Born To Rise In Konoha
Chapter 116

Chapter 116: Chapter 116

Murik Jinpachi’s face twisted with arrogance, but the killing intent in his eyes toward Saitama was impossible to hide. With a vicious swing of his blade—the Blastsword: Shibuki—he launched an attack.

"Hmph!"

A volley of explosive tags flew out like a curtain of paper, descending upon Saitama like a deadly rain.

"Boom!"

A chain of explosions erupted in Saitama’s path, thundering one after another.

"Ahhh!"

Jinpachi’s reckless, indiscriminate attack showed no regard for allies or enemies. Mist and Konoha shinobi alike were forced to scatter from the blast radius.

"Heh! Keep running, brat!"

Jinpachi growled, not even glancing at the wounded Mist ninja caught in his attack.

Saitama narrowed his eyes, his expression calm despite the devastation.

"Tch. Troublesome."

He observed the blasted terrain around him. While the explosions weren’t as powerful as genuine detonation tags, the sheer number was overwhelming.

His Sharingan spun slowly—three tomoe locking in on Jinpachi as he searched for an opening.

"Zzt—!"

Electric chakra surged along Saitama’s arm, lightning crackling vividly. He dashed forward with flickering steps, zigzagging unpredictably. Explosions burst near him, but none made contact.

"Huh?"

Jinpachi’s brow twitched as he tracked Saitama’s erratic movement. A wicked grin spread across his face. He abandoned long-range attacks and lunged forward, raising Shibuki high.

"C’mon then! Time to die!"

His mad laughter echoed as he rushed to meet Saitama head-on.

"Boom! Boom!"

Detonations followed Jinpachi’s footsteps like deadly punctuation. The area around the two combatants cleared out as other shinobi gave them space, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire.

"Zzt—!"

Lightning flickered again. This time, the chakra condensed into a blade-like shape extending from Saitama’s sword—a refined Lightning Release technique, enhancing the edge and length.

They clashed.

"Hyaah!" "Shhhk!"

Their weapons collided in a burst of sparks.

"Clang!"

Saitama’s blade struck Shibuki cleanly. But to his alarm, more explosive tags began to unroll from Jinpachi’s sword, slithering down the edge like deadly serpents, aiming for Saitama.

"Crack—!"

Saitama’s lightning surged. A burst of radiant blue light exploded between them. Jinpachi flinched, the nerves in his hand spasming from the intense electric shock.

"Tch!"

Jinpachi kicked off the ground, disengaging with a wide leap to recover distance.

Saitama exhaled slowly.

"This one’s not that dangerous... but killing him in all this chaos is the hard part."

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Uchiha Pomori—his second-company captain—struggling against another enemy.

"That guy... Kushimaru Kuriare."

Saitama recognized him instantly.

Kurisan Kushimaru, another of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, wielded the Nuibari—a long needle-like sword threaded with steel wire. He danced around Pomori with eerie grace, leaving shallow cuts and looping the wires skillfully.

Pomori gritted his teeth, dodging with difficulty. Without his Sharingan, he’d already be dead.

"Zzt—!"

Saitama’s blade crackled again. This time the lightning was deeper in hue, denser, and more focused. The air around it buzzed ominously.

This was his evolved technique—a refined version of Chidori fused into his sword. The blade now cut with surgical precision, cloaked in concentrated chakra like a vibrating scalpel.

Jinpachi, watching warily, felt a prickle crawl up his arm.

Even through the hilt of his sword, the feedback from Saitama’s chakra sent a warning.

"Kuriare! Hurry and finish your guy! I might need backup!"

"Heh, don’t tell me you’re losing, Jinpachi!"

Kushimaru cackled, not breaking stride as he slashed another gash across Pomori’s side.

Pomori staggered, blood staining his flak jacket.

"If not for my Sharingan..."

he muttered, barely holding on.

"Pomori!"

Saitama called, motioning for him to fall back.

"Your opponent is me!"

Jinpachi snarled, swinging his explosive blade horizontally.

"Clang!"

Saitama met it mid-swing, locking blades. Then, he kicked off the ground, lightning surging through his body.

"Zzt!"

In a flash, he burst forward.

"Ugh!"

Jinpachi winced as his weapon arm twitched again, reacting to the electric current. His blade deflected awkwardly.

Suddenly—flick!

A handful of explosive tags fell from Shibuki toward Saitama’s feet.

"Tch!"

Jinpachi immediately leapt back and formed a seal.

"Explode!"

"BOOM! BOOM!"

The ground shook violently as a massive explosion engulfed the area.

"Did I get him?"

Jinpachi squinted into the smoke, his right hand charred but still gripping Shibuki tightly.

Even if he survived, he thought, no one could come out unscathed from that.

"Saitama!"

Pomori shouted, but he was pinned by Kushimaru and couldn’t come to help.

Suddenly—

"FWOOSH!"

A shadow burst from the smoke like a thunderbolt.

"What?!"

Jinpachi’s eyes widened.

Saitama emerged, unharmed—only his flak jacket scorched and dusty from the blast.

"Clang!"

Saitama’s blade crashed into Shibuki again.

Jinpachi cursed.

He’s too fast! And that blade...!
