Chapter 509: Chapter 109: Absolutely Underestimated the Patience of the Sea Clan_6
This sudden change not only startled Liu, but the two Fairy Dragons as well. Forgetting to even teleport, they were petrified. These Fairy Dragons had absolutely no experience in hand-to-hand combat. The two knight’s swords around their waists served no purpose but to scare off potential threats.
At this time, Mor’s lightning had just been thrown, Gerein and Fire Crane had just finished dealing with the ten Sirens and were rushing back. Liu was on the verge of being overwhelmed with more enemies than he could handle.
Despite holding the Ancient Power Firegun in his hand, with the "Morading Rage" producing a splash effect, Liu didn’t care. He shot at the fastest shadow warrior that was coming towards Daisy. These shadow warriors seemed to be ethereal entities similar to souls that automatically fended off physical assaults. Liu’s copper bullet passed directly through its body, not affecting it at all.
Fortunately, the Ring Spirit Pegasus followed up with "Crystal Grace", eliminating one of the attackers. It seemed that while these Shadow Warriors were immune to physical attacks, they were vulnerable to magical ones.
To her credit, Katusha in Daisy’s arms put up a good fight during this crisis. Without any more mischief, she launched a series of water arrows at another Shadow Warrior approaching them, turning it into a shredded piece of black cloth. As the Shadow Warrior fell forward, its shadow trident managed to cut open a wound on Daisy’s shoulder, splashing her multi-coloured dragon blood and nearly causing her to drop Katusha to the ground.
The two giant shadow warriors—like ghosts, one in front of the other—fell through Daisy, whose body had become numb with fear, and turned back into shadows under the moonlight.
Such was the gifted barrier of the Sea Clan’s king. The ’Shadow Warriors’ could fly quickly, resist physical attacks, but make physical attacks themselves. It truly was beyond comprehension.
However, Ruona wasn’t so lucky. She and Daisy had sneaked up on either side of the Sea Clan, attempting to catch them off guard. Instead, she landed herself in trouble. She watched helplessly as a Shadow Warrior flew towards her. O’Neal’s thrown axe passed through the Shadow Warrior’s body, leaving it unharmed.
Just in the nick of time, a transparent monster twice the height of Ruona emerged from within her, spewing a breath of icy death that froze the approaching Shadow Warrior. Elemental attacks were the most effective against these Shadow Warriors. The monster did not stop spewing mist and held the Shadow Warrior frozen in place, its trident poised mid-attack.
Liu was speechless as he watched this play out. He clearly saw the ghost-like monster emerge from Xu Dela’s corpse. He had indeed heard of the existence of the undead on the Aegean Continent, but this was his first glimpse of one.
Ruona and Daisy only just came around. They were quick to teleport back to Liu and immediately ran into his arms.
Pegasus’s crystal blade disposed of the remaining Shadow Warrior in an instant.
Liu rubbed his eyes. This transparent creature turned out to be a miniature version of the nine-headed beast Xu Dela. Nothing else stood out except for the nine heads randomly poking out of the creature and the two stout legs that seemed to be trembling.
"Destroy it!" Liu, feeling a chill run down his spine, pointed at the ghost-like nine-headed monster and said to Mor.
"Please, don’t! Let it be!" Gerein’s screams echoed throughout the entire island.
Not just Liu, even the Sea Clan was taken aback. On the Aegean Continent, no species, except for practitioners of Undead Magic, would ever tolerate the undead.
"What is that thing?" Ruona lifted her head from Liu’s chest, her mouth wide open, asking in a whisper.
"I have no idea." Blood was still flowing from Daisy’s wound; it seemed that the Shadow Warrior’s trident had cut deeply.
"Please, spare Jianna! She saved the Fairy Dragon!" Gerein flew faster than a bullet and landed next to Liu, his incomplete fore-claws folded in begging.
The ghost-like nine-headed creature floated over as well, all nine heads nodding and bowing at once, its two legs appearing to tremble.
"Should I call it Cemetery Guardian or Serpent Lich?" Liu turned his head toward this Tide Lord.
Liu’s wit earned him a series of eye rolls from the two fairy dragons, as those two titles were exclusive to undead creatures of the Dragon Clan.
"She is Jianna’s soul, the Spectre Hydra. She is weak. Could you let her come in first?" The Tide Lord asked pitifully, looking at Liu.
With his explanation, the Sea Clan quickly turned their guns on the Spectre Hydra. The Spectre Hydra rushed beside Liu, hiding from the barrage of attacks.
"Didn’t you say that her soul had dissipated? How can a specter pop out of nowhere?" Liu asked suspiciously, while watching Xu Dela, who stood as tall as him. The Ring Spirit Pegasus’ mouth was aimed directly at it, ready to blast it with Crystal Grace if Liu gave the word.
"Please do not harm her... I beg you..." The cry from Gerein sounded like a cat whose tail had been burned.
