Chapter 141: 104 I’ve already given myself to you, what more do you want?_5

The servant was startled when opening the door; why had the husband of the second Miss come at this hour?

"Is Charlotte here?" The light in the yard cast a long shadow of Atlas Hallow’s tall and upright figure, and the moonlight highlighted his profound features, giving him an indescribable aura of intimidation.

"The second Miss returned for dinner today. She might have fallen asleep after turning off the lights just now." The servant pointed to Charlotte’s room upstairs, wondering if the second Miss had quarreled with this newlywed husband since his expression was quite unpleasant.

Without a word, Atlas Hallow headed straight to Charlotte’s room upstairs, leaving the servant standing there dumbfounded, unsure of what to do. Technically, it wasn’t something they could prevent, but letting someone in like this seemed a bit strange as well.

Her room wasn’t locked; perhaps because it was in the Miller Family, giving her a sense of security.

But hadn’t she already sold this house? His sharp thin lips curled into a cold smile; he pushed the door open and entered, then gently closed it, locking it in the process.

In the moonlight streaming through the window, he could see her sleeping form. Her long hair spread out like a waterfall of glossy black, covering the white blanket. She was curled up tightly under the covers, seemingly still afraid of the cold despite the heater being on.

Her even breathing carried the fragrance of roses. He didn’t know if it was because her skincare products were made from rose essence, or if it was simply her natural scent. Regardless, it always managed to soothe him when he was weary.

His stomach full of anger seemed to melt away the moment he saw her, much like how ice dissolves under the sunlight.

He sighed internally. What was he to do with her?

He removed his overcoat, then his suit, shirt, and trousers, placing his watch, cufflinks, and belt on her dainty dressing table before lifting the blanket and lying beside her. His arm encircling her waist inexplicably gave him a sense of peace.

Initially, he intended to take her back immediately, but seeing her asleep, he couldn’t help but linger, deciding to stay the night instead. He was curious about what expression Charlotte would have upon waking and finding him there the next morning.

A minor lesson; Charlotte was a bit shy by nature. If tomorrow they both walked out of her room in front of her mother, she would probably be quite embarrassed, wouldn’t she?

As dawn was breaking, Charlotte, in her half-asleep state, felt her body pressed up against something warm, a particularly peculiar warmth.

Without opening her eyes, she instinctively reached out to touch it.

Hmm? Atlas Hallow had returned...

She figured she could sleep a little longer, assured she wouldn’t be late for work. Charlotte snuggled further into the man’s arms, finding a comfortable position to continue sleeping.

But within seconds, she sprang up from the bed.

This was Miller Family’s house, not Atlas Hallow’s apartment, so how had this man appeared in her bed?

He had taken over three-quarters of her sleeping space, and his muscular body exuded a distinctly masculine beauty in the morning light.

This wasn’t the time to appreciate his physique; Charlotte reached out and pinched Atlas Hallow’s arm, "Atlas Hallow, how did you get in here?"

Feeling both shy and angry, yet anxious—this bastard...

"Of course, I walked in." He had been awake for a while, subtly enjoying the sight of her reactions in the faint light. Indeed, she was an amusing sight, akin to a kitten with its fur bristled.

"Why didn’t you answer my calls?" He sat up, clasping Charlotte’s chin to face him, his gaze filled with a dangerous inquiry.

Charlotte’s brain, still fogged with drowsiness moments ago, now cleared rapidly. She needed to make sure Atlas Hallow was not a bit angry and, furthermore, convince him to step in to deal with Luna Miller’s issue. Although it seemed challenging, it was still possible.

It was time to gamble...

"President Hallow, you have the nerve to ask me that question? I should ask you first; why was your phone turned off? Naturally, I didn’t answer your calls. Do you not know how furious I was because of you yesterday?" Charlotte grumbled, wrapped in a blanket, getting out of bed to confront Atlas Hallow directly.

"Luna isn’t planning to go to the United States. I wanted her to study there to polish her temperament, but now everything’s in chaos." Letting go of the blanket, which dropped to the carpet, Charlotte rushed to her wardrobe and pulled out a shirt, wearing only a thin nightgown.
