Chapter 156: 109 Don’t you like a woman’s body?

Everyone harbors their own motives, and this is a long and dangerous road. Who will be the first to reach their desired destination? Even Atlas Hallow has his own purpose amid the chaos.

Yet, even the brightest minds cannot escape the hand of fate.

It is still this moving hand of fate that drives everyone step by step, pushing them onto the giant gears, beginning to turn...

Atlas Hallow received definite news from Daniel Parker just as Christmas arrived.

"I’ve already found the person, a fourth-year student with excellent grades. The health check report shows she’s in great health. When are we scheduling the surgery?" Daniel Parker couldn’t quite understand why his boss was doing this; it seemed somewhat baffling.

He seemed to know a little vaguely, but he didn’t want to guess further and certainly couldn’t ask more questions.

"I understand." Atlas Hallow’s eyes became dark and somber; ultimately, they still had to come to this point.

This kind of thing wasn’t difficult to execute flawlessly, yet he didn’t know why he felt irritated.

Perhaps because he liked her too much, liked her so deeply that he couldn’t bear to pull such tricks on her.

Christmas wasn’t a holiday for him; there was too much to do. The past two days, he had practically no time to sleep, let alone have a proper conversation with her.

But she was always not far from him, which gave him some peace of mind.

Atlas Hallow rubbed his eyes and stood up, instructing Daniel Parker to prepare afternoon tea. Suddenly, he felt quite tired.

"Come to my office." He pressed the intercom button on the desk, hearing soft answer, "Alright..."

From her office to his, it should take about two to three minutes, right?

The carpet was laid thick, yet he could hear the sound of footsteps from her office as the door opened and she walked over.

This feeling was peculiar, something he had never experienced before. He could see her through all obstructions.

Charlotte Miller didn’t know why Atlas Hallow was calling her; she had been crazily busy lately, with everything needing to be settled before New Year’s Day. Atlas planned to take her on a holiday, even though it was only three days; it seemed somewhat exciting. They had never had a proper vacation together before.

Atlas said he would arrange everything, but where could they go in three days?

Without the hassle, having fun sounds perfect. Lately, she felt as if wound-up, busy to the point of exhaustion.

The thought of holiday made her step lightened with joy.

Opening the door to Atlas Hallow’s office, he was already sitting on the sofa. Was there no work anymore? He seemed to be resting leisurely.

Charlotte walked over and sat beside him, tilting her head with a smile, "President Hallow, you’re being lazy."

His eyes were pitch-black at this moment, no stars, no moon, like a mysterious black hole sucking souls away.

"Why don’t you ever praise me when I work overtime?" Atlas Hallow’s smile had a charm that drew hearts closer, even his ruggedly angular chin appeared less severe.

Though it was winter, today there was unusual sunlight, making the top floor well-lit enough that even those precious indoor plants seemed to gain a lush hue from the sunlight.

The office door was lightly knocked twice, and as it opened, the rich aroma of coffee filled the room.

A silver, exquisite little trolley carried two beautifully arranged three-tier plates.

"Afternoon tea?" Amidst the busy times, being able to enjoy such delicious afternoon tea, Charlotte’s eyes curved with a smile. She indeed felt a bit hungry.

The chef from the restaurant unexpectedly crafted such authentic English afternoon tea - organized on three-tier porcelain plates. The first tier contained sandwiches, the second tier traditional English scones, and the third cakes and fruit tarts. The proper sequence is to eat from the bottom to the top. The way to eat scones is spreading jam first, then butter; after finishing one bite, spread the next.

If strictly adhering to afternoon tea etiquette, the sequence of snacks should follow the taste from mild to rich, from salty to sweet.

She was eager to help Assistant Parker set up the snacks and then called, "Assistant Parker, join us for afternoon tea."

How could that be? Daniel Parker respectfully responded, "I have matters to attend..." and then quickly exited.

She could enjoy afternoon tea with Atlas Hallow because she was his woman. Staying here, what would that mean for Assistant Parker? Seeking trouble, perhaps?

Charlotte followed the protocol, first tasting the slightly salty sandwich; inside elegantly smoked ham nestled between the bread, and then sipping aromatic tea: "This tastes great, you should try it." Charlotte handed the partly-bitten sandwich to Atlas Hallow, her eyes fixed on the jam-spread scones and the creamy, fresh fruit tart.

Atlas Hallow opened his mouth, and Charlotte pushed half of the sandwich into it.

In truth, she didn’t want to eat too many sandwiches; the sweet snacks looked more tempting than the piece she held.

"Are you that hungry?" Atlas Hallow noticed Charlotte’s yearning expression as she seemed ready to devour all the sweets, pulling her close in his embrace and softly kissing her lips.

"Hmm, I don’t know, my appetite has been great lately." Charlotte nodded; maybe it was due to the increased workload, but it seemed she really had a great appetite now.

"Your appetite has always been good, hasn’t it?" She spoke with a charm that made Atlas Hallow chuckle, a deep laugh resonating from his chest, floating in the warm air.

"You say it as if you can’t afford to feed me; are you worried I eat too much?" Charlotte didn’t care, stretching an arm to grab a fruit tart, popping it into her mouth. The tart raspberries were overly enticing, the burst of rich fruit aroma mixed with smooth cream, simply perfect.

"If you’re like this, I’d wish to keep a few more..." Atlas Hallow watched her lovely demeanor, unable to help himself, leaned in to kiss her, his tongue grazed her lips, sliding into her mouth.

"Indeed, it’s very delicious." Finally, his tongue swept across her lips collecting the lingering crumbs, the jesting sparkle in his eyes seemed like twinkling stars.

"Tonight, I won’t be able to accompany you; I’ve got some matters." Atlas Hallow’s hand held Charlotte’s waist, apologetically explained.

Tonight, he indeed had matters to attend.

Charlotte’s heart skipped; yet she remained silent.

Working by his side had the benefit of knowing exactly whether Atlas Hallow had social engagements, and today he had none.

That meant he didn’t have official business tonight, he had personal affairs to handle.

Not being able to join her for dinner on Christmas and no client engagements meant whom he’s meeting and what he’s doing must be significant, right?

At least more than her.

"Don’t think too far, if I had any spare energy, it would all go to you. Today, it’s real business, meeting men, not women." Atlas playfully pinched Charlotte’s cheek, teasingly said.

"That’s worse; you’re this interested in meeting a man..." Charlotte heard him finish and inexplicably put down the concerns just raised, casually picked up a scone, licking the maple syrup before biting into it.

"Why don’t you have confidence?" Atlas chuckled, she was especially adorable when speaking oddly.

"It’s not about confidence, but it seems handsome men all love other men." Charlotte seriously explained; abroad, those who liked the same sex were often hot guys: "And they have amazing physiques."

"How do you know, have you seen them?" Atlas Hallow still held her, chat idly.

"I’ve seen them during parades, at the end removing shirts, all muscular chests; many girls nearly cried, such handsome men wouldn’t give them a chance." Charlotte licked the honey off her fingers, savoring tea in satisfaction.

"Why is it that you seem so interested in men’s bodies?" His voice carried danger and allure, Charlotte didn’t mind because she knew Atlas wouldn’t be mad.

"It’s normal; don’t you like women’s bodies too?" Charlotte teased, poking Atlas’s firm chest with her finger.

"I don’t, I only like yours..." Atlas turned her over, trapping her on the sofa, his hot breath on her face, causing her to tremble slightly.

"I still have work." Charlotte felt things might be improper, sensing a hint of danger.

"Are they more important than me?" Atlas lowered his body, his voice husky and filled with boundless desire...
