Chapter 633: Chapter 134 Coral Beauty and Malong Crystal_2
The negotiate representative of the Koutao Merfolk began shouting and babbling again, gesticulating wildly, which left Richard looking totally bemused.
"Honorable Overlord, this Koutao Mermaid says that this Coral Beauty Sculpture is formed by a unique colloidal coral from an underground lake. Every thousand years, it’s said that one is born from the holy well at the bottom of their lake..."
"A story I read in my youth from a popular travelogue by a human bard spoke of a tribe of mountain dwarfs, who lived in the Furnace Mountain Range of the Hundred Thousand Mountains. This tribe had once discovered a natural stalactite figure of a beauty while mining in the mountains. The realistic figure was taken as a miracle by this tribe and treasured greatly." the Koala Bear Shaman spoke, eyes twinkling like little green beans.
"That young dwarf, he single-handedly carried that stone beauty and fled from the Hundred Thousand Mountains, journeying a great distance to the plains of the Aegean Continent." chuckled Lord Deshang." Dwarf’s strength is indeed formidable, even we wouldn’t be able to carry that statue."
"And then what?" Several eager voices chorused.
"Regrettably, mountain dwarves are quite stubborn, they put great importance on miracles of Morading. If they lost one, they would spare no effort to retrieve it. Under the leadership of their chief, the Dwarf Soldiers from the Furnace Mountain Range tirelessly chased the audacious thief who dared to steal their sacred object. After a long pursuit, these mountain dwarves finally caught up with the unfortunate culprit on the edge of the Kalimdo plains, but a horrifying incident occurred there." Lord Deshang suddenly paused, leaving them in suspense.
"Damn, hurry up and tell us!" The audience who were leaning in to hear the story burst into complaints immediately.
Richard searched all over for a brick planning to smack some sense into him.
"Hehe... ...relax, let me continue...when the mountain dwarves caught the thief who stole the sacred object and retrieved ’Morading’s Miracle’ ..."
"Bullshit!" Richard interjected, laughing.
"Whether it’s bullshit or not, I don’t know. That’s what the bard’s notes said, I read a hand-copied version, so whether it’s true or false is unclear." The Koala Bear Shaman shrugged.
"Bards are known for their romanticism and longing for true love, their notes can’t be fully trusted."O’Neal rambled on looking like an expert.
"Who knows if it’s true or not." Suddenly Xiao Cui chimed in from the side.
At those words, Richard felt a chill running down his spine, his whole body prickling with apprehension.
"That’s just my guess." Xiao Cui flashed a brilliant smile at the Overlord. "There’s no responsibility to my guess."
"Many races firmly believe that rocks also have souls and lives," Elder Tang Jin interjected, nodding sagely.
Richard fell silent. It was true that coral worms had life and everything in the Aegean Continent couldn’t be measured by the standards of his old world. In the Aegean Continent, the probabilities of evolution for any species were equal.
When he looked at the Coral Beauty again, he noticed a change in her expression, almost like she was giving approval.
This realization horrified him even more.
Richard refused to dwell or speculate on it any further.
Daisy breezed into the room like a gust of wind, breaking the silence. The cute Fairy Dragon placed her hands behind her back, her face illuminated by a sweet smile.
"Richard, guess what I brought you?" Daisy teased, her nose crinkling in amusement.
"What?" Richard asked blankly.
"Take a look." Daisy dramatically revealed a handful of transparent blue, pentagon-shaped crystals in the style of the Persian treasure presentation.
"Isn’t this a Malong Crystal? It has to be, right? We have never collected something like this before; it must’ve been brought by those Koutao Merfolk trying to ransom their useless merfolk king. Am I right?" Richard took one of the crystals, blew on it, then placed it to his ear to listen.
"Perhaps you would’ve been fooled, but this is not a Malong Crystal. We folks from the Surface World call this crystal by a different name." Daisy smirked.
"Can you guys tell?" Richard turned to ask the two Scepter Shamans, who both vigorously shook their heads. Lord Remel took one of the crystals, wiped it on his robe, and compared it to one of his rings. Giggling mischievously, he said, "Though I don’t know what kind of crystal this is, I think it would make a pretty good ring."
"There are so many types of crystals. I only know that the best ones are Kagalite Life Crystals, and the two tribute types are the Singing Crystals and the Elemental Crystals. Not sure about the rest of the crystals like the Memory Crystal; we shamans really don’t need them." Without a hint of bashfulness, Lord Deshang took one of the crystals and stowed it away in his sleeve.
"It couldn’t be a Kagalite Life Crystal, could it?" Richard’s eyes bulged in excitement. "Obischillaci! That is a first-rate artifact that can absorb a fatal attack for the user! Jackpot...!"
"The Kagalite Crystal is rarer than even dragons, you would not find one so easily." Daisy rolled her eyes at him. "I didn’t expect you all to be so informed. Unfortunately, these are just Mailman Crystals, not the superior ones you are imagining–just a pretty good crystal that’s all."
