Chapter 199: Wedding night (part 1)
Rhea chatted and laughed with the guests at the wedding banquet ceremony, while internally, she felt sick and angry. A glass of wine had done nothing to relax her.
Anxiously she wondered where her husband was. She wanted to tell him about Fabian’s shameless approach, and she also wanted to let him know the blue haired man was the same Dragon who had tried to kill her that night. Certainly the news would ruin his evening as well as it has ruined hers.
Furthermore, she hadn’t had the chance to talk about Azure and why she had requested him to escort her to Draven, however she planned on doing that when the banquet ended and they were in the comfort of their new home, not amidst dozens of guests.
As those thoughts slunk through her mind, Rhea saw her husband approaching. He looked elegant and handsome, his dark hair emphasized his pale unblemished face. She decided he must have been relaxing with his friend on the balcony, for something had evidently put him in a good mood.
"My wife," He addressed her with that title for the first time, and Rhea blushed as it sounded foreign to her ears. He even leaned down and kissed the side of her mouth in a husbandly way. Everything seemed new to her that she couldn’t help but glance around if someone had caught him kissing the side of her mouth.
She awkwardly cleared her throat, "I haven’t seen you for a while," she asked. "Where have you been?"
"I had to dispose of a large harmful insect," he said lightly.
"A harmful insect?." Rhea repeated, perplexed. "Couldn’t one of the servants have taken care of it?"
Draven’s white teeth gleamed as he laughed. "I wanted to take care of this one myself or else it wouldn’t leave without bitting it’s victim."
"Oh." Knowing that there were a lot of mysterious things in the Dragon realm, Rhea looked across the polished hall floors with a frown of worry. "Do you think there might be others scurrying around? They might run under the ladies’ skirts and harm someone."
Still smiling, Draven slipped an arm around her waist. "My wife, the only creature that will nibble under your skirt tonight is me."
Rhea’s eyes widened and her cheeks reddened as she glanced around to make sure they could not be overheard by anyone. "You are shameless."
"I have nothing to be ashamed of we are married now, and I am looking forward to taking you to our house tonight." He pecked her lips again.
Rhea thought she would sink into the ground in embarrassment as she heard the ladies across the hall giggling. A lot of people could hear them because of their sharp sense of hearing. Draven was acting like a completely different man, but she loved this new part of him even more. Rhea thought.
"Draven," she called, "I met the Dragon_"
"That blue haired bastard? Yes, I met him as well." He smiled down at her.
"How did you meet him?" she asked in astonishment. "You weren’t here when he spoke to me inappropriately. Gosh, I had a strong urge to punch his arrogant face."
"I saw your face when he spoke to you." Draven smiled reassuringly, "It’s all right. That blue haired womanizer can’t harm you, Rhea. You’re mine only." He pulled her into his arms.
Slowly she relaxed in his arms, internally relieved that she wouldn’t have to face that annoying man. "I hope he won’t try to approach me again," she murmured against his chest.
Draven bent his head and kissed her temple. "Don’t worry, my wife. He won’t trouble you again. In fact, I suspect he has left the hall by now."
Something in his tone made Rhea wonder if he had actually approached Fabian. "Draven," she said suspiciously, "about this ’large harmful insect’ you disposed of, could it_"
"The couple dance is beginning," he interrupted, pulling her with him to the mass of whirling couples in the middle of the hall.
"Draven, I don’t want to dance." she protested.
"You have to, it is our responsibility to first lead the dance."
As Draven had intended, Rhea was distracted from the blue haired man. "I’m not certain I can, my legs are already numb from moving around all day." She pouted childishly while dragging her feet behind Draven as he pulled her to the dance floor.
"It’s our ceremony, and this happens once in a lifetime, Rhea. Let’s dance," he murmured, drawing her hand into the crook of his arm. "Just follow my lead." He assured.
Although they were just holding hands, Rhea felt a thrill of excitement at the pressure of his fingers. She looked up at his intense blue eyes and said with a sudden throb in her voice, "I would follow you anywhere."
Draven’s thick lashes veiled his intense eyes. She could sensed his rampant desire to be alone with her. "Thirty minutes," he said, speaking as if to himself.
"What?" she asked.
"Thirty minutes until we move back to our home."
"Huh, isn’t that too early for us to leave when the guests are still around? I thought we’d have to stay back until everyone has left."
"We are not staying here for that long, we have no business here," he said firmly, escorting her away from the dance floor, "I can think of a much better way to spend the rest of the evening in our new home."
"Sleeping?" she said with false innocence.
Draven bent to whisper, "That is the last thing on my mind, my dear. We have a tasting to do if my crotch still works properly." He grinned as a deep blush rose on Rhea’s face.
Rhea knew more than anyone what happens between couples on their wedding night, and the thought that she and Draven would be doing just that tonight, sent a thrill of nervous excitement to her stomach. She and Draven had decided yesterday night that they would spend their entire days without worrying about the worst that could happen if Alina decided to avenge Enzo, and she had agreed. They had lived their life escaping from being caught by the fire controllers in the past, and now he wanted them to live a different life here.
Rhea liked this new life of hers better than the one in the past. And she looked forward to living in their home with Draven, and most importantly she looked forward to tonight.
