Chapter 932: Chapter 218 Genius Lineage _2

Moer brought the bashful Joan of Arc, the young nun, before several Mages who considered themselves above all others. With just one sentence, she obliterated the pride of the Mages who were pompously pontificating and spitting all over the place.

"Her father is Puskas," Moer’s statement silenced the Mages who had been speaking loftily a moment ago.

Mourinho learned of this later and came over especially to confirm it, seeming somewhat incredulous that Puskas’s daughter could appear here, let alone believing she would be the heir of the Feilengcui Lord. However, after seeing the Magic Flame Mark, the Chief Priest of the Swans was utterly speechless.

"With this certificate, Richard, you’ve really secured a life-saving token for yourself," Mourinho said, clapping Liu Zhenhan on the shoulder. "I owe Master Puskas a favor. If his daughter ever needs any assistance, feel free to speak up."

Liu Zhenhan had not expected the old man Puskas to have such clout; he was the one taken aback instead.

The sacrificial ceremony had become a complete disappointment. Due to the disruption caused by Moer and Helen, the subsequent contests could no longer satisfy the spectators’ expectations. The preliminary rounds were to continue over several days, and it was no wonder that the audience held little hope for the matches in the coming days, seeing the seeds from each delegation provoke such reactions on the first day.

The nobles were still harboring hopes; they were waiting for the closing of the Shaman of Divine Songs’ performance that evening. During the midday banquet, most of the nobles gathered around the Elder Wolf, Quentin Old Redkenap, having already discussed their plan.

As soon as the Autumn Sword Feast ended that evening, a large number of notable nobles, along with their families, converged on the main grandstand. In the entertainment-starved social circles of the nobility, even a piece of unfounded gossip could delight people for a long time, let alone witnessing a delightful event about to unfold before their own eyes.

Liu Zhenhan had a vague feeling that something was amiss. Before he could grasp it, Elder Wolf Quentin Old Redkenap took the initiative to cause trouble. The elder’s demand was outrageous yet reasonable.

"For the sake of fairness, Your Grace must give us a chance to see for ourselves, right?" Before Elder Wolf could finish speaking, many of the younger, reckless nobles began to heckle.

"Isn’t this outrageous!" His Majesty, the King, laughed and scolded. "Elder Redkenap, you’re not asking to be impeached by the Noble Inspection Court, are you?"

"Just monarch!" Old Redkenap was clearly prepared with his lines, swishing his silver tail proudly behind him. "I think the kingdom should commend such admirable pioneers. How could they be impeached?"

"Yes, of course, they should not be impeached!" Several nobles from the Inspection Court laughed heartily.

Cui Beixi really couldn’t stand it anymore. She opened her mouth several times, wanting to interject. Finally, after looking at Mourinho, she decided against it. She turned to gather Golinny, Gomes, and Fei Wenli to leave this ridiculous place.

The Chief Priest of the Swans grabbed the seductive Cui Beixi, whispering with a chuckle, "Don’t rush off. Do you think this Richard is easy to deal with?"

The seductress instructor’s face turned red, and she bashfully tried to pull away from Mourinho’s grip. But after several attempts, she failed to break free. Mourinho’s lips still bore a hint of a smile. Suddenly seeing his daughter and son looking at him, he quickly released Cui Beixi’s arm and covered his mouth, feigning a couple of coughs.

"Are you all trying to supervise me?" Liu Zhenhan clasped his hands into his sleeves, and with his porcupine-like appearance, the gesture made him look all the more uncouth.

"We wish to demonstrate fairness," Old Redkenap said, smiling as he bowed slightly to Liu Zhenhan. "To dedicate oneself to the truth, any condition should be acceptable. Of course, if Your Grace feels too embarrassed, you may choose five amongst our nobility to join you in your chambers for supervision."

Qian Qian, who stood nearby, flushed red to the point of nearly bleeding, turned abruptly pale after hearing the words of the werewolf elder.

"Am I not the Shaman of Divine Songs?" Liu Zhenhan pointed to his nose with a finger and asked Old Redkenap.

"Of course you are, Your Grace," Quentin of the Wolf clan answered with politeness and reverence.

"Well, I am now ready to exercise the rights of the Shaman of Divine Songs. I’m calling upon the Saintess. Counting Qian Qian, I still have the right to summon nine more Saintesses. With so many young girls present today, my eyes are nearly dazzled. Can I start choosing now?" Liu Zhenhan let out a cold laugh, his icy gaze sweeping over the young noblewomen in attendance: "They are your kin, so why not have these Saintesses supervise me?"

The nobility erupted into commotion. Several hot-headed individuals rolled up their sleeves, ready to beat up this upstart Piegel—who did he think he was, making such an international joke! The idea of a commoner’s daughter being chosen as a Saintess was an honor, but that did not extend to noblewomen. The nobles would vie for a chance to be chosen as the Princess Consort, but no one would want to get involved in selecting a Saintess. The women of the Rhine tribe were famously ferocious; a few lionesses immediately started to berate the absurdity of this Shaman of Divine Songs—ever since his conflict with Prince Richard, nobody in the royal city held any good feelings towards this Piegel. The rare unity of enmity among the nobility only emboldened them even more.
