Chapter 165: 112 The things she likes_2

Does he really want a child?

Charlotte already said she needs a bit of time, but Atlas Hallow is already impatient.

It seems a bit unruly.

Should she correct it?

Charlotte stands by the window, admiring the sunset’s glow. Her gaze falls on the building across the street; even though separated by a street, the view is crystal clear. If her heart is handed over irrevocably, then she must understand the entire story behind everything.

If she really had to bear a child for him, she would be willing, but only after everything is clarified.

He doesn’t speak, but she naturally has ways to find out.

Charlotte is now free from worries; her parents have gone far away to the United States, under the protection of the Baird Family. Her sister went to South Korea; she heard the money came from someone else. Charlotte guesses it was Jack Smith, but she doesn’t want to ask more.

The day she sent her parents to the airport, she clearly explained that if one day her sister suffers some harm, just see it as a gift of growth. She can no longer help her, nor can she assist her for a lifetime. Henceforth, Luna must take responsibility for her own affairs. She only acquiesced to Luna borrowing that fifty million debt, after that she couldn’t meddle anymore.

So now she’s carefree, wanting to figure out the real reason Atlas Hallow married her, and also the relationship between Hailey Hill and the entire Hallow Family, and what secret Ava Walker holds concerning the Hallow Family.

Once everything is understood, she’ll decide whether to stay and have a child for him.

If it’s been deceit from beginning to end, then no matter how much she likes him, no matter how she feels about him, no matter how painful the separation is, she won’t hesitate.

The phone ringing interrupted her floating thoughts; maybe her body endured too much, so even her mind became extremely sensitive.

"Awake?" The man’s deep voice rose softly, with an alluring magnetism.

"Mmm..." Charlotte lightly responded, seemingly in a playful tone.

"Eat something yourself, I have an engagement tonight and might come back late." Atlas Hallow seemed to hear her distractedness through the phone waves: "Never mind, I’ll bring dinner back. I’ll have dinner with you, then head out. What do you want to eat?"

It’s as if he couldn’t bear to leave her alone in such a big room, envisioning her alone in the living room immersed in winter’s cold dusk.

"Pizza, I want the cheesy kind." Now she needed lots of calories to replenish her exhausted energy.

After hanging up the phone, Charlotte wondered if she was an unkind or unthoughtful woman, a wife whose husband had things to do yet took the time to be with her. And she didn’t respond as gently as the women in TV or movies, saying: "No need to accompany me; drink less alcohol, be safe..." or other considerate words, but instead agreed for him to come back and have dinner with her.

But she just didn’t want to be so generous; she wanted him to come back because she had questions to ask him.

As the door opened, the aroma of food also wafted in.

Atlas Hallow carried a large brown paper bag of food in one hand, and with the other, wrapped Charlotte’s waist and kissed her cheek: "Mrs. Hallow, is it time to say good evening?"

"Good evening, Mr. Hallow." Charlotte smiled radiantly; seeing him bearing food, it was hard not to feel happy.

Charlotte tidied the table before he returned. The Christmas tree, shining with charming light, was placed by her beside the bookshelf. She was indeed an extraordinary girl, with such a gift she didn’t store it in a safe but casually placed it on the shelf, yet Atlas Hallow liked her for her uniqueness.

Opening the big paper box, the pizza was still steaming. Charlotte couldn’t wait to snatch a slice, tilting her head to bite off the long cheese strings, then started eating heartily, without any semblance of a noble lady.

"Is it really that hungry?" Atlas Hallow also grabbed a slice, sat beside her, accompanying her in the meal.

On the table were also fries, various salads, fruit, and different juice beverages. He didn’t know which flavors she liked, so he bought a variety.

"You probably never had the chance to try it because you can’t be a woman anyhow; even as a man, I can’t be as willful as you. I prefer taking things slow." Charlotte glared at Atlas Hallow; the one who exhausted her energy yesterday was him, wasn’t it? Now doubting her hunger—utterly annoying.
