Bound To The Ice Dragon King -
Chapter 213: The other enemy
Chapter 213: The other enemy
As snowflakes slowly descended from the night sky and fell onto the white blanket of snow ground, in the dragon realm city, Fabian Lyndhurst stumbled out of an extravagant building, its sign board flashing "Pleasure All Night." The night wind clung to him as he sauntered down the brightly lit street with his disheveled long blue hair and golden gray eyes. Beside him, his two friends exchanged hushed laughs.
"Fabian, I never knew you as someone who gets scared of a mere threat. You wanted to have fun with El-Dezeus’ human bride but you hide your tail under you legs at his mere threat, when it was you who also told us he was a weakling. Now who is the weakling?" Said his friends, who he had just told about his encounter with Draven El-Dezeus months ago.
Fabian’s smile wavered as he recounted the threat from Draven. He had underestimated the dragon then because of what happened on the red moon night, but after how he was pressed against the wall by Draven, he dared not crossed the line and mess with the human girl.
"Shut up, man. You haven’t encounter El-Dezeus yet," Fabian sneered, "He might have lost his legendary powers, but he is still El-Dezeus, not a mere dragon. I have no interest in crossing him ever again."
"Come on, Fabian, you should’ve seen it as a compliment not a threat for you to back off! El-Dezeus was just flexing his muscles, don’t give up on the human girl, have fun."
His friends, reveling in his irritation, teased him about his fear for Draven. Fabian’s glare towards them was met with more jests as they made fun of him. He ignored them until he reached his house. Stepping inside, he was met with a strange silence and darkness. The Lyndhurst house was eerily empty.
"Where is everyone?" He murmured to himself as he couldn’t sense the presence of any of his family members. Unbothered, he made his way to his room, closed the door, and began removing his shirt, flicking on the room’s light. He froze in place as he saw a deformed human amidst a black smoke materialized in his room. It looked like swirling smoke on the process of having a human form.
Fabian frowned, "What the hell. Get the fuck out of my room!" He raised his hand to strike the swirling smoke, but to his astonishment, his powers weren’t responding to the thing in his room.
The person’s face was incomplete, and its eyes glowed an ominous red. Shock gripped Fabian as he couldn’t transformed into his dragon form nor use his powers against it.
"What the hell are you? What are you doing in my room?" He demanded angrily, unaware of the danger lurking.
Ignoring Fabian, the swirling smoke materialized in front of him, using its dark powers to numb his limbs.
"Hey! Stop this!" Fabian cried out as his body went numb. "What do you want from me? You_" his voice was suddenly stuck in his throat.
Panic set in as Fabian struggled to move or speak, but he couldn’t. The smoke like human, cloaked in malevolence, circled him, letting out a sinister laughter that sent shivers down Fabian’s spine.
"You have a charming face, young man. A handsome form indeed." Erebus remarked in amusement, "I wonder what it would feel like to have your body."
Fabian’s eyes widened as he tried to speak but couldn’t bring the voice out of his throat.
"Don’t bother to speak, young man." Erebus said,"I have always wanted a charming face, but who would have thought I will find one the moment I entered the dragon realm, that too an arrogant bastard just like me? Hmm, I shall enjoy having your appearance."
Fear and anger welled within Fabian as he faced the ominous fate unfolding in his own room. He might not know what this thing or person was, but he knew it was danger. He continued to struggle, trying to break the spell numbing his limbs, but it was useless.
Erebus placed his deformed hand on Fabian’s chest, a slow and sinister connection formed between them. Fabian’s face contorted in agony as his life essence was drawn into Erebus. His once vibrant blue hair and glowing pale skin turned pallid, and his body, now skeletal, collapsed to the floor.
Erebus, now adorned in Fabian’s appearance, walked to the mirror, his deformed features morphing into Fabian’s handsome face. He smiled in satisfaction, admiring the stolen looks.
"Ah, much better." His evil laughter echoed through the room as he reveled in his newfound form. He had been let down by both his slaves; Alina and Azure, they had failed him many times, he couldn’t keep staying in the dark anymore. If one wanted something done the way they desired, then one has to do it themselves.
