Chapter 961: Chapter 230: The Old Blood Infant, Now a Great Harm

"Every Magic Element has different arrangements, and the methods of summoning are not all the same. How can I teach you?" Master Puskas rolled his eyes. "Besides, even if I knew and was willing to teach, could you learn it? Summoning magic is about constructing the order of magic; the higher the level of magic, the more talent is required from the mage. Looking at you from all angles, you rough-hewn block, you don’t seem to have the level."

"You old coffin! Did you come here just to scold me?" Liu Zhenhan felt really humiliated by the old man’s words, which dealt a severe blow to his self-esteem. It seemed not only one magic connoisseur had said something similar; everyone Liu Zhenhan knew who had any association with magic seemed to have a low opinion of the Overlord’s comprehension of magic. This was frustrating for the very proud Liu Zhenhan.

"Scolding you is necessary, of course. Do you know how much hardship I endured to reach Saint Chiao at my age? And you? You’re really infuriating." Master Puskas cursed angrily. "Also, don’t be ungrateful, you little wretch. I’ll have you know, it was after a bitter battle with a Blood Magic mage that I advanced from a Magic Tutor to a Saint Level!"

"Was that Blood Magic mage called Kantona?" Liu Zhenhan chuckled, having heard long ago from Prince Moore Benitez that only one mage, Kantona, had ever emerged from the Underground World, and he was also the only one who had reached the level of a Magic Tutor. According to the experiences Liu Zhenhan had pieced together, studying single-type magic, the highest level a mage could achieve was that of a Magic Tutor. The patron deity of the Demon Clan, the Evil-eye Tyrant, would absolutely not tolerate the emergence of a Magic Tutor among his vassals. Therefore, Kantona’s level was quite astonishing.

"How did you know? That fellow was indeed called Kantona. He had a deep-seated hatred for the Elves. Back then, I couldn’t stand seeing him kill and then extract mana from the blood, which was just too evil. That’s why I challenged him," Master Puskas’s facial muscles twitched as he spoke. "He was formidable! Kantona wasn’t as advanced as I was, but his Blood Infant was incredibly powerful. Luckily, over a hundred years ago, I still had the habit of venturing out with followers. With many against one, and much to my good fortune, we ended up killing him. But his corpse was still snatched away by the Blood Infant, which flew faster than a bird."

"When was that year?" asked Liu Zhenhan.

"It was in winter," replied Master Puskas, blinking. "I remember clearly, it was during the snow night and the ice river period when I fought that Blood Magic mage Kantona."

"Master, I have to say, you were really lucky. Every year, during the lunar eclipse period, a Blood Mage who hasn’t been through the ’Eclipse Baptism’ can directly ascend a level. Kantona was just unlucky. If he had waited until the next year to confront you, there would be one more Saint Chiao in this world and one less Puskas." Liu Zhenhan laughed loudly. "Letting his Blood Infant escape was the silliest act on your part. Didn’t you know that inside the head of every Blood Infant there’s a special ’Thrall’, and once a Blood Mage reaches the Saint or Sub-Saint level, a ’Blood Soul Thrall’ will also form in their head. This is serious business! Anyone who gets this ’Blood Soul Thrall’ can consume it or bless it directly to possess all the mana of a Saint or Sub-Saint level Mage!"

"Didn’t expect it to be so complicated, did you?" Liu Zhenhan laughed crazily, taking in the old man’s consternation. "You could’ve been more saintly than Saint Chiao!"

The six Thralls on the Mithril arm flashed with a splendid rose hue, one by one, in front of Master Puskas, who was an exceedingly knowledgeable Saint Chiao. Now, he was left gaping by a magic-ignorant Saint Chiao lecturing him on Blood Magic, contrasting sharply with how Master Puskas had patiently explained to this fool what the Blood Clotting Technique was before his venture to the Underground World. Back then, Liu Zhenhan’s expression was much like Puskas’s today.

"Stop talking!" Master Puskas waved his hand to halt Liu Zhenhan’s endless chatter, speaking slowly: "I didn’t know before, but now I can finally understand. It turns out to be this ’Blood Soul Thrall’ causing trouble. Since you understand Blood Magic so well, I might as well tell you that it was Kantona’s Blood Infant that damaged the Magic constraints on the Space-Time Rift above the Kalimdo Plains."

"Oh?" Liu Zhenhan was surprised. "A couple of months ago, when we met in Dorott Duchy, I heard you say that the constraints on the Space-Time Rift had loosened. So it was that Kantona’s Blood Infant that caused it? Could the Demon Clan invade earlier than expected?"

"Invade my ass! That minor loosening only allows some riff-raff to come through. The Holy Vatican’s two Dragon Knights aren’t pushovers. Oh, I forgot to tell you, Lampard, the Dragon Knight’s Golden Giant Dragon mount, Haselbaink, has grown a second head. Lampard Knight has always looked up to you, you know," said Master Puskas with a smile.

