Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO
Chapter 606 - 606: She is out guest, and she should be treated like one.

Selene was taken aback. She hadn't expected her hand would be caught like that —firmly, unhesitatingly. No one had ever dared to touch her so boldly … so rudely.

But this woman —the one she had started to hate the most —had the audacity.

Her gaze turned icy to glare at Arwen. However, Arwen didn't flinch.

Her eyes remained just as sharp. "Is that answer so difficult, Ms. Martin, that you couldn't give it?"

Selene gritted her teeth, trying to suppress her irritation. But when she realized Aiden was also present, she quickly composed herself and pulled her lips into a polite smile.

"It's not," she said sweetly. "I was just taken aback to find you so vigilant. I wasn't going to harm you."

She turned to Aiden and continued, still keeping her smile intact. "I merely intended to check his temperature. I heard he hadn't been well. I tried earlier, but then …" She looked back at Arwen. "You arrived, and he left to receive you at the door."

Arwen recalled the scene she had walked into. Selene's words lined up just enough to sound reasonable.

"Now, if you could let go of my hand, I would love to check on him, just once, so that I can be at ease." Selene tried to pull her hand back, but Arwen's grip remained unyielding.

Selene's brows furrowed. "Arwen, what's the meaning of this?" she asked, her tone slipping from pleasant to sharp.

It was already hard enough to maintain her calm in Aiden's presence. But Arwen's provocations like this were starting to wear down her patience.

"The meaning is simple," Arwen replied, a small smile tugging at her lips —one that never reached her eyes. "I am helping you save your effort."

Selene blinked. "What do you mean?"

Arwen's smile deepened. "Oh-ho, you still didn't understand."

She finally let go of her hand and turned to glance at Aiden. Then she reached forward and pressed the back of her hand gently against his forehead.

"I meant he is better now. You can relax."

She turned fully toward him, now completely ignoring Selene's presence. "Did you have your meals and medicines on time?" she asked, her voice filled with care.

Selen stood silently at the side, fuming. Arwen had always been so prim and proper, but now, she wasn't even pretending to be civil. She was blatantly dismissive —and utterly territorial.

And she didn't care.

She had been raised to be a polite hostess, to act with grace in front of guests. But right now? All those lessons were buried under pure instinct.

And her instincts told her one thing clearly —she didn't like Selene Martin.

She knew she was being childish and irrational. But she didn't care at all.

Who asked this woman to touch something that didn't belong to her?

Aiden watched Arwen's face and smiled, his lips curving in clear amusement.

"What?" Arwen frowned. "Don't smile at me like that, husband? Tell me —did you take your meal and medicine on time?"

Aiden nodded. "I did. If you don't believe me, you can confirm it with Mr. Jones."

"Yes, Madam," Mr. Jones called out from the side. He had been standing silently nearby the entire time, and it was only now that Arwen noticed him.

"Sir had his lunch and took his medicine on time."

Arwen nodded in approval before turning back to Aiden. "You have been good. I am impressed."

Aiden's eyes glinted with mischief. His hands moved to her waist, gently pulling her closer as he leaned toward her.

"Really? So … how are you going to reward me?"

The implication was clear. And Arwen's cheeks flushed instantly.

She pushed him away lightly and whispered through clenched teeth, "We have a guest, what are you doing?"

Though she was ignoring Selene's presence, she hadn't forgotten her.

Selene's jaw clenched. All this time, she stood like a fool —ignored, brushed aside, and now watching this blatant display of intimacy. Her entire body simmered with rage, but she couldn't leave. Not yet.

She needed to keep her composure.

But inside, she was seething.

How dare Arwen —just a temporary wife —talk and behave like she owned this place?

Selene's fists clenched at her sides. Her nails dug into her palms, but she didn't say a word.

Instead, she gave a practiced smile and took a shallow breath. "Haha … don't mind me. This is your place, after all."

Arwen turned to her and smiled. "Ms. Martin," she said, politely. "You are our guest and seems like you came having a long journey." She hadn't acknowledged it before, but now that she was finally in the hole of hostess, she couldn't ignore how tired the woman looked.

Selene gave a tight smile. The term 'guest' hasn't irked her this much until today. "I had a long flight, indeed. But since I was missing Aiden so much, I couldn't wait to see him."

Arwen's brows arched up slightly but she didn't say anything. "Oh, then you should first freshen up." She pulled her hand to check the time on her watch and continued, "We can have the dinner together, once you are done."

It wasn't close to dinner time yet, but since she showed up, Arwen expected her to have an intent of having a meal together.

Selen nodded. "Yes, I guess freshening up will help me a little."

Arwen smiled before looking over her shoulders to call out the butler. "Mr. Jones."

"Yes, Madam," the old butler came forward at just one command.

"Prepare a refreshing bath for Ms. Martin. She is out guest, and she should be treated like one."

Mr. Jones understood and nodded before retreating to make the arrangements.

Arwen looked back at Selence and said, "The people here are very efficient. It will be done in no time. Until then, please sit." She gestured to the sofa behind her. "I will also go and get freshened up as well."

She then looked at Aiden, giving him an understanding nod. Aiden nodded back, and she left.

As she was ascending the stairs, she paused to look back, not looking quite content in leaving Aiden alone there. But Selene was a guest and either one of them should stay back with her and keep her company.

That was the basic of hospitality …
