Chapter 1059: Chapter 1059 Trance
Jade was crying hard, her tears mingling with the despair that weighed heavily on her heart. The reality of her situation was unbearable: her father, once a figure of protection, had become a gambler and a drunkard, selling her to a pleasure house to pay off his debts.
The life that awaited her now was one of servitude, reduced to fulfilling the needs of men who saw her as nothing more than a commodity.
She struggled to understand how her life had spiraled into this nightmare. Once, her days had been filled with light and hope, but now, darkness seemed to stretch endlessly before her.
Memories of a happier time flashed through her mind—days when her father was a different man, when the world felt full of possibilities.
But those memories were now like distant dreams, irrelevant to the harsh reality she faced.
Jade closed her eyes, willing herself to forget the past, knowing it held no comfort for her today. The girl she once was seemed like a stranger, lost in a time that no longer existed.
All that mattered now was surviving the grim future that lay ahead.
She whispered a prayer, seeking the strength to endure whatever was to come, hoping desperately that she could emerge from this nightmare with her spirit unbroken.
She was in a room, and this was her third night already. The walls, cold and unyielding, seemed to close in on her as she sat on the edge of the bed, staring into the dim light.
The first two nights had been spent in an agony of anticipation, her body trembling as she curled up beneath the thin sheets, praying that no man would come to claim her.
So far, she had been lucky—no one had entered her room, leaving her with a temporary reprieve. But Jade knew that all luck runs out eventually.
The silence was shattered by a sharp, metallic sound. "DING!" The doors creaked open, and Jade’s heart leapt into her throat as two figures stepped into the room. A woman and a man.
Jade recognized the woman immediately—she was one of the overseers of the pleasure house, her presence always signaling some new ordeal.
But the man was a stranger, and yet, deep down, Jade understood that this was the night her life would change forever.
Her breath hitched as she tried to steady herself, sighing in defeat as the reality of the situation settled over her like a heavy shroud.
Still, she forced herself to lift her gaze, to take in the man who would alter her fate.
He was dressed in a robe of deep crimson, its fabric shimmering with an array of colors that caught the flickering light, each thread woven with such precision that it spoke of unimaginable wealth and status.
Jade had only ever seen such garments from a distance, worn by the great masters who passed through Heavenly Immortal City—those who were rumored to be immortals, beings of immense power and influence.
She had watched, awestruck, as they rode flying swords high above the city, their displays of might and skill a constant reminder of the world’s vastness and her own insignificance.
Yet here was one of those figures, standing in her small, dimly lit room, and Jade couldn’t help but feel a mix of awe and dread.
As she looked closer, Jade was struck by the man’s appearance. He was, without a doubt, the most handsome man she had ever seen.
His tall frame seemed to command the space, his presence filling the room in a way that was almost suffocating.
There was a power in his bearing, a confidence that radiated from him, making him appear almost untouchable.
His features were sharp and defined, his eyes cold but with a flicker of something deeper—an intelligence, a calculation that unnerved her.
Despite his intimidating presence, there was a calmness about him, an unshakable composure that set him apart from any man she had ever encountered.
Jade’s heart pounded in her chest as she realized the significance of his aura.
Though she was not a cultivator, she had spent her entire life in the city, observing the demeanor of the masters who frequented its streets.
There was no mistaking it—this man was powerful, a master in every sense of the word.
Fear gripped her, but alongside it was a flicker of hope, a desperate wish that, despite everything, this man might show her some kindness on what was to be her first night of many in this life she had been forced into.
She clung to that hope, fragile as it was, as the man’s eyes finally met hers. In that moment, Jade knew that whatever happened next, her life would never be the same.

"Young master, this girl’s name is Jade. She is pure and untouched, a young one at only eighteen," the woman at Clark’s side announced, her voice steady and practiced, though there was a subtle edge of anticipation in her tone.
She had seen many transactions like this, but something about this one felt different—perhaps it was the man’s casual demeanor or the girl’s palpable fear.
Clark’s eyes, sharp and calculating, moved over Jade with a detached interest. She was beautiful, that much was clear, but his expression remained unreadable.
"I like her. Come, girl. You have a new home now," he said, his tone flat as he reached into his robes. With a flick of his wrist, he tossed a storage ring toward the woman beside him.
She caught it with practiced ease, her fingers already moving to inspect its contents. What she saw inside made her gasp, her eyes widening in disbelief.
The sum inside was staggering, easily ten times what she had originally intended to charge. For a moment, she stood frozen, unsure how to react to such generosity—or perhaps, extravagance.
"Jade, it’s okay. Come here," Clark beckoned again, his voice softer but carrying an undeniable command. The words seemed to pull Jade from her fearful trance.
