Chapter 152: 106 The Hallow Family’s Secret_3

"Go rest in the lounge." Atlas Hallow led Charlotte Miller towards his office, but she forcefully shook him off. A faint smile was reluctantly pulled onto her obviously displeased face: "No need."

She turned and walked into her own office, closing the door behind her.

Atlas suddenly had the illusion that when Charlotte closed the door, she also shut him out of her world.

This feeling was extremely uncomfortable.

So, when Luna Miller saw Atlas Hallow, she was still taken aback by the cold aura emanating from the man.

Atlas Hallow and Jack Smith were completely different types of men.

Though to say so isn’t entirely accurate; compared to Atlas, Jack could only be called a boy.

Sitting in the office, the large room seemed to drop in temperature, making Luna instinctively wrap her coat tighter around herself.

This time she wouldn’t be foolish enough to take off her coat to test Atlas Hallow; perhaps some men just like what they can’t have.

"Brother-in-law, what’s going on here? Why are all my cards frozen?" Luna’s voice was softer and more gentle than ever, and she was seated gracefully and properly.

"You borrowed money without following the procedure, so I applied for a freeze. It’s normal." Atlas sat behind his desk, looking at a document and not even raising his head as he answered Luna’s question.

He froze all her money, yet he spoke as if it wasn’t serious. Now she couldn’t even go to South Korea to fix her facial scars, which made Luna incredibly anxious.

Charlotte’s standing issues could be settled later, but unfreezing the bank cards was the current priority.

"What about Charlotte? I want to see Charlotte." Atlas wouldn’t be so petty to freeze her money; surely it was Charlotte’s pillow talk that made this happen.

"She’s tired, resting," Atlas replied, as coldly and crisply as before.

"How can I unfreeze my money then?" Luna’s temperament was starting to get agitated; she really wanted to slap Charlotte twice right now. How could that damned woman be so ruthless, with no sisterly affection, daring to treat her like this and not even seeing her?

"Go to the United States." Charlotte wanted Luna to go to the United States, so Atlas would send her there. If necessary, he would have two people tie her and take her there, as long as it made Charlotte happy.

"But I want to go to South Korea now since I was in a car accident and you know..." Luna said awkwardly, admitting her disfigurement in front of a man was painful, but she was prepared for it.

"Which doctor do you need? I’ll have him come to the United States for you," Atlas pointed to the office door: "You can leave now."

The whole office had the scent of perfume, darkening Atlas’s mood even more.

He disliked any scents except that light rose fragrance from Charlotte.

It was a unique scent, the fragrance of roses, a flower loved by many, should be worldly, yet only on her did it smell fresh and enticing enough to drive away all the hardships and fatigue.

His office always retained Charlotte’s scent, as if she was always there, hidden in the fibers of his clothes, between the carpets, in the green plants, and even in every breath. Yet, Luna’s scent was like a barbaric invasion, disrupting that subtle and beautiful fragrance.

He bit his lip, feeling utterly helpless.

Atlas’s voice was cold as ice shards; now with her disfigured face, even if it weren’t, it might not be the right time to get close to him.

Feeling a bit defeated, she walked out, thinking about how to get money. She definitely wasn’t going to the United States to study some damned course.

After Luna left, the air still had that scent. Even with the exhaust system on, the aroma lingered.

Was his sense of smell too sensitive, or was he too repelled by the scents of other women?

Even Atlas himself didn’t know; he just felt uneasy with another’s scent present.

The long afternoon, with the sun still unable to break through the heavy dark gray clouds, the bleak winter had arrived...

Ethan Baird received Luna Miller’s call while he was chatting with a client.

"Sorry, I need to take this call." He picked up the phone and apologized briefly before standing up and stepping outside to take the call from Charlotte Miller.
