Chapter 45: 043 What exactly does he want?

What did he hear? How much did he hear?

Charlotte suddenly realized she’d made a big mistake. This kind of thing definitely shouldn’t have been said at Hallow Clan. Even if Atlas couldn’t hear it himself, surely every corner of the company had his eyes and ears. Otherwise, how could he control such a large company so well?

If any of the words she’d just said displeased him, she’d be the one to suffer for it.

The man’s palm on her waist radiated heat, feeling as if it was starting to burn. He seemed to want to project his powerful aura into her body through the warmth, using his presence to subconsciously make people obey him.

"Charlotte, look how much more enthusiasm our brother-in-law has compared to you." Luna’s eyes were lined with exquisite eyeliner, her seductive glance drifting over Atlas’s rugged face. She swayed her hips as she walked into Atlas’s office, brushing past Charlotte with a slight, unintendedly triumphant smile.

Charlotte lowered her head and bit her lip, feeling a bit anxious. With Luna’s intelligence, if she tried to contend with Atlas, she’d be dead in the water by the first round. Whether she could survive depended on what tricks Atlas wanted to play. Yet, she was still arrogantly pleased with herself, as if courting disaster.

Atlas wouldn’t show mercy just because Luna called him brother-in-law. Just look at Ava Walker’s fate to know.

The office was so large it was jaw-dropping. This was Luna’s first time here.

Feeling a bit envious, she thought that even if Atlas had some deficiencies in certain areas, apart from that, he could be considered a perfect man, maybe even worth 101 points without the fear of him becoming arrogant.

But she couldn’t bear the thought of being a widow in her twenties. If she married him and had an affair, it might anger her father to death, so she couldn’t bring herself to do it for now. Besides, Jack Smith was just too enticing.

Jack Smith fulfilled all her vanity. After all, so many women, both older and younger, liked him. But he was hers, and this thought kept her excited all day, as if she’d been injected with adrenaline.

"Should I call you President Hallow, brother-in-law, or just Atlas?" Luna laughed, her eyes filled with emotion, glancing up and down. Although Jack Smith was good-looking, when it came to mature male charisma, Atlas had the upper hand.

"Anything’s fine." Atlas shrugged, wrapping an arm around Charlotte as he sat down. Facing Luna, he remained as steady as a rock, without a hint of awkwardness, as if the woman who had been sitting on his lap not long ago was not the one he was now facing.

"I’ll stick with brother-in-law. Calling you President Hallow feels too distant, and calling you Atlas might make Charlotte jealous. You don’t know how peculiar this little girl’s temper has been since she was young." Luna glanced at the silent Charlotte and restrained herself. Flirting with useless men only had superficial appeal; it wasn’t thrilling at all when it got serious.

"Is there something you needed?" Atlas asked bluntly. As he spoke, Charlotte’s body noticeably stiffened, and he played with her small hand in his palm, not caring about these intimate gestures in front of Luna.

Luna laughed to herself inwardly. Why pretend to be so close with Charlotte at a time like this when he had physiological barriers? Was it to show off to her? What was he trying to hide?

"It’s like this: I have a good friend named Jack Smith, who’s the hottest star right now. He started out as a singer, and now he’s moving into the film industry, starting to make movies. I want to establish a talent agency to manage Jack’s daily work affairs and invest in his new movie, which would require about fifty million. Also, the new movie is a fashion drama, and I was hoping to use one of Hallow Clan’s locations to shoot a few scenes. That shouldn’t be a problem, right?" Luna spoke with tenfold confidence.

After all, given that he has issues, the Miller Family still sent a daughter to the Hallow Family. This kind of minor issue should be easily agreed upon, right?

Charlotte felt like her small hand in his was just a soft lump of clay, and he happily toyed with it like a child, not even looking up, as he casually passed the question back to her.

"Do you think it’s possible?" Atlas asked, looking at her extremely delicate hand, white and smooth as jade, which he couldn’t resist.

If she thought it was possible, would he let her borrow it? This didn’t seem like Atlas Hallow’s style, right?

What on earth was he planning?
