Bound To The Ice Dragon King -
Chapter 110: "Enough of your nonsense!"
Chapter 110: "Enough of your nonsense!"
The rest of the fire controllers who stood by the entrance could sense the dangerous energy around Draven. None of them dared to speak again and merely watched as Zoorah retreated until she was standing beside them.
However, no one dared to speak but one person, who thought she had the powers to face anybody because her aunt was a leader. She stepped forward and arrogantly say, "How interesting, Rhea. Your husband has recently gone missing, but you already found another man to hook around." Oriana’s lips curved into a mocking smile.
Cal’s face became somber as he gazed at Draven, but his expression relaxed once again when he realized that Draven was trying to protect Rhea. He leaned in closer to Oriana and whispered, "My lady, we have more pressing matters to attend to. We should simply leave."
Oriana raised her hand to silence Cal, saying, "From my perspective, this is part of our duty. We have been tasked with searching for outcast creatures, and there have been rumors that Rhea is in league with a malevolent dragon, and I find this man beside her to be suspicious."
Oriana walked forward and stood in front of Draven, "You have an imposing air around you, yet you have no scent. I can’t distinguish if you’re a human or an outcast, so why don’t you enlighten us on your identity, so we can know who the Duke’s daughter has been going around with?"
Rhea’s expression darkened as she heard Oriana’s words. Draven’s identity was undoubtedly the most taboo of all taboos. His identity could not be revealed to any fire controller until he found his Dragon form. He could go back to square one if they were to know he was the dragon king Alina had claimed to be evil.
Without hesitation, Rhea rushed to stand in between Oriana and Draven.
Draven’s eyes slightly widened as she placed herself in front of him. He couldn’t help but smile faintly. Just earlier Rhea had said she’d be parting ways with him, but here she was jumping in to protect him again...
Hypocrite. He mused.
Meanwhile, Oriana on the other hand couldn’t help but laugh in amusement at Rhea’s actions, "How interesting. Rhea, why do you look scared?" Her gaze suddenly darkened, "Could it be that this man is an outcast and you’re trying to protect his identity?"
When Oriana said those words, the rest of the fire controllers stood on alert, they all began to prepare their flames. The atmosphere tensed up even more, and the people in the eatery started to run outside.
Rhea looked at the fire controllers from the corner of her eyes, only Cal didn’t bother to move. He only stared at her, while the rest were circling the eatery preparing to attack if it turned out Draven was an outcast. Rhea swallowed hard, she felt her blood ran cold, if they really found out Draven’s identity, they would all gang up on him and bring him down with their flames.
Despite Rhea’s anxiousness, she opened her mouth and laughed softly, "Oriana, everyone in Birhhan knows about the conflict between us. If you want to ruin my image completely, then go ahead. But my husband has natural good looks and an imposing air, I can’t bear that you are standing so close to him. You don’t expect me to stand by and watch another woman standing so close to my husband, do you?"
Upon hearing the phrase, "My husband," the fire controllers gazed at Rhea in disbelief. Only Cal remained composed, standing as if the unfolding events had no connection to him.
However, when Draven heard the name "Oriana," he cast her a subtle glance. It made sense, he thought, as she was Alina’s niece. His aura turned sinister, and his expression grew colder as he looked at the relative of the person he hated the most in the world.
Oriana, oblivious to the gaze directed at her from Draven, responded with a cold laugh, "Husband? How audacious of you to boldly claim that he is your husband."
Zoorah interjected from behind, "Did you marry a stranger after your husband went missing? Rhea, do you not care about tarnishing our family name? Have you ever considered the consequences this would have on our household?"
Upon hearing Zoorah’s words, the fire controllers exchanged looks. Rhea had really gone far by marrying someone who’s identity was unknown right after the general went missing, they couldn’t help but start to wonder if she had something to do with the general’s disappearance since she was in cahoots with the Dragons.
Rhea could feel the judging eyes of the fire controllers fixed upon her, causing her to clench her teeth. "Zoorah, that’s enough," she cautioned, yet Zoorah persisted in speaking. "You have truly proven your worthlessness; you’re attempting to protect an unidentified man, and I’m sure he is the very creature you aided in killing lord Edmund. Who knows, maybe it was because of him that you killed the general!" She shouted accusingly, ensuring that everyone heard her.
"If your mother were alive, she would have been profoundly disappointed in the person you’ve become - a daughter who is good for nothing!"
Cal, who had remained silent until then, stepped forward and grabbed Zoorah’s arm. "That’s enough of your nonsense," he warned. However, Zoorah pulled her arm out of his grip and continued speaking.
"If your mother were alive, she would have taught you how to behave properly. You are nothing but a disgrace. You_"
Rhea, seething with anger, didn’t let her finish. In a swift motion, she somersaulted through the air and landed in front of Zoorah. Before anyone could react, she drew her ankle dagger and forcefully grabbed her sister’s jaw. "You talk too much nonsense with your mouth. Let me help you get rid of it!" With these words, Rhea raised her dagger towards Zoorah’s mouth, causing Zoorah to struggle in an attempt to break free. Fear drained the color from her once rosy complexion.
Rhea used her strength to hold her jaw and raised the dagger to begin cutting her lip. However, before she could inflict a deep wound, she was forcefully slammed away from Zoorah by an unexpected and powerful force. Despite being sent flying, Rhea was promptly grabbed and pulled to safety by Draven. Draven’s expression turned into a deep displeased frown as he directed his attention towards Oriana, who had used her magic to forcefully separate Rhea from Zoorah.
Meanwhile, Rhea’s mind was consumed by anger, causing her to forcefully break free from Draven’s grip and position herself in front of him instead. She had reached her limit with these people.
On the other hand, Zoorah noticed blood trickling from her mouth, which caused her eyes to widen in shock. She mistakenly believed that Rhea had actually cut her lips, resulting her to let out a loud scream before she fainted on the ground due to fear.
With a piercing glare directed at Oriana, Rhea confronted her, saying, "If you also have the audacity to speak ill of me or my husband, then try me, you bitch!"
