Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO
Chapter 599 - 599: Just her imagination, or really a reality.

It felt too surreal.

Was this a coincidence as well? She questioned herself. But then shook her head at it.

How could it be? It was just so much to be a mere coincidence.

Although the scenery drawn was a bit different, still, the familiarity she felt between the two places was real.

"It's not a coincidence," she spoke to herself, shaking her head. And just then, she heard her phone vibrate on the desk.

When she read Alice's name on the screen, her brows furrowed slightly. She reached out to accept the call, and the moment she did, the girl's voice came from the other end.

"Queen sister, did I wake you up?" the voice carried the hints of guilt. "Actually, I only saw the time after I dialled your number. I didn't realize it was late."

Arwen knew and couldn't doubt it. After all, she has seen how the seven work. They forget everything in the world —times were the easiest ones in that.

"You didn't wake me up, Alice," Arwen said before getting straight to the point. "Tell me what you were calling me for? Is there anything?"

"Umm … Queen Sister, it's about the job you asked me to do the last time," Alice spoke, her tone felt a little restricted.

Arwen paused at that. Her furrow between her brows deepened as, for a second, she seemed to have forgotten what job she had given the girl. But then she remembered, and her gaze turned to look back at the diary in front of her.

How did she forget such an important clue?

"Yes, Alice. Did you find him?" she asked, already sounding excited.

"I couldn't," Alice said disappointedly. "I tried Queen Sister, but there didn't seem to be much to his details. We only got to know that he studied in the senior year of Cralens High School. After that, I couldn't trace him further."

"You couldn't trace him?" Arwen asked, frowning.

The girl hummed. "I am sorry for disappointing you, Queen Sister. But all these days, I used all my sources, but there was no clue."

The glitter that just appeared in Arwen's gaze dimmed. "It's fine, Alice. I know you tried your best. Don't think too much about it."

Maybe it was just her fate. Things weren't meant to be easy for her.

"I won't, but what about the picture?" Alice asked, continuing, "I thought I would bring you the information on his whereabouts and the picture together. But now that I couldn't find him, what should I do with the picture?"

"The picture was fixed," Arwen inquired, sounding like she didn't expect it.

And on the line, Alice pouted. "How can it not be fixed, Queen Sister? It was just a picture, and fixing it was within our basic capabilities." She then paused briefly before adding, "I have fixed it the very night you left. It's just that I was very sure that I would be able to find him as well. So, I didn't tell you."

"It's okay, Alice." Although she was not able to find the information about him, as long as Arwen could see that picture, she would be able to be clear on one thing.

If seeing Aiden was just her imagination, or really a reality.

"Queen Sister? Are you still on the line?" When Alice didn't hear her for a long moment, she asked.

Arwen hummed the very next second. "Yes." She then added, "Let's meet tomorrow. I will come over and find you."

Saying that, they shared a few pleasantries before she hung up.

Setting the phone aside, she stared back at the diary, her gaze growing firm on it.

Up until now, she was sure of the few things —

One, she had forgotten a past that was important to her.

Second, her memory loss was nothing simple. She might still not know much about it, but she was sure that soon she would.

Third, the dreams she was having were not just dreams. They were a part of her forgotten memories and were real.

And tomorrow, she might also be able to find out if the appearance of Aiden was just her imagination or really a reality.

Her gaze turned deep as she started anticipating what she would find out tomorrow. Whatever it would be, it would solve a part of the puzzle for sure.

She was lost in her thoughts and didn't realize the approaching steps. Her senses only snapped when she heard the voice —deep and mellow.

"What are you doing here?"

She glanced at the door and blinked, finding Aiden standing there. "What are you doing here? I thought I left you sleeping?"

He didn't respond. He simply stared at her.

And, at his such attitude, Arwen only pursed her lips. "Fine, I will answer first," she said before continuing, "I had something to read, and since you were sleeping, I didn't think disturbing you would have been right. So, I came here to use this room."

Aiden's gaze darted to look at the desk. "You are reading the diary?" he asked, and she filled his gaze before glancing up and nodding.

"Yes, I found it recently and wanted to read my teenage ramblings."

"You can read it tomorrow," he said, "It doesn't have to be this late at night."

She coughed before rubbing the tip of her nose. "It's you who needs rest. I am doing fine. I could stay awake a little late." She then looked at the time on the desk clock. "And it's not that late. Barely past midnight. Don't you think after falling sick, you have turned more grumpy, husband?"

Aiden looked at her and then, without saying anything, he walked inside, coming to her side in just a few steps.

Arwen knew what was in his plans, but the moment she saw him leaning down, she shrieked, "Wait! What are you doing?"

But by the time her words died off, she was already in his arms. He lifted her comfortably, answering, "Playing the role of the grumpy husband and carrying my wife to bed."

"But the diary —"

"Leave it there," he said, understanding her concern. "I won't read it until you permit me to."

"Are you sure?" she asked, raising a brow.

He gave her a look, but didn't answer. He simply carried her away.
