Chapter 476: Chapter 102 The Festival of Annihilation of the Soul_5
Seeing the metal bars gradually narrowing again, Liu Zhenhan kicked it ferociously, and this time a real bone-cracking sound ensued, making every Sea Clan member’s eyebrows twitch.
This Piegel seemed to have gone mad, kicking the metal cage relentlessly without showing any sign of rest. Thunderous echoes of impact resonated one after another, occasionally accompanied by muffled sounds of bone cracks.
The azure airflow was frantically circling the metal bars, alternately expanding and contracting at a terrifying speed.
"Please, Richard! Stop hurting yourself!" Avril, shaking her head, cried out desperately while trying to hold Liu Zhenhan.
"Quickly!" The Mermaid King bellowed to the Siren Duchess.
The "Soul-controlling Aura" ultimately landed on Avril’s body. Amid the pull of the pale golden halo, a faint plaintive sound could be heard, impossible to be covered up by Liu Zhenhan no matter how hard he tried.
Liu Zhenhan no longer kicked the domain barrier. His right leg was splattered with blood that oozed out from every pore, drop by drop. He was almost in complete despair.
"No!" Liu Zhenhan looked left and right, spotting the luster of a crystal peeking out from Guoguo’s pocket. He hastily took out the goose egg-sized "Singing Crystal," turned his back towards everyone, but before he could place it in his mouth, his trembling hand slipped. The crystal fell through the gap in the cage. Liu Zhenhan reflexively extended his hand to catch it but forgot that his left arm had been snapped from the elbow. He had no choice but to watch as the crystal slid was slipping away.
Liu Zhenhan... was just too nervous.
The cage was hanging in mid-air, about a blade’s length above the ground. Even if he were to reach out, he couldn’t catch the "Singing Crystal"—even if he could, it would not do any good. That huge, prismatic crystal could certainly be swallowed by a Kodo beast, but it didn’t seem like Liu Zhenhan’s throat could accept it.
Adding insult to injury, the crystal landed right in front of a giant bug, which quickly swallowed it up with its highly elastic mouth. The rare and precious "Singing Crystal" was consumed piece by piece.
Liu Zhenhan was incapable of regretting or doing anything else because Avril, carried in his arms, was slowly losing some mysterious substance from her body due to the "Soul-controlling Aura."
"Richard... do you... actually... love me..." Avril strained to utter a sentence while tilting her beautiful face upwards. Her fingers tightly clutched Liu Zhenhan’s amputated arm, but Liu Zhenhan couldn’t feel any pain.
"Yes! I love you!" Liu Zhenhan, with tears and snot streaming down his face, desperately screamed out. But Avril could not hear it any more.
"Avril!" Liu Zhenhan tightly embraced her body, shaking her vigorously, trying to wake her up.
"Do you love me..."
"Yes!"
...
The floodgate to sealed memories was opened, and Liu Zhenhan’s heart shattered into pieces. If an elf could die from a broken heart, he would expire at this very moment.
A mouthful of hot, salty blood surged up his throat, only to be forced back down by him.
"Let me show you the supreme soul control skill of the Sirens, ’Piegel Sacrifice’!" The Siren Duchess, manipulating numerous strands of golden light, shouted loudly, "Soul Transfer!"
A brilliant burst of light shot into an ugly giant bug beneath the metal cage. The bug, which had just finished swallowing the Singing Crystal, trembled violently as if electrocuted, then suddenly arched stiffly, revealing its stomach.
"Soul Transfer!" Liu Zhenhan felt his spine chill. Was Avril’s soul about to be transferred into a bug?
A piercing whistle rang out; His Majesty Beckenbauer held a strange trochus parrot in his mouth and forcefully blew a sound that could perforate eardrums and penetrate souls.
Occasional loud "slurping" sounds drifted from the distant swamp, accompanied by splashing water and a peculiar, terrifying grinding noise. Every Sea Clan member who heard these sounds retreated in fear, even the massive creatures included.
