Chapter 450: Chapter 97 Two Kinds of People_6
"So, does that mean I just stand still and take a hit? Fine! I’ll take it! But only once!"
"No problem." Captain Gatuso replied with a radiant smile, but it was unclear whether this was feigned or whether he was genuinely confident.
"Deal." Liu Zhenhan appeared delighted, while rubbing the large gold chain on his neck, ordering everyone to step back.
It seems like a farcical fight has transformed into a one-man combat show, Liu Zhenhan found it rather bewildering.
This seemed quite unfair, defeating the enemy without fighting. He quickly thought in a different manner.
The Wind Magic Tutor took out a very old and historic Magic Scroll, with wrinkles that could rival his face. A long chant began, with many spices beginning to diffuse under the swing of the staff, and a potent magic fluctuation rippling around.
"Everyone, fall back to the Red Earth Highland!" with Daisy’s eyesight, she barely discerned what kind of magic it was, and could only instruct the surging Beamons around.
After the Overlord also gave the order, all the Beimons retreated to the first level corridor of the Red Earth Highland. Even the rogue crane quickly fled. The Beimons all watched their boss from afar with a sudden sense of dread.
"Everyone, fall back!" Daisy, a bit annoyed, ordered the three madams and Gortani, while Ruona was shipping Guoguo and the piglet back and trying to persuade the beautiful women.
Ning Yu, being a bit more sensible, continuously informed the other women that Richard possesses a Wind-Resistance Bead, urging them to quickly return.
After much persuasion, only Avril and Gortani agreed to leave. Helen hid behind Liu Zhenhan and refused to budge, asserting that staying behind his back would prevent any harm, even if the Wind-Resistance Bead failed, he could still shield her; urging the others to leave quickly as there was no room left.
The beautiful ladies regretted not thinking of this method earlier and had to reluctantly leave in disappointment. Avril’s lips were the most pouted amongst them.
Only the two Fairy Dragons and Helen were left with Liu Zhenhan. The parrot, who feared nothing, not even giant dragons and couldn’t sense any magic fluctuations, landed on Liu Zhenhan’s shoulder and was the happiest of all.
The preparation for the magic exceeded everyone’s expectations. When the decrepit, ancient scroll was torn open, it took half a day for the obscure and intricate magic scales to ring out. Liu Zhenhan wondered how this old man could chant for so long, it seemed like an extraordinary talent of a drummer.
As he continued his recital, the face of the Magic Tutor began to flicker with an array of colors, an eerie glow rippled through his body.
"What kind of magic is this?" Liu Zhenhan quietly asked Ruona, "Can my Wind-Resistance Bead withstand this? I’m quite anxious."
"So, you also have fears?" Ruona tried to hold back her laughter, covering her mouth.
"Don’t worry. I’ll shield you, there’s no need to be scared." Daisy confidently assured him. Except for odd magic like "Temporal Displacement", Fairy Dragon really had little to fear.
Helen peeked out from behind Liu Zhenhan, her badge in her hands, ready to summon the Komodo War Behemoth at any given moment.
The wait continued, the chanting continued, an air of impatience clothed everyone present.
Both humans and Beimons.
Liu Zhenhan continued to comfort himself about possessing the Wind-Resistance Bead, but still remained uneasy. Humans can practice two-element magic, wind magic doesn’t conflict with many others, with a variety of eccentric magics, Liu regretted a bit.
The humans made a new move, pushing the enormous base dragon, laden with supplies, to the frontline. The giant mountain-like body instantly made the wilderness feel a bit narrow. The huge creature, known for its straight locomotion, was still slowly swaying forward.
"Damn! Isn’t this a natural cover? Seems like these fellows have some bad intentions." Liu Zhenhan glanced at the rock-skinned sub-dragon beast warily.
Even as a sub-dragon beast, it sensed the huge magic fluctuation in the air and immediately stone-skinned its entire body as it continued to walk forward slowly.
The chanting continued.
Even the parrot was getting impatient, muttering, "Fool~", flapped its wings, and flew up into the air, ready to find a place to play.
The Magic Teacher’s preparations for magic were finally complete. After exhaling a breath of turbid black blood, he slowly stretched out his hand. The staff in his hand shattered into fragments, and the torn scroll suddenly caught fire.
But no magic arrived.
"Did the magic fail?" The two Fairy Dragons laughed. The use of any element has a certain chance of failure. The higher the level, the more likely it is. There is virtually no chance of failure in the battle song, but the more powerful the magic, the more likely it is to fail. However, the failure of a scroll magic is rare as it is usually summoning magic.
But their laughter could only remain in their hearts, as they were completely immobilized, even their eyeballs. The only thing that could move was their thoughts.
Not only were they immobilized, but even the parrot in mid-air was static, completely still in the air, like a prehistoric animal trapped in amber.
Complete stillness.
From the Beamons’ viewpoint on the Red Earth Highland, it seemed like their boss was still waiting for the magic.
Only the two Fairy Dragons understood what kind of magic this was.
"Wind Between Fingers" is just a basic wind magic, much like the fire magic, "Flaming Finger". Apart from blowing out candles, this magic can be used at most by high-level mages to close doors. Any wind-element magic practitioner can use this magic effortlessly and numerous times.
