Chapter 514: Chapter 110 Breaking Formation Part 4
"Alright then!" Liu Zhenhan said with a cunning smile, "You guys go ahead and give it a try."
Before King Beckenbauer could respond, Ferguson Xu spoke up again, "No! Even if we do manage to choose the correct door, we’ll have to make that same choice seven more times on the inside, each time narrowing down until we can finally escape. We don’t have enough personnel! Your Majesty! We need 35 sacrifices to break through the formation. Otherwise, we’re stuck here forever!"
The Sea Clan was stunned. There were only six Sirens left, five Nagas, and for this expedition, 22 adult Mermaids came. They managed to preserve their safety at the cost of losing 38 guards and eight Storm Sorcerers. Many Mermaids were also injured, all internal------------------------------caused by the Fairy Dragon’s "Elemental Backlash Finger". These 33, plus two Storm Splitter sorcerers and two Magic Shark warriors, just exceeded the quota for 35 sacrifices by only two.
"What? By the Dragon God! Gambling our lives eight times in a row? Who would ever be that lucky! This formation requires so many lives to be sacrificed just to make it through? Since we’ve already triggered the magic core, we should be able to break the formation! This... This... This is too cruel!" Ruona asked Ning Yu in disbelief.
Ning Yu applied a sly Eastern tactic, offering only an apologetic grin, sans explanation.
"So the method you and I discussed to break the formation is the most straightforward after all," Liu Zhenhan said, smiling at Ruona.
"Beamon!" King Beckenbauer snapped.
All of the Sea Clan focused their attention on the Butterfly Man and the Cicada People standing behind Liu Zhenhan. They stared at them like sharks eyeing blood in the water.
"Stop it! Don’t beg me! I’m not into this sort of thing! If you want to go, go. If you want to fight, then fight. I’ll stand my ground," Liu Zhenhan said, sneering at the Sea Clan before him.
The Sea Clan knew if they continued to fight, they would be wiped out. Liu Zhenhan’s immunity to both wind and water magic made him the natural bane of the Sea Clan. Now, King Beckenbauer regretted not confining him in a "Metal Cage" under the sea, letting him starve to death.
They faced a true dilemma. Each and every member of the Sea Clan was dumbfounded. Even the Floating technique had cooled down, and the Naga didn’t try to refresh it, allowing themselves to float gently down to the ground.
Of the three major seafloor royalty members, whoever two choose to leave, the rest will be resentful.
"Let’s gamble on it! Better to not let anyone go than to only send two away! If we can’t kill this damned Beamon, we will at least kill a few more!" King Beckenbauer clenched his teeth harshly. His eyes were blood-red and his handsome face twisted into a grotesque and terrifying expression.
"Let’s start with my ’Ice Storm’!" Gerein snarled, slowly opening a stream of frost-congealed aura with his claws. The eager Tide Lord wished he could launch out all the magic he knew to smash his enemies.
The spectral Hydra connected with the Death Lord Ring also floated out. After abundant death energy augmentation, the specter turned into a sea-blue ghost body, semi-solidified in appearance but shrunk by half in size. Its nine heads grouped together menacingly, letting out frost.
A loud neigh announced the start, uplifting fire elements noticeably elevating the temperature of the space. As potent as it was, once activated, the magic would be earth-shattering.
A few of the Sea Clan on the opposing side were already trembling, not due to fear, but a natural physiological reaction to the imminent threat of death.
"Wait!" Moer said softly.
"Are you scared now?" Prince Similian stepped out from behind his father, blood seeping from the corner of his firm-lined mouth, shouting with underlying fear, although he was the most scared one.
"I’m not scared. I just want to ask you a quick question. It won’t take much time. I want to ask you, Prince Similian Poseidon, and also you, King Beckenbauer Poseidon." Moer tightened her cloak in the crisp night air, her black eyes gleaming like dazzling meteors.
"Kid, what do you want to ask?" King Beckenbauer narrowed his eyes, a pointy arrowfish-like stare shooting out from the slim pupils.
Moer didn’t reply, just gazing distantly at the horizon. A breeze lifted her hair, letting it drift in the wind.
The spectral Xu Dela had transformed back into a wisp of smoke and slipped back onto Liu Zhenhan’s ring.
After a half night’s intense fighting, a trace of red dawn finally crept over the ocean, a smidge of warm red glow outshining the stars and dimming the moonlight. Vision gradually cleared, revealing the faint underbelly of a fish.
"I just wanted to ask you, if time could be reversed, and when Avril asked you for her freedom, would you refuse her again?" Moer’s voice choked. Her eyes flashed with a blurry crystal shimmer. Slowly, her tears slipped silently down her perfect face to the corner of her mouth. Her voice was calm, but there was an unmistakable tremor in it.
King Beckenbauer’s eyes fixated on Avril, who was lying unconscious on the ground beside him, falling into deep silence. His face twitched violently, his fingers clenched tightly, and his golden hair quivered slightly.