"I’ll remove the ’Metal Cage’ once I return to the undersea temple. You’ll be free then... of course, you must survive to be free," King Beckenbauer said with a slight smile to Liu Zhenhan.
A strange, indescribable roar echoed from the depths of the swamp.
The Mermaid King’s face hardened as he shouted to the other Sea Clan members, "Retreat immediately! The God’s messenger is about to emerge! There are undead, too! This time, two envoys are awakening at once!"
Even without his command, the Sea Clan members were already hastily retreating, as if something terrifying was rapidly approaching from the swamp ahead.
Once they were sufficiently distant, Liu Zhenhan waved his hand to gather the two hesitant Golden Figures into a knuckle ring. He also released another Golden Figure from a different ring. Now, this ring only contained a half-disabled Golden Figure and some scrap metal weighing about two and forty thousand pounds. Fortunately, the disabled Golden Figure could still give commands, unaffected by the "Ruination Binding Spell".
The kneeling Golden Figure fiercely punched the "Metal Cage", producing a terrifying noise. Despite relying on the strength of ten whales and the stability of his horse stance, and even though Guoguo and the parrot were safely tucked away on Avril’s body, bundled together in his arms, Liu Zhenhan was still shaken so hard that the two little creatures rolled their eyes back into their heads.
The "Metal Cage" was still floating in the air, unharmed and immovable.
As expected, the inherent barrier of the Mermaid King couldn’t be forcibly broken. The only way to breach it was to teleport like the Fairy Dragon, entering and leaving with a targeted object.
Liu Zhenhan secretly vowed that someday, he would obtain a magical equipment capable of teleportation!
From the direction they had come, the echo of an arcane transportation spell, a far-off "grumbling" sound, could be heard. Liu Zhenhan knew that the Sea Clan had retreated. He anxiously observed the depths of the distant swamp, now seeing dramatic movements among the distant wild wormwood, as if some enormous creature was advancing, and from time to time, splashes were being created.
That strange roar continued, now accompanied by an eerie, owl-like laughter, gradually closing in.
The Banilou warrior Figo, tightly bound by seaweeds and lying on the ground, had already begun his last confession before death. The giant worms coiled up one after another, shivering like pupating larvae.
Only the giant worm on the ground, which had been soul-shifted by Avril, did not move its position. Its beady, pitch-black eyes remained glued onto Liu Zhenhan in the metal cage.
"Damn it!" Liu Zhenhan hammered his elbow hard against the blue, smoky "Metal Cage", which suddenly disappeared.
Just as Liu Zhenhan began to feel relieved, about five hundred yards out from the swamp, a creature about ten feet high lunged out, accompanied by a sky full of water splashes.
"Oh my God!" With one arm tightly wrapped around Avril’s still-warm body, his mouth biting a parrot’s wings, one hand holding up the giant worm, and Guoguo on his head yelling incessantly, Liu Zhenhan shouted.
The monster’s appearance was now clearly visible. It was Xu Dela, the legendary ancient sea serpent with nine snakeheads.
The eerie, hooting laughter continued, and one of Xu Dela’s heads turned back, its giant tongue flitting in and out.
Liu Zhenhan didn’t want to look, and deemed it beneath him to do so. He swore to himself at that very moment that he would return to wreak vengeance upon this place.

The word count is just right. A few things to clarify: Fairy Dragons don’t have magic and can’t use spells. Also, in this book, magic is divided into systems; the floating technique belongs to the wind system, hence others can’t use it. A reader asked why Liu Zhenhan cut off his arms. It was due to the dire circumstances; losing weight was not an option given the urgency. As for suggestions such as draining blood or sweating it out in a sauna, these are just silly.
There were clues planted in the previous text. I wonder if you noticed them, haha.
I wrote two Chapters last night, not sure if I can write more today. I’m exhausted. If there are any Xiang Pa ticket, throw some my way.
