Chapter 669: Chapter 140: Making a Comeback_7
"Have I got it wrong, or are those two big lads hill giants? Their beards look suspiciously like gray dwarves," Liu Zhenhan pointed to the two five-meter high giants banging on drums and asked Daisy beside him.
"They arrived so quickly in just half a day." Daisy didn’t answer his question but just kept focusing on the enemy formation, her tone of voice tense as she said, "It seems they might have gathered another batch of reinforcements on the second layer of the Black Domain Continent. The cow-eagle people have relayed the information too quickly. What do we do now?"
"Let one of those blood elven mages return and explain the situation," Liu Zhenhan calmly instructed Gude.
Gude echoed an agreeable grunt before quickly running off.
"Nana is not here, Naga isn’t either! We didn’t give those blood elves any proof of the veracity of our words. What if the blood elf we let go turns against us?" Daisy clenched her fists, asking anxiously. "Barking Bull isn’t here either; the ribs of most of our Mastiff Warriors have been shattered, only a dozen of the Soul Wanderers’ undead bovine warriors were left. Our weapon losses are also severe. Without Naga’s wind system mana to activate the teleportation magic array, we won’t even have the chance to retreat to the green forest region!"
"What else can we do?" Liu Zhenhan smiled, "Fight."
"Even the gray dwarves’ ’King of the Hill’ has been mobilized." The Difeng Giant Chieftain Yangkele tutted, " It seems the Moore elves won’t quit until they level Flame Mountain Valley today."
"King of the Hill?" Liu Zhenhan finally understood that the two giants were indeed gray dwarves, shaking his head with a bitter smile. "How can dwarves grow so tall?"
"Dwarves originally have some unclear genetic relationship with us giants," the Difeng Chieftain also said with a bitter smile. "The King of the Hill is a variant among the dwarves, not ordinarily formidable. There’s a small chance among us giants of also giving birth to a dwarf giant who’s no taller than one and a half meters. These smaller giants, according to our habits, are generally called ’Napoleon’. In the south, among the Difeng giants living in Bonaparte Valley, they have a ’Napoleon’. He and the King of the Hill are natural opponents; it’s just a pity they weren’t born in our Flame Mountain Valley."
Guoguo stood on Liu Zhenhan’s shoulder, blinking her small eyes as she stared at the two giant dwarves.
"Guoguo will send a command to Barking Bull, we’ll negotiate first. If they don’t believe us, we’ll have to fight." Liu Zhenhan took a deep breath, "Obischillaci! The cooldown time for my golden figures isn’t up, damn it!"
"My Lord, it seems your ’Gao Cen’ has been severely damaged. Why haven’t you repaired it? One even seems to be broken," the Difeng Chieftain asked, looking confused.
"What’s Gao Cen?" Liu Zhenhan asked.
"Gao Cen is the giant word for mechanical puppets. According to the stories handed down by our ancestors, a long, long time ago, goblin traders who appeared all over the continent were very good at making mechanical puppets. They even once had us, Difeng giants, help them make ’Gao Cen’ because they didn’t have enough physical strength. Your ’Gao Cen’ seems to be unique; its body is truly terrifying. I wonder who designed them, they must be a great designer. But your Gao Cen seems to be driven not by precise gears and rollers, but by some sort of magic. However, you should repair it in time if it’s damaged, otherwise, it would be a pity."
Upon hearing Yangkele’s words, the looks of Ning Yu, Gortani, Moer, Daisy, and Liu Zhenhan instantly changed. The two Staff Shamans and Master Otigha’s mouths gaped open like those of a predator.
Only the little nun puckered her lips and muttered: Another deadly weapon.
"Yes, the ’Gao Cen’ on the ground are now magic-driven, not mechanical. We on the ground call these ’Gao Cen’, colossuses, or magic dolls." Liu Zhenhan’s gaze locked onto the Difeng Chieftain; his heart pounded so hard, it felt like it would jump out of his chest.
Liu now felt his muscles fully tense, momentarily ignoring the imminent enemy forces in front of him. In the cheesiest tone, he asked the giant chieftain, "Dear Yangkele, after hearing your explanation, I’ve learned a lot of things. But what I most want to know is, can... can you repair ’Gao Cen’?"
