Chapter 576: Chapter 121: Tidal Sacrifice - The Battle for Fame_1

As if responding to Liu’s awe-inspiring words, a melodious and distant flute sound echoed.

The starlight and moonlight overhead of the Colosseum quickly dimmed, as chaotic clouds swept across the sky, causing nearby owls to flutter in panic.

While the golden flute on her chest resonated, Dragon Knight Gaxia adjusted her golden helmet, and flicked her hair in the gentle night breeze. She took a step forward, and swiftly leaped onto the high viewing stand railing.

The night wind howled, and Dragon Knight Gaxia’s cloak whipped around in the wind.

Dragon Knight Gaxia didn’t utter another word. She glanced sideways at Liu, somersaulting gracefully off the viewing stand, her long hair twirling in the process.

Before anyone could comprehend what was happening, a pair of giant dragon eyes filled with mystery, emerged from the viewing stand. This was followed by a sound of the wind blowing through trees, and a giant green dragon swiftly took to the sky. Dragon Knight Gaxia sat atop the beast, holding her spear aloft. The dragon closed its wings, spun around, and began to circle above the arena.

The colossal bonfires at the center of the Colosseum flickered as the rush of air from the dragon’s ascent affected them.

"What a dramatic entrance!" Liu could not help but praise. This was the kind of entrance he had always dreamed of, but never realized.

"It’s a Jade Dragon!" Ruona and Daisy exclaimed in unison: "This advanced form of green dragon has plant-based magic. We wonder what level it is..."

"Have the Vatican’s two Dragon Knights made a pact? One rode a Golden Dragon, the other a Jade Dragon," Liu laughed: "They are a perfect match."

"Finish them all!" Moer snorted coldly, unfazed. She summoned her Tide Lord Gerein and Figo, thankful that the Colosseum was made entirely of stone, or these two hulking creatures surely would have collapsed the place.

The Jade Dragon roared defiantly at Gerein seated in the viewing stand.

The humanoid-serpent Tide Lord sneered, and began an incantation. A pair of gigantic "Wings of Wind" materialized on his flanks. With a flap of his transparent wings, he soared into the sky, confronting Dragon Knight Gaxia above the Colosseum.

The burly Figo held aloft a hooked anchor resembling a giant dart. He roared at the levitating dragon, the echo resonating throughout the Colosseum, louder even than the dragon’s roar earlier.

"Your spear throwing technique is exactly like mine, dear Figo. It wasn’t easy to make a weapon for you, so I beg of you, don’t throw it around, okay?" Liu instructed the whale-like warrior. Figo rolled his eyes, muttered something incoherently, then lifted his anchor onto his shoulder. He leaped off the viewing stand and landed in the center of the Colosseum, causing the whole area to vibrate.

"All these people for a single duel?" Dragon Knight Denilson of the Holy San Francisco Empire strode up to Liu and Moer. Pointing at Figo’s retreating figure, he asked, "Is this fair, for a noble?"

"The combat style of the Beamon priest involves using magic pets and followers. Anyone challenging a Beamon priest should be aware of this. What’s strange about that?" Helen found it amusing: "Our Moer only sent one follower into battle. It could have been more."

"It doesn’t matter, honorable Sir Denilson. We Dragon Knights never concern ourselves with the numbers of our enemy, but only where they are!" Dragon Knight Gaxia retorted confidently, brandishing her dragon spear.

The Jade Dragon made a soft, cryptic sound of dragon language that echoed in waves. The surrounding iron trees on the viewing stand started to move like living creatures, their trunks writhing as they transformed into tree spirits with disheveled leaves. The pots they were in were uprooted by feet made entirely of roots, the soil inside spilling out, and one by one, they leaped off the viewing stand into the Colosseum. They gathered together, climbing on top of each other, their bodies twisting together quickly. The leafy crowns of the iron trees, like the bodies of serpents, twisted and twined together to form a Giant Tree Spirit six meters tall. The entirely green Giant Tree Spirit stood heavily in front of Figo, its roots writhing and cracking the hard stone floor.

Figo stuck his large anchor firmly into the stone ground, and charged at the Giant Tree Spirit, engaging in a melee fight. Human spectators on the viewing stand found their hairs stand on end. Aside from this whale-like warrior, it would be hard to find another who would dare to brawl with such a huge Tree Spirit.

"The Beamon priests are always like this! A thousand years ago, you only commanded your magic pets in battle, and a thousand years later, you still do so! You are nothing but symbols of cowardice!" Dragon Knight Gaxia pointed her golden dragon spear at Moer, who was on the brink of a gusting wind on the viewing stand.

Hearing her words, Daisy and Nana smiled and looked at their lord. Indeed, among the Beamon priests, only their priest would join his magic pets in battle. There was not a second one.

"Don’t bite your tongue with all that boasting!" Moer scoffed. She spread her crystal-clear wings and flew up to the viewing stand in the air. She threw out a bolt of lightning, which gradually transformed into a web of electricity during the winding movement, and swept towards the Jade Dragon that was showing off its claws and teeth. Caught off guard, the Jade Dragon took a hard hit. As the lightning web covered the Jade Dragon, it quickly changed into a twisted lightning chain. It was nine connected rings in total, along with sparkling, rolling arcs of electricity sprinkled with droplets of water, splashing in all directions.
