Boiling Beast Bloodline

Chapter 481: Chapter 104: Absolutely Cunning_1

The mugwort and water saptaparna grass in front of the stele were blown into a neat prostration by the gust caused by Liu’s swing at the stele. Guoguo, wielding what was left of the shattered stele like a brick, swaggered towards the Hydra.

Just a few steps in, the Hydra let out a series of husky roars and started to painfully lift its vast body, causing a splash of water. Its two large legs, like stone piers, propped up shakily on the swampy ground.

One massive blow from the monument had grooved Xu Dela’s nine heads, mangling most of them badly. Six heads, along with their necks, were flung off, leaving nothing but neat stumps. This was not just a consequence of Liu’s forceful strike; the creature’s heads and necks seemed similar to the tail of a gecko, able to detach entirely when attacked to minimize damage.

Blue spines were continuously sprouting from the six severed necks, blue blood seeping out with each growth. The ground where its eerily glowing blue blood fell showed signs similar to a curling mimosa, the leaves quickly shrivelling up, slowly altering from a lush, tender green to a withered dark yellow.

The remaining three heads on Xu Dela were not any better off; each of them bore a large gaping wound. The central head had an eyeball gouged out, a split gaping open on the side of its skull distorting its triangular head shape. The blue blood flowed down Xu Dela’s neck like a faucet had been turned on, but the serpent’s tongue lapping over the wound quickly stemmed the blood flow, allowing it to coagulate rapidly.

Both Liu and Guoguo’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets – was this thing even killable?

What scared Liu more was one of the decapitated heads of Xu Dela, albeit being almost completely smashed and fallen into the swamp, was still somewhat intact. After violent convulsions, it astonishingly lifted a collapsed half side of its head, morphing into an ugly, giant serpent with a big head and short body.

Split body attack?" Liu pondered looking up at the neck stump, he saw a remarkable resemblance to his own, only a tad smaller.

His world view had expanded once again. No wonder it was said Xu Dela was impossible to kill. Cutting off one head would just be equivalent to chopping off none. He couldn’t help but feel grateful for his powerful strike just now breaking the beast apart. If not, they would now be facing more adversaries.

Guoguo, being the cunning spirit she was, quickly darted into a bunch of mugwort in the swamp, her small form disappearing into the dense foliage in the blink of an eye, her whereabouts unknown.

The decapitated head and neck that had turned into a large serpent clumsily waddled farther into the swamp — this was one of Xu Dela’s strengths. As long as any fragment of it still existed, so did its spirit. As long as it could spend thousands of years in sleep, it could grow back its heads and morph back into a full-fledged Xu Dela. This was why it was believed to possess the bloodline of the divine clan.

Xu Dela, now with only three heads left, started to get desperate. Three large forked red tongues flickered in and out of its mouths rapidly. Contact with the air generated a friction sound, miraculously forming the rhythmic notes of magic spells.

If it were so easy to restrain, the Sea Clan would not have feared Xu Dela so much.

Liu summoned his Ring Spirit Knight again, grabbing the Knight’s T-headed spear and began preparing for aerial combat to further torment the Hydra. As Liu had this thought, Xu Dela had the same idea.

Wind magic was one of Xu Dela’s specialties. Upon summoning the wind by one of the Hydra’s heads, a floating technique allowed it to be airborne like a kite.

Though Xu Dela only had three heads left, it still could simultaneously summon three kinds of magic. After getting hammered by Beamon with the stele, it was truly infuriated. Having its strength now only 30% of its full capacity after the brutal hit, Xu Dela decided to take its split body back to its lair to fix its body with a long slumber after quickly exterminating its opponent.

Honestly, it was not entirely Xu Dela’s fault for underestimating its enemies. As a super-level magical beast, it had always feared the strong aura that Liu and Guoguo emitted. This misapprehension that Beamon possessed some strange power, made it opt for a physical attack directly, thinking its bulky size would give it an advantage. Though elemental strength was not dependent on size, physical strength certainly was. In comparison to Xu Dela, Beamon was like a mouse to a lion — an increase in physical strength of a mouse made no difference. Xu Dela’s loss was accredited to this; a Beamon, barely 1/6th of its height and dozens of times smaller in size, surpassed it in power. This was just ... inconceivable!