After saying this, Liu Zhenhan didn’t blink as he stared at the Difeng giant chieftain, Yangkele, not wanting to miss a single expression.
"Of course we can." Yangkele blinked his large eyes and said.
Liu Zhenhan closed his eyes and breathed a sigh of relief, repeatedly whispering praises of the god of war and Kampas above.
"Any Difeng giant who has learned anything about forging will never forget it. We are natural blacksmiths! We can not only mend Gao Cen but also make one. The blueprints of Gao Cen that our ancestors got from the goblin traders are still with us. Which adult Difeng isn’t studying its structure and principle? However..." There was a slight pause in the tone of Difeng chief Yangkele: "...creating a Gao Cen is much more complex than repairing one. Over ten thousand years ago, the Underground World became a place for exiling surface criminals, and the goblin traders left. Their departure resulted in us Difeng giants losing our rulers. The precise gears and axles inside Gao Cen used for drive, each link and size, require horrifying precision. Using only our experience and eyeballing, creating a successful Gao Cen would probably occupy the Difeng blacksmiths of Flame Mountain Valley for straight ten years without doing anything else."
"Brag whatever you want! Why haven’t I seen you guys make a Gao Cen?" O’Neal held his big belly and laughed rudely.
"Dear fat O’Neal, Gao Cen needs a pilot, and only goblins can fit in the cockpit. What can we do with a Gao Cen?" The Difeng chieftain chuckled and patted the shoulder of the Hippo poet: "Besides, we Difeng giants are so strong, it’s better to take ten years to marry and have a child than to make a Gao Cen as strong as us."
"Call me fat O’Neal again!" O’Neal sucked in his beer belly and waved his fist menacingly.
The giant chieftain Yangkele hugged the Hippo poet affectionately and laughed heartily.
"If given a precise ruler, how long would it take for you guys to make a Gao Cen?" Liu Zhenhan calmly observed the enemy’s movements while fixing his gaze on the giant chieftain.
"Given a ruler with accurate scales, if all the giants in Flame Mountain Valley work together, we can probably successfully make a Gao Cen in about half a year... The first time might take a little bit longer since we’ve never done it before, and it might be faster after we get used to it," the Difeng chieftain Yangkele smiled at Liu Zhenhan and said, "Lord Richard, your mechanical puppet is much more powerful than the Gao Cen we can make. It doesn’t need a driver. I can help you fix it when I have time... Of course... if you need a Gao Cen, as long as you can peacefully resolve the dispute between us and the fallen elves and bring long-awaited peace to the Furious Flame Continent, it would be an honor for all the indigenous people of our continent to serve you... Honestly, being able to personally create a Gao Cen is also a dream of a Difeng blacksmith, it’s just that we haven’t had the opportunity to do so for so many years."
As soon as the giant chieftain’s near promise-like words were spoken, the two Scepter shamans looked at each other, thinking that as long as Richard can cope with the situation today, in less than a year, he can absolutely form a Gao Cen team that can throw a full face-to-face dance party with the eight "Edward Scissorhands" of the Pompeii Empire.
"Why didn’t you tell me sooner?" Old Liu’s tears of joy were welling up, "It wasn’t easy for me to walk all the way through the human kingdom this time, right? I extorted a whole space ring of civilian goods! What’s a precise scale ruler? I extorted the most precise North Latitude Sundial, Vernier Caliper, Diamond Engraving Knife, Dial Caliper, Digital Caliper, Scale Caliper, Caliper with Dial, Outside Micrometer! All were bought for the blacksmiths of Razor Mountain!"
"You didn’t ask me." The Difeng chieftain shrugged apologetically.
"Today, I’ll stake everything I have to protect this valley!" Liu Zhenhan gritted his teeth and said.
"The Heavenly King’s shaman should be renamed to Gao Cen’s shaman." Master Otigha may be rejoicing or envying, he sighed deeply and said, "Dammit, Emperor Polo!"

I have to make up for yesterday’s lack. I know you will complain about me.
Yesterday I wrote an outline of a new book about my old job, how to cook. Well, it’s not shirking duty, is it?
