Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO
Chapter 584 - 584: I was so scared … death scared.

Arwen didn't realize when she started talking in the dream. She thought she was merely watching, but when her role interchanged, she didn't realize it.

The young Arwen was long gone, and in place of her, who sat next to the boy, was her —watching the clouds with a big smile on her lips.

She only grasped everything when she heard the words leave her lips.

It stunned her as much as it could have, but more than that, what left her frozen was the face that appeared next in front of her eyes.

"Aiden!" she whispered his name out, only to see him smile back at her —the same gentle one that he always gave her. The only difference was that this time, his eyes weren't holding the complaints but just the sparkles of pure amusement.

"Moon, —"

Arwen's eyes shot open, waking up from the dream—or the memory of the past —whatever it was. She felt bewildered.

For a moment, she felt things making sense. But then the very next second, she felt it all absurd.

That boy in her dream has been a mystery to her. His face was never clear to her, so how come today, suddenly, the face that appeared in front of hers was none other's but Aiden's?

Was it her imagination? Or —

Her thoughts were interrupted when, in her ears, she heard his heartbeat resounding.

Since she had fallen asleep over Aiden's chest, her consciousness only returned when she heard his heartbeat resonating close to her ears.

She registered the position in which she had earlier fallen asleep and slowly turned her head to look at Aiden.

His eyes were still closed, and given his even heartbeat, she knew he was still asleep. He looked weak, but his charm hadn't diminished at all. She could stay watching him like this all morning, and she wouldn't crave looking at anything else.

With her face resting on her hands over his chest, she was staring at him when suddenly something struck her. "The IV!" she gasped softly, her pupils dilating.

Sitting up straight, she turned to check and no longer found the needle attached to his hands; she heaved a sigh of relief.

Maybe while she was asleep, Mr. Jones or someone came and removed it on time.

But she chided herself for not being careful enough. How could she just fall asleep like that?

However, then so much has happened. She didn't realize when her body gave up all its strength.

Her gaze returned to look back at Aiden's face, and suddenly the dream flashed back. A smile dared to curl her lips up.

Could he really be the boy she had always seen in her dreams?

She wasn't sure, but she wanted to be.

"Aiden, have we met before?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Have we known each other in the past? I want to ask this of you, but I am not sure you would give me the answer."

She had asked him before, but he had denied it. Although his denial never convinced her very much, it still made it clear that if asked, he would once again deny it the same.

Arwen took a deep breath and shook her head. "It's fine. I will find it out soon," she muttered to herself. "Isn't it just some forgotten memories? I would find a way to retrieve it all."

As she glanced back at Aiden, her eyes brimmed with strong will and determination.

Once Arwen made sure that Aiden's temperature had returned back to normal, she stretched her neck and arms to ease her muscles.

Even though she had her comfortable sleep in Aiden's embrace, her sleeping posture wasn't the best, which made her neck and arms a little stiff.

She looked out of the window and, finding it still quite early, she decided to let Aiden complete his proper sleep while she freshened up and started the day.

Rising to her feet, she soon left to get the things done. Completing it all, when she returned, she found him finally waking up.

She didn't say anything. Simply walking up to him, she stood and watched him open his eyes. And when their gazes met, she pulled her lips in a tight smile.

"Well, good morning!" she wished him before adding, "Now that you have woken up, I would love to hear you explain more about the theory that you mentioned yesterday."

Aiden blinked, not understanding what she meant. His brows scrunched a little in confusion, and he was about to ask her —

But before he could, she helped him out with remembering.

"The theory of men being usually warmer than women," she reminded, continuing, "I am sure in that theory, the unusual temperature of the human body must be explained differently. Otherwise, …" she let her eyes rake him from head to toe before adding tauntingly, "how else would you have ended up like this. Isn't it?"

Aiden found it hard to answer her. How could he when she stood like a domineering little wife?

"I (*cough*) …" His throat felt heavy, and so did his voice. He had to cough to make himself sound clear. "I didn't think I would end up like this."

Arwen crossed her arms and pulled her lips into an even tighter smile. Of course! He didn't think; he just overestimated his exhausted body.

"Did I scare you?" he frowned, remembering seeing her alarmed before closing his eyes.

She squinted her eyes at him, not missing the hints of guilt that became very obvious in his gaze.

Even after suffering from the fever like that, he was not putting her above himself. How could he prioritise her over himself every time?

Pursing her lips, she wanted to chide him, but changed her tone and rather asked, "What do you think?" She then paused and chuckled, her tone lacking humor. "You left me alone in the wilderness and ran away with a mistress. What if a wild bear had appeared and eaten me up? What would I have done? I was so scared … death scare."
