Chapter 359: Chapter 77 Fire! Fire! Fire!_5
Due to his recent initiative of teaching men and women how to create War Song Scrolls, Liu Zhenhan had accumulated thousands of Cherry Wood Scrolls in the past two months. Guoguo casually tossed him a scroll which led to Master Fran misunderstanding their relationship.
"Kill him! Kill him for me!" Count Totti hysterically yelled, shaking and pointing at Piegel with his whip, who refused to die no matter how much he was attacked. He hastily hurled away the delicate handkerchief in his grip.
The Fairy Dragon, Daisy, who was observing the battle from the air, let out a long sigh.
Human tactics shouldn’t be obsessively bound on a small rearguard unit, especially one occupying a tactically advantageous position. Pride and battlefield intellect shouldn’t be mixed. She felt that this human commander was totally annoyed and filled with rage, losing his inherent judgement.
Master Fran’s face turned alternately pale and flushed. He gritted his teeth, tearing open another quaintly made Magic Scroll. The lengthy incantation compared to that of "Wall of Flames" was even more complicated and lengthy. The ancient, abstruse magic scales echoed lowly in the air, possessing a mysterious power.
Master Otigha just shrugged regretfully. The Bimon’s "Sacrifice" still hadn’t cooled down, so fire magic was ineffective against them now.
The mercenaries of the "Metal Rose" had lost all courage to continue the fight, each blaming the other. Their captain Jennifer’s lips moved for quite some time, but she couldn’t give any complete order.
The Heavy Scythe-wielders of the "Tornado" mercenary group stepped up. One squadron stayed behind while another, under the leadership of Captain Rodman, advanced with mechanical and vigorous steps. Armed with three-tiered tower shields and giant scythes, they stepped onto the stage of death that had been washed with blood countless times.
The formation of the heavy scythe-wielders was flawless; an advancing square formation exuded an extraordinarily strong oppressive force, their giant-sized scythes and heavy armor radiated lethal cold glints.
Two magic apprentices of Master Fran bestowed the "Gravity Elimination" spell onto this group of scythe-wielders. This space magic somehow buffered Earth’s Gravity, making the heavily armored scythe-wielders feel light, their steps became nimble and their courage surged.
The Mammoth Powerhouses and Guoguo also rushed out of the kiln. Like Liu Zhenhan, they were also glinting with the glow of the souls from the altar’s fire.
Guoguo was carrying a huge leather bag that dragged on the ground, filled to the brim with War Song Scrolls. Her belly pocket was also fully stuffed. The Vajra Parrot stood beside her, holding a scroll in its beak.
At first glance, Guoguo looked like a crafty trader who came to wholesale the War Song Scrolls.
"Remember my name, you are going to die under Pompei’s tough man Rodman!" The squadron leader of the heavy scythe-wielders, standing in the front of the square formation, Rodman, was roaring from the gap in his heavy armor while ascending the steps. His voice was like a roaring lion.
"Why does he have the same name as me?" A Mammoth Powerhouse scratched his head in confusion, innocently asking his boss. Just like Guoguo, he also had a huge leather bag on his back.
"From the next moment, you are the only one in the world named Rodman." Liu Zhenhan was alone in cranking up the Birdwing Crossbow Car and aiming it at the passageway.
The mental fortitude of the "Tornado" mercenary group’s Heavy Scythe-wielders were in stark contrast to the "Metal Rose" mercenaries. Despite the heaviness of the iron armor, Liu Zhenhan could sense their recklessness and fierceness from the blood-red irises glaring from the narrow gaps in their helmets. Even though they were targeted by the Birdwing Crossbow Car, there was no trace of retreat in these brave men of Pompeii.
Just based on this formidable spirit, their fearless and imposing attitude is enough to shatter the confidence of many timid opponents.
"These guys are pretty gutsy." Liu Zhenhan smirked.
The final strands of the incantation were finally completed. As the Magic Scroll burnt out without any fire, Master Fran pointed out and shot silver small light balls. They swirled heavily towards Liu Zhenhan who was preparing to launch a moon blade from the crossbow car, with rapid speed akin to a bolt of lightning.
A series of five silver light balls with powerful magic fluctuations caused the whole space to tremble due to their torsion.
The speed of the light balls nearly caught Liu Zhenhan off guard. Fortunately, he had a giant crossbow in his hand. He quickly learned from the Mammoth Powerhouses and turned the Birdwing Crossbow Car around to use as a shield, smashing it towards the string of five magic light balls.
Master Fran, having issued these five silver light balls, turned deathly pale and sat back down on his lift chair, panting heavily.
One light ball after another shot onto the Birdwing Crossbow Car. The arrows shot onto the car had at least produced a loud noise, but the series of silver light balls, for which Master Fran had prepared for so long, chanting magic incantations for quite a while, when it hit the car, didn’t create a single vibration in Liu Zhenhan’s hand.
Liu Zhenhan found it somewhat amusing. Could this be the level of so-called human magicians? Had he been overcautious?
Before he could complete his thought, the Birdwing Crossbow Car he was holding disappeared into thin air. A silver light ball hit his chest, producing a splash of mercury-colored stardust floating in front of Liu Zhenhan, slowly dissipating until it was completely gone with a hint of reluctance.
Liu Zhenhan felt as if he had been struck by lightning, the cigar in his mouth dropping to the ground with a "clink".