"That kid is too naive; I fear he’ll be used as cannon fodder in the future," Liu Zhenhan shook his head. "I feel we need to kill that Blood Infant as soon as possible, otherwise, it will surely cause trouble sooner or later."

"I was wondering why, in just over a hundred years, that Blood Infant’s strength had grown so quickly. It turns out to be the influence of a Magic Tutor ’s ’Blood Soul Thrall.’ Once this news spreads, every mage and warrior will probably seek him out, not just the Holy Vatican and myself. Looks like I can relax now," Master Puskas gleefully said. "However, his strength is ultimately insufficient. Although sneaking around like a ghost, he eventually got hit by one of my spells, costing him half his life at least."

"You’re wrong again, Master," Liu Zhenhan said to Master Puskas with a sinister smile. "Though the Blood Infant has a humanoid form, its bodily structure is still that of a Magical Beast’s genes, and its self-healing ability is beyond our Beamon, humans, Elves, or Dwarves could ever imagine. The resilience of Kantona’s Blood Infant is second only to that of a cockroach."

Master Puskas was stunned, clearly surprised by why there would be such evil magic techniques.

"The Blood Infant is the alter ego of every Blood Mage. Even if the mage dies, the Blood Infant can continue to live. It possesses half of the mage’s mana, lifespan, and all of his knowledge. This Blood Infant is already over a hundred years old; by all accounts, it should be able to live for about nine hundred more years. Master, make sure to hit harder next time when you strike!" Liu Zhenhan patted the old man on the shoulder.

"What’s there to be pleased about? This Blood Infant has already made it to the Donau Wasteland. Although I am a Qi Mage, what I practised is not an offshoot of Qi Magic but Wind System Spells. So I simply can’t match the speed of this little Blood Infant, but I definitely drove him into the Donau Wasteland. The problem is I don’t know exactly where." Master Puskas spoke calmly, "I just hope he has gone to your territory, Stirring up trouble in Feilengcui."

Liu Zhenhan was at a loss for words.

It wasn’t the master’s words that alerted him to a serious issue—he nearly failed to realize something critical. The story of Blood Mage Kantona was almost a household tale in the Underground World; this blood infant of the first talent of the Moore Clan was incubated using the egg of the high-level Magical Beast ’Golandan Highland Teredin’, not only capable of flying but also of burrowing underground. Not only was it formidable, but it was also adept at escaping. This teredin Blood Infant possessed the mage’s ’Blood Essence Pouch’, and logically, it definitely had the ability to cross the Gang Wind Trench to return to the Underground World, which meant there was a significant possibility that Prince Moore had been concealing this trump card all along, playing dumb, and acting as a pig to eat a tiger.

If this assumption held true, then as neighbors to these fallen Elves, both Feilengcui and Caiyu City would face considerable threats in the future. The fallen Elves were not to be trifled with; this was determined ten thousand years ago when the Elf Clan banished them to the Underground World.

"I’ll go." Liu Zhenhan realized where the Blood Infant might be hiding, without doubt, most likely in the newly established city of the fallen Elves beneath the snowy mountains, within the pine forests.

"Are you scared?" Master Puskas squinted at Liu Zhenhan, scrutinizing him.

"Scared? What I’m afraid of is him not coming. If he does, there’s no way he can escape." Liu Zhenhan chuckled coldly.

Due to the Blood Infant’s innate cocktail magic power, although it possessed great intelligence, it faced a huge bottleneck in magic, which in a way was similar to the dragonfolk. Therefore, even with such abundant magic power, this teredin Blood Infant could definitely not unleash the Mage’s Forbidden Curse. In a straight fight, it certainly couldn’t stand against the large group of warriors stationed in Feilengcui; naturally, with the migration work of the two groups of fallen Elves just underway, it was absolutely impossible for them to wage war against him at this time. So Liu Zhenhan wasn’t too worried.

"You really are a young man full of vitality!" Master Puskas gave a thumbs-up, "I truly didn’t misjudge you! The success rate of the Prophecy Method is only fifty percent, but I’ve found that when it comes to prophecies about you, they have never failed to materialize, no matter how absurd they may be."

"If you’re not busy, I sincerely invite you to join me for a stroll in the Taklamago Desert. It seems you’re not too busy; perfect, I’ll take you on a trip." Liu Zhenhan whispered to the old man.

"I just know one thing." Master Puskas’s eyes were fixed on Liu Zhenhan’s head, "Inside that head of yours is a ’Blood Essence Pouch’ that can double my strength. Give it to me, and I will go with you."

"Obischillaci!" Liu Zhenhan said, "Why don’t you go eat shit."

My grandmother got sick and was hospitalized; I’ve been really busy, but I will definitely update tomorrow.