What Erebus’ desired the most was to rule the entire world, he wanted to be worshipped by everyone on earth, both humans and dragons. But to achieve that, he needed the core of a great dragon born of El-Dezeus blood and remove the possible obstacle to his goal by killing the only offspring of the creature that could destroy him; Draven El-Dezeus.
Turning to leave, Erebus’s eyes fell upon an invitation letter lying on the bed. Curiosity piqued, he picked it up and discovered it was an invitation to a game night.
"Hmph, dragons are really out of their minds. What a waste of time for them to engage in mortal amusements." He sneered.
About to fling the invitation away, he paused when his eyes caught the guest list. El-Dezeus was listed as an important guest at Annalise Thorn’s house tomorrow for the game night. Erebus’s eyes gleamed with wicked delight as he realized the opportunity presented.
"Well, well. Fate has a sense of humor, don’t you think."
His evil laughter resonated as he envisioned his plans. If he attended the game night, he could confront his worst enemy tommorow. He would also meet the human girl possessing his soon to be core. He had been sealed away for more than a century by the El-Dezeus’, he had suffered in the darkness with no way out because of them. Death was too less of a punishment for his enemies offspring, he would make him suffer before he’d grant him death.
"I’ll savor every moment before your demise, El-Dezeus." With a malevolent grin, Erebus took the invitation letter and left the room, the echo of his laughter lingering in the air.

Rhea awoke to the warmth of her husband’s embrace, his arms securely holding her close. Feeling his solid frame against her back, she stirred in her sleep, gradually turning to face him.
"Good morning," she mumbled, her eyes meeting Draven’s as he was already awake. His handsome face was bathed in the soft morning light filtering through the curtains, and his pale blue eyes held a warmth that mirrored the love they shared.
"Morning, my love," he greeted in his husky morning voice, a smile playing on his lips.
Rhea replied with a sleepy smile of her own, moving even closer to him and burying her face into his chest.
The past few days had been filled with stress for her. Two days ago, it was her birthday and she had celebrated it with acquaintances she had made. Yesterday, Draven believed she would continue to worry unnecessarily if she had nothing to occupy her time. As a result, he kept her company throughout the day and even took her shopping for more dresses and jewelry, despite the numerous ones she already had at home.
Her husband, being himself, did not allow her to rest upon their return. He seduced her into making love while the evening was still young yesterday, and she couldn’t resist him. He continued to engage in intimate activities repeatedly until she became too weak to move. Consequently, she had no desire to leave the bed this morning.
As Rhea moved closer to him, Draven gently began to stroke her silver hair, the strands cascading through his fingers.
"Rhea, do you remember that Annilse invited us to a game night tonight. Do you still have desires to attend?" He asked.
Rhea nodded, "Yes, I want to go because I don’t know what a game night is or what they do there. But can we stay in bed a bit more?" She murmured softly.
Leaning in, Draven whispered, "Even I don’t know what they do in game nights as I’ve never been to one before. But we need to get out of bed, my dear. If we stay undressed in bed, I might be tempted to—"
Rhea had already succumbed to the call of sleep. Draven called her name softly, "Rhea?"
Receiving no response, he allowed her to continue her peaceful slumber. As she slept, he couldn’t help but admire the serene expression on her face. Sometimes, he almost forgot that his wife was a human girl when he was driven by his desires. He must have tired her out so much that she was too exhausted to get out of bed early like she usually did.
Draven felt guilty as he watched her sleeping face. However, he couldn’t control himself when it came to his wife. Moreover, he had kept her occupied yesterday because he had noticed how she would space out whenever she was alone. It was as if she still found it hard to believe that her life had changed and that she now had a place to call home. He had sensed her fears of losing this blissful life.
His wife still needed time to adjust to all of this. Maybe in a year, she would realize that she had nothing to worry about. However, before then, he had to ensure that she didn’t worry too much. He had been assigned a position as a member of the royal court in the palace, but the thought of how busy he would be once he started attending to the dragon court affairs made him feel bad. His wife needed a companion at home.
Perhaps it was time to bring that noisy fairy back to their house. She had refused to stay here, claiming that their house had too few people, unlike the palace where she could feast on people’s satisfaction and have fun with her friends.
Draven settled back properly on the bed and also decided to sleep more as he wouldn’t want to wake Rhea up, unknown to him what awaited them.
