Chapter 115: 100 The Most Chaotic Day 2
Sure enough, Luna Miller on the upper floor was wearing a fiery red long dress, with a black long fur coat over it, and descended the stairs with wafts of fragrance.
"Luna, are you going out?" Seeing Luna’s eyes blazing with fiery emotions, Freya Morgon called out to her eldest daughter, worrying that stepping out in such a state wasn’t a good idea.
"Yes, I’m going out to find Jack Smith." She had a knife in her small bag. If Jack Smith insisted on breaking up, she’d show him by taking her own life.
Being a star’s wife isn’t bad, at least better than the many young heirs in this city.
Unable to stop her, her exquisite red sports car shot out like a bolt of red lightning and quickly vanished...
"Mommy, don’t worry so much. It’s good that Luna has someone she truly likes." Luna enjoys a playful lifestyle; having someone she likes means she can stop wandering aimlessly and settle down for a stable life. Though her time with Jack Smith was short, this rising star seemed approachable and gentlemanly.
"Why don’t we go shopping today and I’ll treat you to some San Francisco cuisine?" Even if living in another big city means one could have lost childhood memories from San Francisco, favorite flavors still emerge from one’s bones.
Freya Morgon nodded, just about to change her outfit when the house phone rang.
"May I speak to a family member of Luna Miller?" The voice on the other end was loud and somewhat noisy.
"Yes..." Freya Morgon replied softly.
"She just had a car accident and is being taken to the hospital, please head to XX Hospital immediately." The person on the phone finished speaking and hung up, likely a police officer maintaining order.
Freya Morgon’s face turned pale. Just minutes ago, Luna left home in good health, and now she’s in a car accident. It felt like all the blood in her body was being drained; despite Luna’s penchant for chaos, she cared for her dearly—what if something unexpected happened?
Whether it’s damage to her beauty, physical loss, or even disappearance, the more she thought about it, the more terrified she became, skipping changing her clothes.
"Charlotte, come with me to the hospital; Luna got into a car accident and was sent to the hospital." Her voice barely calm held a thick layer of grief; the Miller Family had truly been troubled this year with misfortunes one after another...
Charlotte Miller’s face was even paler than Freya’s; she shivered all over.
"Did they say how serious it is, or which hospital?" She picked up her bag, double-checking her phone and wallet, and quickly followed Freya out.
"No, let’s just head there first." Freya Morgon headed to the garage and drove the car out; Charlotte took the passenger seat.
She didn’t like driving; this city was too crowded for her taste. She preferred to walk, or just took a taxi home.
"Mommy, she should be fine. Luna’s sports car is of good performance, it should be okay..." She wasn’t sure if she was comforting her mother or herself. The atmosphere in the Miller family had been heavy lately; she desperately hoped nothing more happened, at least they could have a somewhat joyous Christmas?
The more she wished for no incident, the more her heart silently prayed, her feelings fluctuating.
She didn’t even know how she made it to the hospital, but once there, she hurriedly sought out the operating room after hearing Luna had been sent there.
In the parking lot, she seemed to spot a very familiar car—it should be Atlas Hallow’s. That vehicle parked in the distance exuded a cold glow.
His car was large, of a rare model, but Charlotte Miller had no time or inclination to verify the license plate now; her mind was solely occupied with Luna’s wellbeing.
"Hello, you’re Luna’s family, right? She was driving in the wrong direction and crashed into a small truck. The truck driver’s injuries might be more severe than hers; they’re both in the surgery room, and you need to be prepared. If the driver doesn’t make it, she’ll face criminal charges, and the compensation would be considerable, as his wife was in the passenger seat. Though she’s not in life-threatening danger, she was more than three months pregnant, and they’ve lost the child." A policeman documenting statements briefly explained the accident, and Charlotte felt as though she’d been frozen solid.
