Chapter 952: Chapter 225: Dragon Clan’s Great Gossip
"May I have a word in private?" the Seven-Colored Dragon, Ibrahim, furrowed his brow in thought for a long time, lowering his voice and muttering to Liu.
"Alright," Liu’s eyes darted around and he pointed towards the corner to the right of the Golden Crown Arena. "How about over there?" he suggested to Ibrahim.
"Fine," Seven-Colored Dragon, Ibrahim, using the "Dragon Soaring Technique," floated into the air, tilting his head, "Follow me."
"Hehe..." Liu smiled with pursed lips, casting a wave of Blood Magic, enveloping his body, and motioned towards the corner.
Liu’s Blood Magic was at best comparable to a human swordsman who had just learned to draw a sword. By the standards of Sword Chant, his proficiency wasn’t even basic—being able to control and maneuver at will signified a basic level in Sword Chant. Merely drawing the sword out of its sheath and throwing it without care, such a level, if indeed it needed to be classified, could only be regarded as infantile.
However, in the eyes of the two from Dragon City, Piegel’s performance was another matter. To them, it seemed as if he wielded the Dragon Soaring Technique himself, remaining stationary in mid-air. Originally, the couple from Dragon City and he had been shoulder-to-shoulder flying toward the stone wall, but he suddenly shot towards the wall with a "woosh," as fast as thunder, much faster than the two from Dragon City.
As his feet neared the stone wall, he suddenly kicked back, causing the wall to boom thunderously. He flipped three times in the air and landed firmly on the ground, his pose graceful and neat, earning a round of applause. With such a display, he was even more Dragon-like than the Dragon Clan.
"This guy really knows how to show off," the Seven-Colored Dragon and the Fairy Dragon muttered to themselves.
Liu broke into a cold sweat from his own daring stunt.
It was a spontaneous idea; ever since he used Blood Magic to lift the humanoid figure into the air, Liu had been wondering if the same magic could lift him too. Today’s trial proved it feasible, but his level of Blood Magic was rookie to the extreme. He could release but not retract, able to throw it out but unable to control its trajectory in the air, and the force of this Blood Magic entirely exceeded Liu’s expectations. Without quick reflexes, he would have smashed headfirst into the stone wall.
"Richard, your flying action was quite impressive," Fairy Dragon Luna slowly descended from the air, complimenting Liu first, making his face turn red.
"Thank you for your praise," Liu’s eyes glanced at the Beamon in the stands and the main priest on the arena looking towards them, then turned to the couple from Dragon City, "What was so secretive about bringing me here?"
"It’s like this..." the Seven-Colored Dragon, Ibrahim, fumbled nervously, struggling for a long while without uttering a coherent sentence, looking troubled.
"Let me say it," Fairy Dragon Luna glared at her husband and took over, "Richard, the tales you mentioned about Astonvila left us astonished because some of the fun facts were unknown to us, and the names of several members of the Dragon Clan you mentioned were also very accurate, giving us enough reason to believe that you have a close relationship with the Frost Giant Dragon, Astonvila, but... whether you are Astonvila’s son is still up for debate."
"Do you need some token of trust for you to believe?" Liu’s eyes rolled, wondering if he should ask Helen to go back to Andulan with the steel plate in the ring to ask the elders for some personal tokens from the past.
"Sorry, even if there was a token, it can’t conclusively prove that you are Astonvila’s son," Fairy Dragon Luna’s words deflated Liu.
"Don’t be so downhearted; you have at least convinced us to a large extent with what you’ve said. Initially, I didn’t quite believe your story about the Hell Black Dragon coming to the surface, but now we both are somewhat convinced. If the arrival of the Hell Black Dragon on the surface is verified, we will no longer harbor any doubts about your words," Fairy Dragon Luna looked intently at Liu.
"It is indeed the truth. About this matter, I have no reason to lie to you," Liu was pleased inwardly, starting to contemplate how to propose having ordinary Giant Dragons as his mounts.
"Richard, considering your physique, strength, and the fluctuations of the Magic Element within you, to speak frankly, we both already believe what you’ve said," Seven-Colored Dragon, Ibrahim, who had been silent, now spoke with a hint of difficulty, "If you weren’t a descendant of the ’Dancer of Frost,’ if it weren’t for the training by Astonvila, known as the first combat genius of the Dragon Clan, I absolutely can’t believe you could achieve such high levels in strength, physique, and fluctuations of Magic Element."
You’re merely looking for excuses for your own failures, Liu thought secretly with amusement.
"Even if this matter is true, we in Dragon City will definitely not recognize it, will not acknowledge your identity," Fairy Dragon Luna added.
"What do you mean?" Liu glared, his expression fierce, If playing along for so long didn’t yield benefits, then why bother at all!
