Boiling Beast Bloodline -
Chapter 91 - 91 5 Another Richard_2
91: Chapter 5 Another Richard_2 91: Chapter 5 Another Richard_2 The temple stood upon a high foundation, hundreds of granite steps led up to the majestic main entrance where a towering statue of the war god Kampas was seated.
The statue of the god was twenty-blade high.
He was adorned in a full suit of armor and his face was sternly masked – his features indiscernible.
In his left hand he held a jagged greatsword firmly planted into the ground, while his right hand rested on his knee, atop a book of law.
Flanked by the war god’s statue were two altar-like flower cups, blazing with raging fire.
Twelve pairs of giant stone pillars, each etched with vivid beast carvings and intricate designs, held up the main structure of the temple.
Each beast was meticulously sculpted, their likenesses uncannily lifelike.
Helen beckoned everyone to follow her up the steps.
Only as everyone stood at the feet of the statue did they truly grasp its overpowering presence.
Even Ningyu with his extensive knowledge and Avril, princess of the Sea Clan, were left wide-eyed with surprise.
Liu Zhenhan gazed up at the statue, dumbstruck.
He found it fascinating to finally see the figure of Kampas, who had protected him for so long.
The temple’s main doors were sealed shut.
Absorbed in the unfamiliar text etched into the colossal black wood doors, Liu was stumped despite his “wisdom enlightenment”.
Just as Liu was questioning when the doors would open, he noticed three peculiar statues on the smooth platform.
One was a beautiful woman with a snake’s body, another an intimidating giant bear, and the third a hedgehog covered in quills.
Each statue was life-sized and meticulously carved, even minute muscle details appeared true to life, as if they were living creatures.
“What are these?” Liu asked.
“These are the sacred pets of the war god Kampas.
The snake woman was his first pet, the giant bear is his trusty companion Misha, and that hedgehog is his range attack assistant named Leed.” Helen pointed to each statue as she explained comprehensively, “The snake-men from the Medusa clan were also Bimon Beastmen.
But for some unknown reason, they vanished mysteriously after the millennium war.
Misha represents the Pier Race’s totem, whereas Leed is the totem of your Pigiel race.”
The little fox pinched Liu’s nose and playfully remarked, “Richard, huh…
Leed, don’t your names sound like brothers?”
“Unbelievable.
It turns out that not only did the War God keep a snake beauty as a pet, but also a pig.” Liu spoke nasally as his nose was pinched.
Avril turned away.
Seeing the little fox tease Liu boiled her blood.
“How come the War God can keep three magical beasts?
That’s unfair!
I only have one…
and it’s dead…” Liu asked, grabbing the hand of the fox that was messing with him.
“How can we mere priests understand the wisdom of the war god Kampas?” Helen smiled; “However, a few priests in the kingdom now have twin pets, which is a kind of breakthrough.”
“I’m going to have three pets in the future!” Waving his fist and shouting out loud, Liu caused a commotion.
Several Bimons, who were devoutly worshipping nearby, gave him a disgusted look and quickly moved away.
Before Helen could speak, Avril couldn’t help but taunt him.
“Are you kidding?” Avril scoffed at him.
She had been waiting for days to find a good opportunity to retort, “A loser who’s been cursed by a magical beast?”
As soon as she had spoken, Helen hurried over to cover her mouth.
“You can’t just say anything!” Helen looked around nervously, her face paling, “If the temple learns about this, Richard could be stripped of his priestly privileges for life!”
Avril’s face slightly changed, but she stubbornly retorted, “What’s the big deal?
I just spoke the truth!
You incompetent…”
Realizing the gravity of her words, she quickly changed her tone, “You revered War God must have had a unique purpose for this despicable punishment.”
“None of your business!” Liu was infuriated, “Speak up again, and I’ll sell you to the human kingdom!”
“You dare!”
“What wouldn’t I dare to do?
Gude!” Liu ordered the panda at his back, “Go to the street and spread the word for me.
I’ve got a mermaid that I want to sell.
For a low price!”
Avril was unfazed and started to summon magic spells to retaliate.
Unfortunately, no matter how much she summoned, no magical fluctuations responded to her calling.
“Don’t bother.” the little fox watched her gleefully, “Even the greatest mages cannot summon any grade of magic here in our War God temple.
Under the shine of Kampas, this place is insulated from all magic.”
The mermaid blankly watched Gude waddle down the stairs.
Her eyelips twitched a bit before she sobbed all of a sudden.
“Stop it!” Ningyu was angry.
She hugged Avril and comforted her while scowling at Liu with eyes full of blame.
“Mom, I was just joking, I’m not really going to sell her!” Liu told the truth.
At this point, he was both afraid and fond of Ningyu.
