Chapter 565: Chapter 118: Always on the Edge of Struggle_4

Liu Zhenhan found the guy’s hairstyle oddly ridiculous, but he nodded anyway with a smile.

"...This is Sir Denilson, the Dragon Knight of Saint Francisco..."

The focus of the duchy’s chancellor shifted to the crest-emblazoned knight, who blankly stared back at Liu Zhenhan.

"...This is Master Puskas, the Mage from Saint Chiao. Your presence here is an honor to us in Dorott." The chancellor assiduously nodded and bowed toward the scruffily appareled old mage.

Ignoring all the other introductions, Liu the focus of Liu Zhenhan was on the scruffy old mage, whose kind eyes were fixing on the young nun seated beside Liu Zhenhan. She recoiled and turned her head away, avoiding his stare and nibbling her bread like a little rabbit.

Master Puskas held a thoughtful gaze towards Liu Zhenhan, his eyes were muddled and clouded, surrounded with crusty bits. Despite his age, he possessed a hearty appetite.

Which was disappointing for those humans who had naively presumed Beamon to be beasts, these representatives were quite refined, especially the leading ambassador. Not only did his tailcoat look distinguished, but its split-back design also showcased a unique style and grace, unlike any human aristocrat’s griffin embroidered one. Standing next to him were several beautiful Beamon ladies that easily outclassed even the most famed beauties from human nobility, like candles smoldering beside a raging volcano.

"Renowned Bishop Kaka, I believe Dragon Knight Gaxia should have told you about my request by now. I need to know if you can do me this favor." Liu Zhenhan didn’t like being around the bush, so he went straight to the point.

"I am sorry, but I cannot be of help." The Red Bishop somberly admitted with a sheepish smile, "On behalf of the Holy Vatican, we are about to march against the Bimon Kingdom to spread the divine gospel to the final lands of the Aegean Continent."

"Hehe..." Liu Zhenhan chuckled, finding the bishop equally blunt.

"Did the Francisco Empire decide to send the Dragon Knights into the battle as well?" Koala Bear Shaman Deshang raised an eyebrow.

"Sir Denilson is here to safeguard me. As for declaring war against the Bimon Kingdom, I am still in Dorott. I am mediating the situation, which is highly confidential, so I haven’t publicized it yet." Sensing the greed in everyone’s gazes, Prince Zhang Bolun reluctantly withdrew his lewd gaze from the curvaceous elderesses.

"Your Highness, mediations hold no meaning in this case. The heretics who believe in the god of war and reign of Beamon had made their way onto the Vatican’s schedule ten years ago." The Red Bishop smoothly played it off with a smile, "Those who lost their lives at the hands of the Feilengcui battle were valuable talents, cultivated by the Vatican. Until we receive an official apology from the Beamon authority, the Vatican will not call off the punitive expedition to Feilengcui."

With a sarcastic smile, Liu Zhenhan chugged his wine dry, finding himself inadvertently embroiled in a larger cause. Seeing the two fellas from the Shalba family looking utterly deficient in their plight, it was apparent that they weren’t informed. At this point, it was explicit - the odds weren’t in their favor.

The pair of Scepter Shamans scoffed at this in contempt.

"Why should we apologize for defending our homeland of Beamon against marauders who slaughter our civilians?" retorted Helen.

"That’s your point of view, beautiful Miss Fawkes." Bishop Kaka asserted with certainty, "You’ve arrived just in time. I was planning to deliver a declaration of war to your Beamon Kingdom."

Liu Zhenhan’s hand rested on the edge of the table, ready to flip it if that bishop continued with his crap. Considering the Vatican’s stance, he could seek assistance from the Elven Moon Priestess and the Demon Clan. They certainly weren’t the only ones capable of using Purification Technique and Soul Transfer.

"Your Excellency, this war won’t be an easy fight. Without the backing of a few powerful nations, it will be difficult to wage this war. For now, Pope Paul Mardini is mulling it over. Soon, he will hold the second hearing for Dragon Knight Lampard." The usually silent Mage from Saint Chiao, Master Puskas chimed in, "Last time the Tornado Mercenary Group borrowed a few priests from you, and I understand your feelings. However, everything is still far from certain. Just because Dragon Knight Gaxia has been stationed in Dorott doesn’t necessarily mean the Pope will decide to proceed."

Coming from Saint Chiao mage, his words wrung out all the needless chatter. Including the Red Bishop, all fell into silence.

"Master Puskas, are you currently serving the Vatican?" Liu Zhenhan sensed the old man knew a lot more than others.

"Lord Richard, I am the Chief Elder of the Holy Vatican Magician’s Guild, and this matter has been confidential all along." Master Puskas replied with a grin, his beard glistening with grease.

"Can you take your daughter away? I believe she’d be eager to return to you." Liu Zhenhan insinuated with a grin.

"I’m not leaving! I’m staying with you!" The young nun glared at Liu Zhenhan in defiance.
