Chapter 582: Chapter 123: A Crafty Old Man and A Cunning Young One_1

The evening breeze was gentle, blowing on the body like a lover’s soft sigh.

Walking on the streets bathed in moonlight, Liu Zhenhan couldn’t control the feeling that it should be a beautiful woman who talks like a blooming flower, not an old scruffy man, walking with him on the streets at this moment.

Aside from Overlord’s personal guards, Rodman and Nedved, everyone else had already returned to the inn. This was what Liu Zhenhan was most proud of - the ability to give directions with just a glance, a dream for most people in high positions.

Such a leisurely stroll naturally didn’t bring up suitable topics, so the two maintained silence most of the time.

Liu Zhenhan wasn’t sure what this Saint Chiao Mage was trying to say. To be honest, although the old man kept making jokes, Liu Zhenhan really admired his magical abilities. Not knowing the other party’s abilities, Liu Zhenhan didn’t mind dragging things out indefinitely.

Having wandered past one street after another, Liu Zhenhan saw the old man’s hesitating look and thoughtfully sent away the two personal guards as well.

An old man and a young man strolled into a quiet alley. There were many old sycamore trees planted along the street. Under the huge shadow of these sycamore trees, there weren’t any phoenixes, but rather a bunch of nightingales.

These nightingales were each dabbing cheap perfume, wearing fashionable but low-quality long skirts. Every time they saw someone approaching, they’d take a trembling step forward and present an expression filled with unspeakable emotions.

Liu couldn’t help but smile wryly. This old man actually led him to the area known for its entertainment and brothels. What a real hero he was.

"Richard, what do you think about these nightingales?" Master Puskas broke the long silence with this seemingly random question.

"Huh?" Liu Zhenhan, who was enjoying the sights, was stunned by the question from the Saint Chiao Master. Even though he knew the master was infamous for frequenting ladies of the night, Liu never imagined that after hours of wandering around in silence, he’d come out with such a question.

"Do you discriminate against these nightingales?" Seeing Richard gawking with a red face, Saint Chiao Mage posed the question again in another way.

"I don’t care much, honestly. We all are trying to make a living, aren’t we? I use my fists, and they use their bodies." Liu Zhenhan, knowing that his daughter was born from the affair between the old man and a prostitute, was cautious with his words. Still, he generally looked down on hookers, no matter how much he tried to deny it.

The thought of hiring a prostitute, while stimulating, was something Liu Zhenhan would never do.

In his bones, Liu was a rather traditional man.

"I heard that there is a naturally occurring Chekin race in Bimon Kingdom, and that this race is often discriminated against in your kingdom. Is that true?" Master Puskas asked again.

"Who knows? It’s said to have originated from some craziness a priest stirred up with his battle chant ages ago. History is always filled with vague points, particularly in Bimon. But it’s certainly not about discrimination. Bimon is a society that values strength. Inevitably, weaker races will be looked down upon, and it’s not exclusive to Chekin. The same principle applies in human societies. As clergy, we see all Bimon creatures as equals. We can’t demand too much from civilians," Liu laughed.

"There is a nomadic human tribe known as Bepsy. They don’t have a country. Almost every Bepsy man is a thief, and every Bepsy woman is a prostitute," the old man mused, his white mustache twitching at the corners of his mouth.

"I know," Liu Zhenhan has had experience with them.

"Bepsy people always adhere to their language and traditional clothing. They have maintained their unique writing style. They have sold their dignity but have stubbornly held onto their culture. So they still exist within the human race, maintaining their racial integrity." Master Puskas explained.

"What are you trying to say exactly?" Liu Zhenhan couldn’t help but ask. If the old man continued to talk about these strange things or tried to discuss philosophy or justify prostitution, he would just turn around and leave.

"Since you possess two Fairy Dragons, you must know about Joan of Arc’s background, right? The Dragon Clan knows about a human named Puskas." Master Puskas stopped, turned around, and looked at Liu Zhenhan.

Liu squinted his eyes. He was going to play along but decided to nod his head instead.

"Will you promise me one thing? Help me take care of Joan, don’t let people bully her," said Master Puskas.

"But you are a Saint Chiao Mage! You’re a magic consultant in the Vatican’s Mage group!" Liu Zhenhan found it hilarious. Why would a high-ranking Saint Chiao Mage say such a thing to him? Especially when that annoying little nun, Joan, gave him such a headache. Everything she said or did somehow related back to the devils of Hell.
