Hallow didn’t seem to like her silence at all, his fingers prying into her mouth, exploring past her pearly teeth, whispering at her ear, "I like to hear you scream, Mrs. Hallow."
The frenzy and excruciating pain struck all at once...
