Chapter 124: 101 He actually knows nothing_6
Selling even the house, that must have been when Luna Miller left a few days ago, claiming she had some matters to attend to. Yet, she has been acting so calm and obedient the past couple of days, not revealing any signs of something unusual.
"Daniel Parker, find out what’s happened to Charlotte Miller’s sister?" Did he realize everything too late? Why did Charlotte not tell him what was going on? That day, she said her sister had something important to deal with, but could it be something really serious?
With hidden anger in his heart, he stood at the window with a steely face, confident that he would receive concrete information in just a few minutes.
But it was ridiculous that he had to hear these things from someone else’s mouth instead of from Charlotte herself. She still hadn’t let him into her heart...
She was planning to move the entire family, yet he knew nothing.
An indescribable emotion filled him with anger and helplessness.
She is indeed a daughter of the Miller Family, but more importantly, she is Atlas Hallow’s woman. Between the two identities, he always felt the second identity should be her ultimate belonging. She should be his possession, and he should know her every move.
She sold off everything. If it was just the Miller Family’s company doing poorly and needing to shut down, it would be understandable, but she even sold the villa where she grew up. Clearly, it wasn’t as simple as ending a business.
After Joseph Shaw finished his tasks, he received a call and hurriedly left, leaving Atlas sitting alone on the sofa in the large office. His slender fingers held a cigarette, and the white smoke slowly enveloped his handsome face, gradually blurring the sharp lines.
Charlotte Miller, what kind of woman is she? She seems so uncomplicated, yet every time he thinks she’s simple, she does something shocking, each time more astonishing than the last.
What is she thinking? It’s not hard to see her attachment to the Miller Family, yet she sold everything belonging to the family. This move signifies that the Miller Family will no longer reside in this city; what about her?
Is she planning to leave one day?
At this thought, Atlas Hallow radiated a violent aura, making it dangerous for anyone to be near him.
It was incredibly easy to investigate this matter, and soon, Daniel Parker had thoroughly uncovered everything about the Miller Family.
"Four days ago, Madam’s sister, Luna Miller, was in a car accident, speeding against traffic, resulting in a severe crash. Perhaps because of this incident, Madam put all of the Miller Family’s assets on sale the day after the accident, including the house where she was born," Daniel explained, feeling the chilling air emanating from Atlas Hallow.
"Did she die?" Atlas’s thin lips barely parted, but every word seemed like icy shards spilling from his mouth, cold and sharp.
Having worked for Atlas, he was well aware of the rules: only report after thorough investigation.
"Ruptured spleen causing massive bleeding, broken left leg, and numerous abrasions. A pregnant woman in the collided truck miscarried, and the truck driver is still in critical condition and unconscious. The police reached a settlement; it’s said Madam paid all the medical expenses upfront and also gave a million dollars to the truck driver’s family," Daniel narrated, aware of his boss’s impending outrage.
The boss’s wife still regarded the boss as an outsider, even handling compensation by herself without using a single cent of his money.
Sometimes men fear women constantly draining money like leeches, but knowing his boss, if his wife didn’t spend his money, that would be truly infuriating; he would be very angry.
As expected, Daniel watched Atlas Hallow’s face darken, as ominous as a stormy sky, suffocatingly oppressive, ready to make one scream.
Even amidst the pressure, he had to report everything he uncovered. High salaries are not easily earned, especially since today’s task was merely a simple investigation into the Miller Family. Charlotte didn’t do much to hide it, making the information easy to obtain.
"Madam may have left everything to Percy to handle. Just yesterday, all conditions were settled, and agreements were signed at the law firm." The speed and decisiveness of selling everything in the shortest time impressed Daniel.
